Many times, those of who have played professionally, are conditioned to certain things. We automatically think a budget guitar is only appropriate for beginner or intermediate players. I learned my lesson with a G&L Tribute ASAT and a Jet telecaster. Both were bought cheaply, neither for more than 350.00, on a lark. I've played US made G&L, US and Mexican made Fender, Zion, Glaser, etc. But both these guitars I'm mentioning, are *every* bit as good as the expensive guitars I've owned. My guitar tech/luthier was seriously impressed in both cases. I went to pick them up after dropping them off with him, after purchasing them both at different times. In both cases, this guy grilled me about both guitars, due his being quite impressed with them. The G&L he knew of, but hadn't ever played a Tribute model. The Jet he had never heard of (I hadn't either. Stumbled across it on Reverb). My point is this - I'll bet both of these guitars are probably better than beginner or intermediate level instruments. I'll bet anyone who plays or has played professionally could use one of these as their main instrument. I haven't played one yet, but that's my hunch. I'll have to get one and find out. We live in an era when many so called "cheap" guitars are every bit as good as guitars that cost three to five times as much. My G&L Tribute ASAT Classic is as good as any US G&L or any other expensive guitar I've owned.
