    I relate to the point about lifestyle creep. The most I've spent on a bag was for my Mulberry Mini Zipped Bayswater, which I got for 30% off. It cost more than twice as much as my second most expensive bag, but since buying that bag, I regularly check out $800-$1,000 bags, even though I paid less than $500 for the rest of the bags in my handbag collection (although many retailed for $700-$900). So now whenever I see a bag that's approaching the $1k price range, I ask myself 'Do I like this more than the Mini Zipped Bayswater?' and the answer so far has always been no. Lifestyle creep has actually affected me more when it comes to jewelry (aka my other expensive hobby).
    Also, I'm terrible about making returns too!

      Thanks for sharing! It's great advice; wondering if I like it better than my most expensive bag also helps, but occasionally I slip. 🙈 It's a shame that some brands are also just not attainable anymore because of price increases and lack of promotions, because in my mind I thought I could still buy some bags on sale one day, and they were attainable. But now they're not and I'm "overpaying" for the same items.

    Hi ya Lo! I totally relate to the not returning bags. For me being so busy all the time and then knowing how much work sometimes goes into acquiring a bag I just accept it and justify the not returning because I usually find someone who will love the bag or I sell it. Great video and really good points! Have a great Sunday! ❤😊👜

    I use my Loewe flamenco clutch all the time, and it doesn’t show any wear. Use it in good health and enjoy! 🙏🏽💗🌈🌟🥳

    I can relate to so many points that you brought up. I find that I rarely wear my smooth leather bags too for fear of scratching them.
    Buying bags that fit your lifestyle is so important too. I love mini bags and own many but rarely reach for them too because I prefer a bag that fits more than just phone, keys and wallet.
    Even knowing these things, I still end up buying (or seriously considering buying) those kinds of bags when they go on sale and end up having an internal debate with myself. Its so cute/gorgeous, such a great price, " I can make it work" vs you already have a similar bag and rarely use it plus you have way too many handbags!

    • @loyayyay
      @loyayyay  Місяць тому

      I think the mini bag trap is especially easy to fall for, because these bags are always SO cute and usually the cheapest in the range. I'm kind of happy mini bags do work for me, but I also need to be critical of how much more to add to my collection. Thanks for watching, hope you have a great weekend!

    Great video! I can absolutely relate with you especially when returning items that were bought online 😅 I don't know why? but I should already start to practice especially if there are defects on the items.

      Thanks! For me the not returning is probably FOMO, that the item will not be available later. I don't mind returning if I found it for a lower price. 😂

    Hey Lo, thanks for sharing! I think I also need to be better at returning items when I know it doesn’t meet my standards regardless of the rice I paid. There has been a couple handbags where I had let little imperfections slide because I felt with the price I paid it almost “warranted” a few flaws. Really that should never be the case when buying something brand new. Thanks for sharing 🤗

      I am a big fan of the Loewe Flamenco. I have one from 2013 in black calf skin, and it’s looking new even with much use. Yours is in a beautiful colour and I love it. Understand your concern regarding the nappa leather, but based on my observation the recent ones on the flamenco bags are not as delicate as those prior to 2013. So do overcome the fear of using your bag, it’s really lovely. Also, I believe Loewe offers after sales care for your bags (I recall the SA at the store in my country mentioned that but need to pay for it).

      This 😂 I have so many bags (mostly Coach😳) that I bought online for when I visit my mom in Canada as Swiss prices are 😮 so I only get to try them out once I’m there 😂 I am getting better about selling them once I get my use out of them ❤

    I have three mini flamencos all with the anagram embossing (bought in the last year) and I wear my black one the most. I’m not precious with my bags but I am careful. I have a bit of scuffing at the corners of my black one which I wear on the shoulder and crossbody.I always wear it with the anagram, side facing out so the scuffing is on the two corners that touch my body. I was disappointed but was told in Florence that if I take it to a boutique they should be able to repair it. I am going to Lisbon in June and will take it to the boutique so we’ll see. I would not consider the newer lambskin version! I love the flamenco style esp in the mini size. I hear you on the disappointment with newer Loewe, but I’m happy I acquired my Loewe bags at great prices. They can price me out because I’m pretty much done!

    • @loyayyay
      @loyayyay  3 місяці тому

      Thanks for sharing! Good to hear they can do repairs, the nappa Flamencos are bound to get some wear if you use them frequently. I think we're pretty much on the same page with the new Loewe, I think I've just not let go quite enough. 😂

      @@loyayyay oh I haven’t quite let go either…I’m planning to pick up a metallic mini flamenco if they have them in stock this summer. I figure it’s already distressed so why not? I wanted to add that I have a smooth calfskin small puzzle and a mini grained puzzle and no wear to those bags even though I’ve been using them for years!

    I can understand your feelings of being extra protective of a bag. I had a light color Ferragamo Margot that I was extra careful when I used it due to the color. You are right. It can be a slippery slope when you spend an amount once or twice it can make it a little easier to spend more than your last amount if you get used to it. How is your new job going?

    • @loyayyay
      @loyayyay  3 місяці тому +1

      @@loyayyay I like it but I felt like the hinge to open the bag may be a little to delicate for me. It isn’t flimsy but I am heavy handed at times. Also, I didn’t like how thin and loose the leather lining in the back pocket was. I felt like I was trying to be too careful with it so I sold it.

    I also don't return because the environmental cost of buying, producing, shipping is too much already. I only return when something absolutely doesn't fit. If it's too small, I'll tailor it. Giving employment to local tailors and seamstresses. Unfortunately, I only shop online, so sometimes I do make kind of bad choices. But well, you live, you learn😂

    • @loyayyay
      @loyayyay  Місяць тому

      I love that! Tailoring can also make your items fit better. I try to be mindful of returns too, but I can’t really get over it if the quality is not of my standards. 😅

    I am bad with returns. It doesn’t make sense because if I return the item or sell it, I will have the money to get something that makes my heart sing. Am I just lazy??

    • @loyayyay
      @loyayyay  20 днів тому

      I think it’s quite common, I struggle with it too. Sometimes it’s laziness, sometimes it’s also some sort of endowment effect, once I have it I’m determined to love it and I can’t let it go. 😅
