Thanks so much for the info re the pump in the 32.5 g Flex! I pulled mine out the other day and brushed the gunk off the outside of the grill work, and wondered how on earth to open it. Now I know!
I’m getting a flex soon, and I chose the 9 gallon because it has the same light as the 15, but since it is so much smaller (almost half the size) the light’s power is greatly increased
I have the Flex 9, I can’t hear the pump in it and also I had issues with the stock light so I removed it from the lid and siliconed a 5w AquaEl plant light and it works perfect for my little setup.
Can confirm, pretty sure that's the same pump that it's the fluval 13.5 salt water tank. The littler filter material gets so clogged and then hardly any water goes through. Been thinking of either upgrading the pump or taking out the filter material, just worried it's going to make the pump too noisy if I do
I just picked up the 9 gallon today! have only put in some gravel and will add some plants soon as the tank cycles. Looking forward to having a small school of little friends. Love watching your videos, such inspirational aquariums. :)
Peck you need to get the eheim compact 1000 pump for the mega flex. Best buy I ever did. Fits the standard hose etc. And is so so much quieter! The flow overall is so much quicker. I have only one stock light and I have to be honest it's not great on its own. Browning issues on lower leaves. Also I think it's a bit if a design flaw so the two rear ends get shadowing of light. Can I ask how have you got plants growing so high up in the tank? Are they all glued to wood? Looks like some crypts are quite high to the surface too? What's the green plant in the centre at the surface? Thanks!
I would be interested to know what you do/how you set up your substrate in all your tanks as I think it always looks really good. Hopefully you can cover this at some point when ur bored during the lockdown haha.
It's looking fantastic, it really does from my view ♥️!! I really enjoy all your tanks. Would love to come for your yard sale!!! I know you have some really cool stuff!! Glad to see you're doing well and thank you for great video! I can't wait for the day I can get something started here in Virginia!🤞🐟🌿🌱 Take care!
WOW !!! I wasn't expecting another vid so quickly. I think I'm going to do my part to stimulate the economy by purchasing a Mega Flex. P.S. I'm digging that Tee 👍🏻
The Fluval 32.5 gallon tank is awesome however there is a problem with such a strong water flow Betta fish are getting stressed out. How can I adjust the flow in this tank?
Sometimes I put intake filter sponges on the outputs. It slows way down. Also if your not super pronto on squeezing out the internal sponges it helps too.
Exactly, let's go crazy together, even if we are departed by quarantine or oceans! Best regards for you, your family, your beloved ones, all Americans and all the people in the world from Tuebingen, Germany. PS: Our beloved chancellor is in quarantine due to the virus. Maybe, do you have an adequate replacement with an adequate hairstyle!?
I have just got the 15 gallon flex tank and added my male betta but the current is too strong it just pushes him round in circles is there anything I can do to help him? X
Was just looking for a video to watch with my dinner, love when Pecktec posts at just the right time haha hair algae- yeah, tell me about it... I'll struggle with it til I die. But Amano shrimp have really helped, especially if you starve them a bit. Otocinclus- I haven't been able to reach the year mark with these guys, it's quite humbling as a fishkeeper lol that badis buxar (?) is super neat, didn't know scarlet badis had a similar subspecies like that.
Hey, I have the 32 flex which has been running for a couple months now and is doing great. One issue, not related to the tank, is that some pond snails came in with the plants and now the tank is getting over run with the bloody things. It's like they reached a tipping point where there were a few snails and then critical mass was reached and every day I'm taking a TONNE of them out. How do you deal with snail infestations? I tried a couple assassin snails but they died and were highly ineffective. The LPS has some Yo Yo loaches but I'm a little concerned about end size of the fish, the tank is already highly stocked with neon tetras, endlers, etc. Given the amount of plants I could add A Yo Yo. Would one do the trick? Other ideas? Thanks
YoYos work but live a long time and eventually get big. See mine in the 210 for a 9/10 year old one. Pee puffers can work too if the rest of the fish are quick. I just leave them they eat dead plants and keep the gravel stirred. You can cut back in food and the population will slow down too.
@@pecktec Thx. I am torn as they do provide benefit to the tank but there are literally hundreds of them; too many to count. It's difficult to enjoy the tank because the first and main impression is "Man, that's a lot of snails!".
FINALLY somebody telling the truth on nano fish. They don't live long, and if there is ANY problem in the aquarium? They are first to die. I avoid any fish that tops out at 2" or less. I won't buy Neons..it's just a losing cause. Bigger tetras like Bleeding Hearts or Skirted..are ok..they can and do live trouble free years in an aquarium. They can even be very long term..decade or more. But,all these nano with tiny mouths and as you say usually have a real need for live food..just one day..you don't seem them. Gone and devoured by the cleanup crew. Speaking of them..Panda fish do eat BBA and Cladophora and brown algae to my surprise. Blue Green is not touched...
I would not recommnend that. You will probably get a lot of algae, because you have no plants to take up the nutrients in your water so algae takes over. Plants are also very useful for your water quality and they provide oxigen for your fish. By the way, real plants just look beautiful in a tank imo 😁.
I feel like I am the only one that hates the Flex models. Found it very hard to maintain and the distortion distracting. LOVE the spec models and filters, though!
I agree about the distortion because of the glass. Never thouhgt about it when I bought it, but the tank looks so much smaller than it actually is. However I still have to find a 60 litres aquarium which has all the technical stuff hidden like the Fluval Flex.
The pumps on all the flex models are weak points that have required replacements available on Amazon that are inexpensive and have far less maintenance.
@@yoyo_hughes_1179 I am sure one of your local pet stores can order the impeller directly from Fluval for you. I got the intake screen covers that way. It was cheap too! $1.99CDN. My 9 gallon was also noisy, but it was because the heater was touching the pump. I moved it to another wall and it's been quiet ever since. Every once and a while, when I adjust the lid it will buzz again, but if I move the cord around, it stops. Just a suggestion!

It can be pretty tough to pry open.
I could get use to all these vids coming out. Hope you still drop one on Saturday night tho. I look forward to the late night uploads.

I pulled it out my pump and am so happy that I did. At first I had to clean the pump monthly and now once every 3 months.

I see a Flex in my future. I have always had nano aquariums (Specs). I wanna go big!

I picked up my first Flex recently. Looking to forward to setting it up with pea puffers.
What light did you add to the mega flex?

Wow that black sponge in the pump was really clogged up did you check the prapella because I get a lot of dirt build up along the magnet. Stay safe
I did I should have filmed it. But the one handed thing make for bad video. So I’ll do it later.
Pecktec please can you let me know what epithytes you have growing on the wood there?! Also seems you've somehow got crypts to grow on wood?! Thanks!

love your fluval tanks! I need to get me some now lol
Do you use pro mode for your aquasky Bluetooth led for the mega? If so please share your setting thanks
No problem with the light or the pump here
I have just got the 15 gallon flex tank and added my male betta but the current is too strong it just pushes him round in circles is there anything I can do to help him? X
Is that stock led on the mega flex good enough for medium tech plants? Thank you
Yes but I think it’s better to get the second one it has room for. You can add it later if you want. But I like having the second one.
That was great. Stay healthy.
love the shirt
ty for content
How sturdy is the flex 32.5 stand? I’m guessing the tank is over 300lbs. So I’m skeptical on how well it’s built?
It’s actually one of the better ones I’ve put together.
I love that shirt 😂
My Fluval flex 15 is in my bedroom and it is pretty quiet.
Would this make a good bedroom tank?
Nice!👍

Chris be starving Amano’s over here. You monster 😆
Hey Buddy, where could I put a CO2 line into my mega flex? Would I have to drill a hole in the filter chamber up top to bring CO2 line in?
You can put it in the pump out area with no drilling.

For the additional lighting can any fluval led fit the 32.5gal?
No it’s a special version.
oh i hope they have it in the petshop

Nope
great shirt lol

Just a local glass cuter.

Could you do a tank with no live plants, just some hardscape and cool decorations?
I would not recommnend that. You will probably get a lot of algae, because you have no plants to take up the nutrients in your water so algae takes over. How did u make the lid for the 15g flex
I just had a glass guy cut a “shelf” for me. The brackets I got on eBay.
Your shirt!! LOL
Flourish Excel would probably take care of your hair algae
My flex 9 is a noisy thing. Buzzes away. I've tried many times to fix it but i thibj there is something wrong with the impeller
