I've been using GoPro cameras for several years and wanted to share the knowledge learned with others. Learning how to use a GoPro camera may seem difficult at first but once the basics are learned, using a GoPro is simple. GoPro cameras are the best action camera on the market today and they give all videos filmed a first-person feel. A GoPro camera can be mounted almost anywhere and GoPro cameras will work underwater as well! I was told a friend to purchase the Go Pro camera, he said its one of the best out there for videos and still pictures. I make UA-cam videos so I want as good quality video camera, crystal clear!! hey, I have the Go Pro Hero 3 Black edition and when I try to use the slow motion option, it just records normally, Is there something else I need to do or this a fault with my camera?

Great video. I just purchased my first gopro hero $129. I'm trying to set it up, but I can't figure it out how to take a selfie with it. cause when I put the time lapse, it takes a lot of pictures. I just want to take 1 picture with a timer. any ideas how to do it?

Well at least I know how to get the camera out of the case but then the video ended? I love your video's by the way must be nice to spend so much time in beautiful places, I am ordering the silver edition next week instead of the white because it looks to me like with the white you can't shoot wide angle in 1080p and the 11mp stills would be much better. Can you tell me how much difference there is in the still photo quality between the white and the silver edition ? Thanks

Irix: I’ve had my Silver for a few weeks now and I thought I would share that somehow I overlooked the important step of formatting the micro card inside the GoPro. I’ve never had to format SD cards before in devices, so I didn’t think it was a critical step. Obviously not as it seem to be the root of all the problems that I was having with it automatically shutting down during recording and locking up.

Hi irixGuy I am a newbie with my new Hero 3 Black, and love it to bits, I have downloaded the update no probs. My Question is I have an HTC with the GoPro app installed.
The app cant source the GoPro, no camera detected, Do I need the back pack to make it work ?? I have done all the menu issues but no go so far :-( Great vids bud keep em coming.
Just got my Hero3 + Silver, can't wait to mount it to my car!!!!

Funny that you say that because I had the same problem with a fresh card before formatting it. If you put in a card that is not class 10 it'll create problems too.

mapalliola The GoPro head strap mount is nice for running but will you notice the head bobbing. The GoPro chest mount would likely produce less bobbing. Alternatively you could use a monopod. Hi, just found your channel. This is the first video I watched. Yes I subscribed, I may need some help. lol
I have a question, the memory card are all gopros the same as far as memory cards? My question is , you said a minimum of class 10. Will any size class 10 work in my camera. I am seeing a 1 terabyte card on Amazon but dont want to buy one to find out is bigger than what I can use in my camera. I will be purchasing a newer camera in the future but to get started will use my 4 silver.
I'm not sure how large of a card a GoPro HERO4 silver supports.
I export from Final Cut Pro X using Video Sharing Services 1080P for all of my videos.

Do you have ANY experience with what's called a "Battery Eliminator" that replaces the GoPro battery and allows you to Hook into (via the 10 ft USB Cord that comes attached) a power pack or even a 12 volt type battery to get super long video taping times !!!

Hi apparently according to GoPro, with a 64gb sd card, in 1080 30fps you can get approx 7hrs of footage, but obviously you need a few battery changes, or charging 👍

Rotate between the two for a couple of unique perspectives (chest mount going to give you smoother video/head strap will look around as you look around). You might also snag one of the monopods that I have listed there too.

Mrs Otterstetter Have you tried viewing the video on multiple computers? Does the problem follow the video or is it isolated to GoPro memory card? Have you formatted memory card in GoPRo? How do I get a video on to my phone for my UA-cam ministry?
You could upload it from your computer to iCloud or DropBox and then download it to your phone from iCloud or DropBox.

Not sure. You might check Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere. I'm a Mac guy and use FCPX.
If you go on GoPro's website they give you a free editing software that is designed specifically for the GoPro.
Thanks for the post. After watching this and a couple other videos about the GoPro camera, mine is the Hero3+ Silver and realizing I also needed the LCD touch pad I decided to return it to the store tomorrow for a full refund. I will then purchase the Hero4 which has the LCD touch pad built in. The price of the LCD touch pad attachment and certainly justifies the additional $100 price tag for it.

As a WiFi hotspot to connect to. Connect to it THEN launch your GoPro app and you should be golden. If you have not yet updated your GoPro firmware, you should do that first. There were firmware issues with the firmware that came on the GoPro out-of-the-box. I have several videos explaining the FW updates procedure on my channel but holler if you get stuck and have questions. No need for wifi bacpac.....GoPro HD Hero3 has wifi built-in =)

But my vice is wird when I pic with my iphone
We have a Hero3 Silver. Heading to Europe for a 3 week motorcycle ride very soon. We have a few of the 64 micro sd cards, however once one is full and we want to reuse it, how do we upload what's on the card so the footage can then be erased and the card reused? We were thinking of buying a Samsung Galaxy tablet to take with us. And we'll have a smartphone as well; both, most likely will be Android. Can one or both of these devices be used to download the footage from the sd card? We spent the better part of today at Best Buy but the salespeople weren't very helpful. trying not to have to take a laptop or similar (MS Surface 3); they're a bit big & heavy when having to pack light on a motorcycle. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

We don't have room for a computer on the motorcycle which is why we were looking to be able to transfer to smartphone or laptop
Suzanne Hoffman iPad or Macbook Air are both very lightweight. the Air has more versatility for me in using video editing.
If a person has only one accessory for their GoPro, it should be a Cyclops Bandana mount found on Ebay.
It's the next best thing to having your camera implanted into your forehead.

I always use 1080P 60FPS on my GoPro HERO3+ Black. I've found that it's optimal and the SuperView mode makes things look stretched and distorted IMO

No but you can buy a touch screen LCD backpack for it...but if you have a smartphone you can use the GoPro app to see what the camera is pointing at which I think is a better way to go.

I'm looking for a package whereby one camera would be fixed to the roof-rack of my car to capture scenery (and accident) on 3 hour drives. At stops enroute I'd like a camera-in-hand to record whatever. Therefore battery-charges and camera detachment/mounting needs to be easy/quick. Also Data would be edited on LapTop a few days after trip. Suggestions?

Would you say the quality of recording at 720p 30fps is okay? Reason I ask, as it to keeps the battery longer.
720p 30FPS is perfectly great but the 30FPS isn't as good as 60FPS if you are re-timing videos.
Ah thanks for the response! By "re-timing" do you mean speeding up and slowing down in the editing process? I'm really new to it all. (Sorry)
That is correct. Speeding up a 60FPS clip will look much smoother than a 30FPS clip.

I don't have an Android phone but check out my video that addresses HD Hero3 connection with iPhone. More than likely you'll follow a similar process. You need to FIRST ensure that that phone connects to the GoPro before launching the GoPro App. With wireless turned on on your GoPro camera, go into WiFi settings within your Android phone (same place you'd go to connect your Android to your wireless Internet at home). If your GoPro Wifi is turned on, your Android should see the Gopro ...
I am very disappointed as I have been trying to understand using the Gopro hero 3+ black, since February. Right now I just want to find out how to take photos. I do not care about anything else, just photos. I did not know that you cannot see what you are taking a picture of except purchase a LED viewfinder or with your phone. Then, when I downloaded the app on my phone there is everything on it by the viewfinder. Could you help me? I need to know what I am doing by Sunday, June 19. I am beginning to regret purchasing this!

Im 4 years too late but you just put it in the side panel. There is a little spot you can see on the right side of the gopro (on mine anyway) that you can put your finger under and lift up

Debbie Bart Not silly at all. The GoPro doesn't have a screen (with exception of HERO4 Silver). You can #1 Pair with a smartphone and run GoPro app to act as a "screen" #2 Buy a GoPro LCD backpack. So my mom believed that a GoPro Hero 3 Could be used as a regular film camera that I could film short films. She tried convincing me to buy a GoPro and I bought unknowingly believing that its an action camera. I don't know why I trusted my mom this and now I have an action camera to film a short film with no action at all! Can someone give me help on how to use what I have as an advantage to make something successful?
Your mom was right, the GoPro works perfectly as a regular film camera, buy the frame mount to make the GoPro more accessible while filming
