A haploid cell ( sperm) does not belong to the human race. it's not even an individual unique and complete set of human DNA. it contains mo paired chromosomes. One could also argue that any individual cell from a human is also not a member of the human race. the only single cell that is part of the human race is a zygote. it is a universally unique human. it still has some developing to do... but that's just growth and time.

In the "if you are wrong versus if i am wrong" - Her response it completely childish. She made the point of showing the consequences of Destiny's point of view if he was wrong, but didn't acknowledge a single thing that would be a consequence of her point of view, which would be many women being forced to become mothers that don't want to, that had the chance when it wasn't a conscious human therefor not at the stage where they are a person. What she said was "oh well I still saved people." No she would have forced 100,000's of people to become parents when they didn't want to.
You saying "it's still human life." is proof that you are not even understanding the point being made, because in that situation she would be wrong. Thats how the question is approached. The context is she is wrong and she couldn't even acknowledge that in the mind set that "you are wrong so whats the bad that happened"

Ask most (not all) people who've been assaulted whether it would be fair to carry the rapists child and they'd likely disagree with her. If we are going to take personal experience as the basis for our arguments, then what we should look to is the consensus among people with that personal experience. I say the same thing about trans rights. The consensus is access to treatment. The detransitioners who think access should be barred are a minority among those who seek gender affirming care. Most detransitioners still support access to gender affirming care, so it's a minority of a minority that conservatives like to listen to. The motive is always their stupid religion and hatred. There is no other. And this is why all their arguments hold no water. They are in the minority and only growing more extreme and out of sync with American culture by the minute. their beliefs would have no influence over public policy were it not for gerrymandering.

Also we already have an issue with the elderly outnumbering younger generations (and being more likely to vote), so removing even more teens and young adults from the voter block will assure that the country is run by those least concerned with long-term issues and solutions.

It isn't a strawman because (using this comment as an example) the commenter addresses a subconcept *beneath* the debated concept. This is what Destiny attempts to do in the video. You'll notice that from the asserted claim he keeps digging further and further down to the fundamentals. Mold isn't being compared to human life because it's necessarily been asserted that all life is equal; the comparison is to attack the foundation of the "human life is valuable" argument. How does it do so? It defeats the notion that life itself is valuable, which then leaves the human aspect of human life. What makes this human aspect valuable? The 'correct' answer is the human conscious experience. See how working from the bottommost fundamentals we can now start to make our way up?

I empathize hard with pro lifers but it drives me crazy that they are unable going through and test positions and beliefs to have deeper conversations. They view it as binary and are always trying to gotcha or avoid being got. When destiny would ask a step 1 question, she would immedately try to see and jump 5 steps thinking destiny is trying to trap her, talking past the whole conversation. When destiny said that is not what he is doing and wants an answer to the actual question, she will say i just wanna talk about abortion, this isnt abortion. Her attempt to steelman the other side also qualified and led to her patting herself on the back. For people that care about life in these conversations they seem to never care about the person across the table and view them strictly as enemies, not beings to have conversations with or discuss beliefs. When she said she overturned all her moral beliefs except abortion and never will it just further cements destinys statements that these people are unable ever to change their position. They cannot even try to empathize the other position or play devil's advocate. Even if pro life ends up completely right, their inability to try to convice people and overcharge conversations and attempt understanding to inform others shows the failure in their execution of their movement
