Tips: Funnels can be placed on the ship's superstructure Barbettes are pronounced "barb-bet" Secondary Guns can be placed on mounts on the sup, such as 2" guns and 3" guns. It's best to Install the "PROPUSION", "PROTECTION", "ARMAMENT", and "RANGEFINDING" Equipment before even touching anything else. Make sure the "FORE/AFT WEIGHT OFFSET" Is as close to 0% as possible Check the "Engine Efficiency". This Is to make sure you can actually recover from speed loss after turns (Engine Efficiency should be closest to 100%) Use smaller main-caliber guns If fighting a smaller number of enemies. Take It from a UAD veteran, I've done this since before the 19" and 20"inch guns existed B)
@Vwolfplay If you are in fact having a stab at me, which is what I think you are doing, then I may tell you that a battleship can also refer to a pre-dreadnought, so dreadnought is in fact the correct terminology.
The three stats you need to look at when placing funnels are the weight, smoke interference and the engine efficiency, you want to try to get a smoke interference of 0 to a negative number or the gun accuracy is hurt, you engine efficiency to 100 or you wont be able to speed up or slow down as fast and for the least amount of weight as possible. The front and back towers decrease smoke interference and the smoke stacks increase it. Some towers also have a barbette installed directly in them. Also it is pronounced bar-bet not bar-betā
Simulating the hunt of the Bismarck would definitely be an awesome spectacle to marvel at. I wonder how Camodo would manage to create that hunky beast of a ship?
@@cxpKSip yes I know that but without torp bombers the Bismarck can just blow the ships up before they ever come close enough to fire the torpedos...so torpedos are kind of a moot thing....and even running away at flank speed the Bismarck can still bring half of her guns to bear at any given time...
tip for Camodo if you ever do a warship thing again: CV means Carrier, CA means Heavy Cruiser, CL means Light Cruiser, DD means Destroyer, and BB means Battleship those are just the main ones, but there are a whole lot.
CV does not exist in this game, as much as I wish they were. In this game, there's BC for battlecruiser (which is a mix of the firepower and floating fortress that is the battleship and the speed of a cruiser), TB for torpedo boat, and TR for transport ships. Also, leave it to me to make a dreadnought (only-main-gun battleship) BC. I wonder why CV is assigned to the aircraft carrier?
The information of the enemy ships shows up after the battle goes on for awhile, it is not actually based on distance, however the time it takes to identify a ship might decrease the closer you get I havent tested that. But it is mainly based off of the time the battle has been going on.
The second and third "lessons" in the academy has you making an ironclad (either a monitor or virginia-class style, depending on the lesson) then pit that against the other type of ironclad. The reason I bring it up is you start insanely close to the other ship and it seems like that is the case, you identify the ship at insane speeds. Also, if you can see the ship, it can be identified.
Damn, once Camodo gets a warship, he just goes all confused... note to self: Don't give Camodo a Warship, he will just sink it and spend our trying to make it perfect
Kind of late but, Here is a good rule of thumb for this game: The biggest ship you can make is a 120,000 ton german Battleship. Biggest guns are 20 inch, the best thing is turtleback armor scheme, armor is up to you, and MOST important: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NO WEIGHT OFF-SET
Loved the video @Camodo Gaming! Can't wait for more of Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts on the channel! Now I don't just have to go to Stealth17 Gaming for UAD videos or Challenges! I know that a lot of people have put some helpful tips and tricks in the Comments section below, but here's a few things that I'd like to contribute. First, Yes, you can change every little thing about the Ship including the Guns, their Shell type and Propellant. Wouldn't Recommend High TNT as that has a very High chance of "Flash Fire" meaning as soon as the Turret takes a luck shot (From the AI's POV) it'll detonate and Blow the Turret into the air. Only go for High TNT if either your not that far in terms of Technology (I.E. Roughly before or During The First World war), you're coming dangerously close to your Budgetary limits, or you're ship is going to be over the Weight limit. There are plenty of design choices that will add weight, namely Internal Machinery like the Engines and Radar/Sonar, as well as the Armor and Armaments of the Ship, but you'll also need to worry about making the Ship Balanced or rather ensuring that the design has no offset of any kind or amount because that, like Smoke Interference, will mess with your Guns Accuracy which you can check on the Right-hand side of the screen in the Shipyard. You will be able to Identify the Enemy ships if the Battle has been going on for long enough to allow the I.D. Process to complete, though it will mostly be One ship at a time. The different types of ships and their Hull Designation are as follows: • SS is Stores/Supply Ship, which are the Transports (Do not by Any means confuse them with the Schultz-Staffeln aka the Waffen SS from The Third Reich) • TB is Torpedo boat, these are not going to be around after 1924 to 1930 thereabouts because these are the World War One Torpedo boats that eventually grew to become more or less Destroyers later on. The Torpedo boats of World War Two are nowhere to be seen in Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts, which is kinda like a Double-edged Sword; on one hand it would be nice to see British and Commonwealth Vospers, German Schnellboots/S-boats, or even American Elco-class PT Boats, and on the other hand, it would be somewhat terrifying because they are so small that they'd probably come into view simply due to either Firing their 1 or 2 inch guns or Their Torpedoes at you. You'll get a Yellow Warning Icon Flashing whenever Torpedoes have been spotted, regardless of who's spotting who's Torpedoes. • DD is Destroyers, these will be the "Tin Cans" of the fleet. Perfect for Scouting or even pulling Hit-and-Run Tactics with Smoke, Firing their Torpedoes if they get close enough to do so or even provide additional Fire support by Shooting at Enemy Ships with their 4 or 5 inch guns. • CL is Light Cruiser, These ships sometimes will provide better Support for the Destroyers as Both can lay a smoke screen to try and conceal themselves from enemy fire. Some Designs of this ship type had Torpedo Tubes as part of their Armament, but Because they were used either for Gunfights or Screening against Aircraft, the Idea of Putting Torpedo Tubes was left to the Destroyers. Light Cruisers are Usually armed with 6 inch guns, though there's one design in American Naval History that used 5 inch guns as well as Torpedoes which was the Atlanta-class Light Anti-Aircraft Cruiser, I'll leave that for later should you want to know more (or you could just look them up on the internet). • CA is Heavy Cruiser, These ships are more for providing further support due to their 8 inch guns. The British had a habit of arming all of their Cruisers with Torpedoes between the First and Second World Wars but not after the Second world war had started did they also leave the Torpedoes for the Destroyers. These Ships would also screen for the fleet but would work in Divisions, as did the Light Cruisers and Destroyers as well, in order to bring as much fire to bear on the Enemy. • CB is Battlecruiser, the Middle ground between the Heavy Cruiser and the Battleship, the Battlecruiser is designed with Speed for it's defence rather than Armor. Usually, the Guns are smaller than a Battleship, which originally was 14 inches, but still larger than a Heavy Cruiser. As stated earlier, Speed was their best Defence so they didn't have much in the way of armor. • BB is Battleship, these will be the Pride of the Fleet in Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts. In the First World War these ships would be armed with 14 inch guns, and it wouldn't be until after the War that 16 inch guns would be a viable, and eventually Standard, main gun armament for these Large Capital Ships. The Japanese had the Largest Naval Guns in History aboard the Infamous Yamato-class Battleships, Being 18.1 inches in diameter. These Ships would be Floating Anti-Aircraft Batteries when Screening against Aircraft and a Force to be reckoned with in a Gunfight, with some supporting Cruisers and Destroyers as well. Once a ship's been identified, you'll be able to see it's Stats (Bulkheads, Armor scheme, Armament, Equipment Set-up, etc.) on the Right-hand side of the screen. And one final thing of note is that yes, the game does not like having a very large amount of ships generated at once as it'll start to lag out if more than 30-40 ships total are involved. In some cases, it'll crash if there are too many ships for it to handle all at once so bear that in mind whenever you design a ship or a Custom Battle. Now I do have a Custom Battle Suggestion for you, however, I think I'll leave that for the next video as I might need to tweak it so as to not crash the game or at least punch your ticket to Lagfest 2021/2022 man LMAO! As I said before, can't wait for the next video man and I'll see you then!
Try to keep the same size guns and barrel numbers for best accuracy and firepower, as well as keeping the guns in the main belt and mid deck for the max protection, the stats on the right hand side help out a lot, your most important being the flash fire stat, and the smoke interference stat, some towers can allow for secondaries to be mounted to them, your weight offset is a big factor too so try to keep that as close to being balanced as possible as it affects accuracy
@@Kolonol1 I’m pretty sure it had a 10 16” guns, 1 twin 16” and two quad 16” but regardless the game doesn’t register the twin barrel gun with the quads and it gives you debuffs, worse accuracy, the quad and dual doesn’t share ammo, better to go with a uniformed gun arrangement
Try the SuperCarrier called USS America (Carrier66), she sunk or scuttled in 2005 since she was the first largest nuclear battleship in Enterprise-Class
neat little thing I do is give my ships naming schemes. Carriers get named after birds of prey, battle ships get named after legendary aea monaters, and sailors.
