I was born & raised on Oahu
Left in high school, came back to live again in my late 20s because I missed it. But when I went back o realized I had changed & it didn’t suit me , smaller mindset (no offense) & Very slow paced. So I moved back to Cali & I couldn’t e happier. I still go back to visit family & enjoy everything Hawaii. I still have a slight pidgin accent & I don’t think that’ll ever go away lol. Hawaii is a beautiful place, I loved my childhood growing up there. Going beach every weekend, playing with all my cousins, big parties, karaoke, the best field trips, music, hikes. But it’s farther to travel to Europe, Mexico where I love to go. I’m in my 40’s now. My son just moved to Oahu , Ewa Beach & he loves it. He was born & raised here in California. So sometimes I worry about him but he’s Hawaiian, puerto rican, and Filipino Irish so he kinda blends in. I had to teach him what mauka, makai is, zipper lane & many other slang words I won’t say here lol
