- This dance isn’t ideal to analyze since there are so many backup dancers and so many moments where only a few members are on so tbh these numbers below don’t mean much. However, I love this dance and think they give the girls many moments to show off their own style which is amazing so I made a vid anyways. Each member has a very distinct stage presence to me. The choreo is great. Everyone shines in this. It could be argued that this dance leaves a lot of room for freedom (for example maybe they’re just told to drop their arms in two counts so it’s up to them how to do it) so perhaps there is no “wrong”.
I know there’s a lot going on in my vid. I’d suggest watching through and then reading the notes I made after where you can pause and re-experience lol.
Please be respectful in the comments. This is not meant to be a dance ranking or meant to bash any member. It is simply to appreciate dance moments that may be missed otherwise. Plus this is one of my hardest ones to do lol.
Here's what the "distribution" ended up being. Again, it's not a ranking. They're all so close that it's literally like a two move difference between most of them.

Sua
An amazing dancer truly. She definitely has the best timing and has a great sense of how to make every move look great. Particularly with head and hip movements. Again, really she does nothing wrong, only sometimes other people do it better. She's basically
Yoohyeon
She is almost like the mix of Sua and Jiu’s styles in the sense that she is powerful but also great at making the shapes with her body. In a basic sense, she is amazing in this choreo, practically perfect. I don’t think she ever does anything wrong, just sometimes people do things better.
Jiu
Her style of dance is very light and she really uses her body shape, she’s amazing at the flowy moves with her arms and hips. Jiu often holds herself in great positions and transitions well between them. This makes her the most notable during these slower moves usually. I find her dance style to be very eye catching and lowkey goals.
Dami
Compared to the other girls, her style is more masculine and heavy. The only other one like that may be Sua. Dami also has great timing and sense for dance. She moves with ease too, making most of her moves look effortless. However, her style sometimes prevents her from really getting those shapely poses and flowy movements that the others get. Also she really pops it out during her solo but there's no one to compare her to so I didn't count it sorry.
Siyeon
I personally think Siyeon fits the overall style of Dreamcatcher best in a performance sense since she’s both creepy in a dark way and a cute way. For dance, she is able to do those heavy moves as well as soft ones very well. She moves her body fluidly and gets really into the moves, often adding a dramatic flair to them that the other girls don’t. Her biggest issue is timing, she gets many moves off beat and sometimes does the wrong thing all together. But again, perhaps there is no “wrong” for some of those moves if they were given creative freedom. Hard to say.
Gahyeon
She is by NO means a bad dancer. I think these “results” were swayed a lot by the fact there are so many members in this group. The more members, the harder it is to have the “best” moves. Plus, Gahyeon’s best work is when she’s alone with no one to compare her to in her solos. And she isn’t present in either of the pre choruses which builds up more time for everyone but her and Dami. Even so, many of the moves I gave Gahyeon she was not notably the best unfortunately, often tied. Overall, Gahyeon has really good timing, especially with arm and head movements, she rarely makes mistakes on that. However, her moves just aren’t as fully executed as other members or she doesn’t quite do the right thing or is a bit awkward. Even so, she delivers some of the most charisma on stage which is saying a lot from this group. Boca is Gahyeon era even so!

people always talk about how yoohyeon (or even siyeon) are underrated dancers but dami is literally on the dance line and she's very rarely centre or even off centre (unless it's for her solo rap part). she's always on the ends or edges, despite being 1 of the 3 on the dance line. yoohyeon is almost Always centre, which means her dancing is always on display in lives and in mvs. while she's a phenomenal dancer, she isn't AS underrated when she's showcased more as a dancer than one of the actual lead dancers. in this comeback specifically, both lead dancers were dead last in centre distribution and this isn't the only comeback where they're last. and pls before anyone comes for me, they're all wonderful dancers. yoohyeon is incredible. i'm just saying, dami is ON the dance line and is almost ALWAYS dead last for centre time.

i totally agree!! i wish dami's dancing skills would be highlighted more too. in my opinion, she's the second best dancer in dreamcatcher next to sua.
is dami actually official dance line tho? i totally agree she's a great dancer, but most of what people claim about positions seems to not be official so i'm curious about the source. kprofiles isn't exactly the source for that cause there's often mistakes there and it's just fans adding stuff
@@roza2633 afaik she is. when i look up all the info on her positions, main rapper, lead dancer and vocalist comes up. even on her minx profile those were her positions too (except she was also the maknae at the time).

Honestly yoohyeons improvement is amazing from being called a tree back in the minx days because she was so stiff to being 2nd in this with out even having a dancer title.
i think we can agree that dami, without overdoing the choreo, and even when she´s almost always placed in the edges (except in her parts obvs), is such an amazing dancer. this just proves how badly we need just a little more of dami center, not even asking for her to be in the middle middle, but at least not almost all the choreo behind.
I think people got the misunderstood concept of main and lead in Kpop, Dami is lead dancer and that's mainly the reason why she's never center cause she is not main dancer, she leads the others in the choreo, reason why she's usually at the edges, sua is main dancer and that's why she's often placed center

Okay I know this is unrealistic, but petition for all of Dreamcatcher to be main dancer? I mean, they really deserve it. Honestly they could all be main singer too, let’s be real. And we might as well throw main rapper in there. (Wait has Jiu rapped before? I feel like a fake fan. I know Dami, Gahyeon, and Sua rap in their songs. Handong rapped on the show she was a part of in China. Yoohyeon and Siyeon have rapped, I specifically remember them rapping in their Really Really cover. But I can’t remember if Jiu has.)
Yes if you consider the first part of WDYCTMH as a rap then Jiu has rapped too.Also Handong has rapped in their Chakra han cover.
And Jiu has rapped in Minx song shut up too.
It is just a line between Sua and Dami raps but it is certainly a rap part.
