- What happened to fertility around the world? The numbers have dropped dramatically. Once we talked about the "Population Bomb.” Now people talk about the "Birth Dearth.” It seems counterintuitive that we have fewer kids the more we can afford them. Kevin DeYoung recently discussed the Case for Kids in an important essay published in First Things in the November 2022 issue. The Pugsters talk to Kevin about this important subject and why he thinks that it is a spiritual malaise that is at the root of it.

We watched it as a Family! Thank you for bringing up this topic.
Our younger people no are no longer surrounded by models of successful long-married couples and that undermines their confidence that they can pull it off. And as those who've succeeded in marriage and and parenthood are fewer and harder to fine, the means that the communities/cultures available are not naturally equipped to nurture and support family formation and flourishing.
John Behr talks about our lives providing opportunities for “martyrdom” which literally means “witness” and means to pour oneself out for others. In doing this we are transformed. So marriage, having children, belonging to a church are all examples.
Timely discussion 👌
Isn't this really reduceable to unbelief. Either one believes what God has said (His Word → be fruitful and multiply) and God's commandments do not tell us to do bad things and thus be a Christian, or don't believe His Word and don't follow His commandments and thus be an unbelieving pagan. Sure Christians are not sinless. But, denying God's clear Word and commandments therein is significantly different from losing ones temper. The categories appear clear, aren't they?
ill believe when god strikes down those evil doers... look at the killers going free. and victims get to suffer. its a joke......
@@pokerbosscycler Mr. Vegas, I have heard this argument a very great many times. The problem is that if you really want God to take immediate action against all evildoers - and for God, he counts evil thoughts as well - everyone on the face of the earth would be immediately executed.
for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God
and
anyone who says he is without sin is a liar and the truth is not in him
I suffer no delusion that the above will convince you to submit to Christ and believe on Him. Frankly, you cannot without the Holy Spirit giving you that gift. But, you are confronted by one simple fact. God created you. Since He created you, as His possession - and you are His possession - He can do what He wants with you - live, die, prosper, not prosper, healthy, sick. It is purely by His grace that we have any blessings. But, He has already declared, and He never goes back on His word, that He will bring the (life-giving) rains upon both the just and the unjust.
Couple that with the fact that even though you hate Him, He sent His Son onto the Earth to live that perfect life that you and I and everyone who ever lived or will live could never do and then being absolutely sinless, the Son willing laid down His own life for all those who would believe on Him and then upon which He bestows His righteousness that He earned in life, confers remission of sin through His suffering and death, and awards eternal life with Him for eternity through His own resurrection and glorification.
Having this information, you now have to deal with the Holy Spirit. May that go well with you.
