You probably dont give a shit but does someone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
Nice demonstration. I love how these demo grills are so clean. No soot no char on the grates. Mine hasn't been that new since coming home from the store
@whole27 hey thanks for the question. I use charcoal so I don't know the process for wood. There are probably lots of videos ranging from simple to complex that can guide you on wood cooking. Happy grilling!
I have used y'all's products ever since I began my BBQ journey and everyone that has had my Q absolutely LOVES my food. Thank you for assisting me to greatness!!!
Thanks! Your tips saved my grilled pizza! I was trying to cook with all of the vents open and was getting a ton of smoke but not any heat ( an hour or more to get to 400deg with applewood chunks). I did what you said and OMG my food was done in 15 min.
Every year I keep getting better at my BBQ - now I feel more confident using stand-alone wood chunk instead of a combo with charcoal or, just lump charcoal. Nice! Can't wait to try this.
Except remember everyone... if you’re grilling a slab of ribs that big... definitely use more than 7 tiny chunks of wood... no one wants food poisoning lol.
@@GeorgeTropicana the smoke of the wood won’t penetrate the meat giving it a different flavor. The taste is off if smoked ribs is what you are going for. Taste is a preference though so to each their own. I can tell the difference though,
i enjoyed the video, i use oak & maple natural wood in my grill. i take the lid off my 22 inch webber and remove the cooking grate, then take small twigs that fall into my yard from my big oak tree and start a small fire on the bottom grate of my webber. once it gets going good i add some bigger pieces of oak. fill my grill about 1/2 full and let it burn with the lid off until i am left with red hot coals then it's time to put the lid back on and start cooking. i guess the only advantage i could see to using charcoal over wood is you get red hot coals quicker but i have loads of oak & maple trees around my house i can use so i can't see wasting money on Charcoal.
Wood chunks and twigs are everywhere there are trees. I had a huge pile of branches/twigs/pieces out front of my house and people would come by and help themselves to what was there before the city came and loaded it up. As you drive around, keep your eye out for various pieces of wood that would work in your grill if you don't have your own trees. Down the street from me they just took down some mammoth oak trees and stacked it all out by the street. I think some people have already loaded up some pieces, as the pile looks smaller than it did a couple of weeks ago. Tree cutting companies might be willing to give you a call if they have some old wood coming out of a property.
@@yellowbird5411I have big oak trees too but I’m Weary to use them for burning since we have pest control for mosquitoes couple times a year. Are the wood still usable if I’m trimming branches or limbs to use ?
@@HoangNguyen-fm6nd I'm no mosquito spray expert, but I don't see why burning oak wood in areas where they spray for mosquitos should be that much of a concern. Most insect sprays become ineffective after rains as it is absorbed by the ground. Most of what would be in the trees would have long since dissipated.
I have had some of the best grilled meats cooked over wood vs anything else. But I don't use prebagged wood. I go up into the woods, grab branches from the ground that are dried, break them up and burn those to hot coals. The taste of the mixed wood flavors is excellent.
@@darayneman newspaper, small twigs, then bigger pieces. Should've been in boy scouts instead of calling us a bunch of dorks.... *was in boy scouts....was called a dork.
@@darayneman Same as for a wood stove or campfire, basically. Twisted chunks of newspaper, plenty of twigs, and then chunks of wood on top of that. Make sure the wood is dry. Old wood works so much better. Wet/young wood tends to smoke and has trouble getting lit.
I gather twigs and branches from the woods behind my home. I break them into smaller pieces, set them on fire with newspaper/junk mail, let it burn down to red hot coals and grill. Food tastes great everytime and costs me nothing for fuel. Yeah I am not sure what type of wood it is, but never had issue with taste or smell.
Have you tried rice and dog food with a little bit of ketchup on it? SO GOOD 😩 I don’t think there’s one person in this world that wouldn’t like it. Personally I find it even more enjoyable if I add mango 😋😋
I like cooking with crab apple sticks. Open flame with stakes and chicken. And charred wood with uncured wood for smoking. Never soaking the wood. Just using less of everything to get that perfect 230 degree temp for about 10 hours. A little more hands on then most people like. But i enjoy the interaction with wood and food.
pile of wood i got has no end to make it nice like yours takes lot work if done by hand as in axe slow but i got tons so grateful for tips as i will get weber as well they good also thank you

Not bad but I think its better to lay the ribs perpendicular to the grate so you get better grill marks. You laid them in parallel. I didn't know I should close all vents for a minute or so to get more smoldering so thanks!
The only grill my Dad used growing up was propane and he only ever cooked hotdogs and burgers (and usually they had a good deal of black on them). My sister and I are wanting to learn how to BBQ and do a more natural one, since they say when you eat food cooked over charcoal ot is like you hook just smoked a couple packs of cigarettes! So we are trying to learn online what is usually taught in person. Any tips she didn't cover would be great!
Can wood alone be used for low and slow in something like a kettle grill? If so, should you start it in a separate grill and let it burn down to avoid the thick smoke that wood gives off at first?
You could but it would be a lot of work. You would have to burn in another grill or something like you said, then transfer it to the Kettle as needed. Very possible, but a LOT of work.
