I've always been more of a traditional guy myself, but I'm thinking about picking up compound. Probably just gonna do target shooting to start out with, then maybe get into hunting. And I don't know why, but I'm partial to having a gray one.
The best budget bows for that draw length are probably the Bear Legit or Species bows. The Elite Basin is a good mid-tier bow. The Mathew’s Prima is a good higher end bow. There are a lot of other good options but these are a few that stand out to me.
A compound really expands your range and the way you hunt compared to a longbow. It takes a lot of skill to hunt with a longbow though. That’s a skill I definitely don’t have.
Im a complete novice . Man this was really helpful.. Learned a fair amount I had no clue to. Great job pal... thx
Glad to hear it helped. Thanks!

That’s great to hear. I’m going to be doing a lot more videos like this after the season. Hopefully they will help too. That’s a nice budget bow.
Dry fire will almost always require a replacement of the cams.
For sure.

Not a bad way to start. Good luck.
It's fun to shoot both.
What is a good budget bow for 22.8 draw length?

I'm shooting a 55lb long bow and really want a compound bow
