- Land Rover Defender tackling the Waterworks Track on 33" tyres. It's a very steep 4x4 trail at Lithgow, just above Zig Zag Railway Station and behind the Waterworks.
Please only do this trail when dry. It took the Defender to complete in 13 minutes of slow, responsible driving and no winching. Do not attempt when wet or even moist, to avoid track damage. This track is very well known to the local wheelers and dirt bike riders, so please respect the "Private Property" signage up at the top and come back down the same way upon completion and after enjoying the breathtaking views of Lithgow and Zig Zag Railway from the lookouts.
Thank you for your understanding and we trust your discretion. Everyone has the right to enjoy the outdoors. We all love the bush, therefore, let's remember to preserve it for those that come after us so they can also enjoy it in the same or similar way.
Thanks again and enjoy watching.
With trust,

well said.
Well said x 2. With respect the bush is for all to enjoy. The 4wd community is about having fun and good times, not about ego and belittling other wheelers.
Exactly, would hate to see this baby get locked up!
Well driven and controlled throttle. TOP VIDEO
Very good off-road driving. I was about to give the Landie quite some credit until i learnt that the engine isn't stock.
Thanks man 👍 Glad you enjoyed watching. What do you mean not stock?
With the V8 sticker i wasn't expecting the 4bd1 engine under the bonnet.
Gitonga Kelvin The 110 of that vintage came from factory stock with either a rover 3.5v8 or 4bd1.
those are outstanding driving skills!! and you must have some pretty impressive hardware in the transmission and Diffs?
nice video!
Thanks man 👍 Glad you liked it.
I really like the doors with the push up handles and roll down windows. I have an 84 Defender 110 and struggling the find the same doors. Are they custom made?
Came with it like that.
Nice.... just how it should be done! Lockers or LSD's??
Rear locker. Thanks for watching 👍
Great video! Do you think it could have done it without the rear diff lock?
At least not at crawling pace.
V8 sticker but obviously a diesel engine swap. What's under the bonnet?
Isuzu 4BD1.
Was wondering the same thing.
Awesome truck though, seems to be idling through the entire trail
Yea its a 4bd1 industrial turbo motor. Flat tourque curve.
Thought I was watching warzone vids still
Incredible. No over revvng etc , it just made its own way up the incline
Yep, it basically idled up the mountain.
i prefer the Defender 90's
I reckon all your videos are great, but this one was tops. For once you occasionally got a feel for just how damn steep it was.....based on how far the driver was leaning forward in his seat! ha. good work!
Thank you for dropping a great comment 👍 Also, thank you for following us and watching our videos, glad you enjoy them.
Excellent driving and very good video!
Thanks for watching 👍 Glad you liked it.
Ce def est incroyable, bravo!
This guy drives amazing.
Good vehicle, good tyres and one excellent driver! Nice video!
Thank you for watching 👍 Glad you liked it.
Just casually smoking a dart while driving up a mountain. Love it.
😂😂😂 So true
And asking should we air down. So funny !!!
+Glen Davis 😂😂😂
Absolutely perfect. Well done.
Thanks for sharing.(pb)
Thank you for watching 👍 Glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for taking the time to comment.
Agree, best video I've seen in ages. Nice early 110 beautifully driven with no fuss. Has she got axel diff locks or is it the standard transmission?
Thanks for the nice comment. She was rear locked at that time. Since an Ash-locker was fitted to the front. More videos of it on my channel if you like to have a look.

LROR Land Rovers Off Road I've been loving watching you and your fantastic 110! Latest videos it looks like you have upgraded her articulation? How did you achieve this? Also are those custom rear corner guards?
great video...textbook driving
Thanks 👍 Glad you liked it.
Your most boring video ever way to technical and responsible driving😂👍
HAHAHA 😂😂😂
Where is the start of this track?
Join us on a trip if you'd like. You can learn a lot.
This was really a great video. The camera work and location was very good. Probably the best 4x4 video I've seen all year
Thanks for that great comment 👍👍👍 Glad you liked it.
Great driving!
As usual, the video really doesn't show just how steep this track is.
Thanks mate 👍
Love the driving style, is it an auto? Any issues with clutch burning if its a manual?
Thanks man 👍 It's manual. Crawls over everything so clutch should last a very long time.
Would one of thge new style Defenders be able to do this? Absolutely NO. But climb a kerb in Chelsea with a hairdresser driving it? Oh yeah!
Lol 😂😂😂
Tubemonks 😂😂
ahh to be fair the "new defenders arnt really new" and would just as good. maybe lacking the charm though
Looks like his got the same vehicle setup as me,my engine is Isuzu 4bd1,double lockers Eaton,ATB Ashcroft in transfer,km2 33 tyres,2 inch lift.
Definitely very similar.
oh m'gewd, those wheels. Have them I must!
This is very impressive driving and Truck! Does it have front and rear locker? What other mods? Diesel?Just getting my Defender in 2 weeks and would like to modify it to be able to crawl.
Dany Laliberte Thanks mate, yep your right about the diesel motor despite the sticker. Now its twin locked as well.
My mates and i did the track that was down the "black fellas hand trail" that was no where near as difficult as that not too long ago :D what a beast the camera doesnt pick up how steep and buggered up that track really is. we went down in an fj 40 a hilux 2005 and a mitsi triton 2000?? also you guys goto the lost city there???
Yeah, we go to Lost City (sometimes) when we're in the area.
hey guys seems the landy has difflocks? how long is the track? Also which maps would you recommend as i am from melbourne.
Yeah, the track is around half a kilometre. I personally don't use maps other than Google Maps for a bit of visual guidance, but I drive a lot and like to explore, learn and remember them that way.
Very impressive. Keep it up.
Great driving!
That's a friggin epic climb! Nicely handled!
Thanks mate 👍 Glad you enjoyed it.
Gotta agree with the guy below....
Nice work mate....!!!
Good drive man, the 90 Def should have been better but a Def is always a Def.
👍
Another awesome video!
The sound of this engine is really ugly ! But really nice drive !
Lol, it's a tractor 👌
love this truck!
Dam very impressive, I have a 1960 Series II. Love the Old Series.
Those vehicles were legends end of story.
What sort of lockers are you using....also are you running Hy-Tough axles, great flick.
above the fog Detroit in the rear with the older maxi drive axles and now has an Ash-locker with hytuff axles. Ashcroft cv's will be next.
Good video dude, but a bit tame on the diffs 😂
Excelent Driver very good man
Nice car
заебись!
но дым из трубы синий....😄
Just excellent...Finally a UA-cam video with someone that actually knows how to drive a 4 X 4.
Thanks mate 👍 Glad you liked the video 😊
Been modified with lockers similar to a g wagon
Mate you've got b ig cohooners driving that track. Awesome driving and thanks for sharing.
lol thanks man 👍
U never replace this car if they stop manufacture it
They've already stopped
Amazing. That track would be difficult on horse back. Nice work.
Thanks 👍 Glad you liked it.
Great driver, love the driving style.
He sure is, thanks for watching and dropping us a comment.
В грязь бы его😀
gelik off-road люблю играть в грязи
just amazing ? interesting v8 power
Yeah 😂 Very interesting!
That's no V8 in there lol. Way to go diesel.
😂😂😂
Can someone Tell me What engine powering this defender , I guess 300Tdi
It's a 4BD1
@@AussieFourWheelers what a fantastic torquey Engine and unstoppable Defender

It is a 19j?
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
Cool! 👍🇳🇿
awesome driving...
👍👍👍 Thanks man, he did great.
Are they 255 80 17?
255 80 70 are slightly narrower but just as tall. These are 33 10.5 15s.
un bon conducteur
Good job
what engine that defender have ?
Isuzu
What are the engine specs..
Torq, power
The engine is an Isuzu 4BD1T with 90kW power and 315Nm torque.
Awesome driving
Though going!
What tyre pressure?
I think it ran at 24 psi.
great vid, how do you find the detroit locker on road?
TD5 110 Took a little while to get used to the need to accelerate around corners to avoid the occasional clunk as it locks/unlocks. Only negative off road is not being able to turn it off on wet side slopes were it can cause issues.
Cheers, I'll keep saving for some airs
Im running the Ashcroft air locker in the front now. I find it really good bit of kit and a lot better built than arb air lockers of which im running both new and old styles in the disco.
Nice. I looked at ashcroft, not sure i can use one with the salsbury. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
maybe if I'm feeling rich i could try and get a maxidrive.
Cars been idling for the whole climb, the peak torque must be really low 😂
