Persona 3 Reload is a fantastic Remake. Played both the Vanilla version and the Remake and Reload is such a huge improvement

Totally agree, I loved Persona 3 Reload! Probably one of my favorite games of 2024.

Your car analogy is spot on. A lot of the remakes we’re seeing these days tend to be branded as remasters (Dead Rising, Metroid Prime for instance) and that’s what is causing the confusion.
I personally blame Activision with their deliberate branding of Crash, Spyro and Tony Hawk as remasters, this has no doubt set some sort of precedent for future 1:1 remakes and how they’re perceived.

Thank you! I totally agree. There's so many other game studios that falsely advertise remasters for remakes, and vice versa these days. But Activision is certainly one of the worst for it.

The issue i have with the re remakes is that changing the camera and gameplay as well as removing the a/b scenarios properly in re2 remake make these games not really good remakes to me. Re1 remake and modern indie games have shown that the fixed camera can still be used in new ways. So capcom chasing the easy way out by using the camera model every other aaa game uses just comes off as frustrating to me and makes these classic games feel more bland compared to their originals.
That's just me, though. i know im in the minority. I played the classic re2 the same year i played re2 remake.

@@chozochiefxiii3298 I totally understand that. I also dislike the cut content from re2 A/B scenarios. But I think the complete overhaul of the game, visual style, atmosphere, voice acting, story telling and gameplay flow were excellent in the remake. I personally enjoy both the fixed camera angles of the originals (RE1 remake is one of my favorite RE games), as well as the over the shoulder too. It also makes it more accessible to players who never played the original. Like I said in the video, I don't necessarily think the remakes are better than their originals, but a good remake should respect the source material while offering a different experience than a direct 1:1, making both fun to replay :)
