I go into it with great anticipation and excitement but no real plan, I just let nature take its course. At times I actually feel like a spectator when I paint, as if someone else is doing it.So much fun!
I have been painting for 30 years and after two weeks of watching your videos I have reached new heights, thank you. also I have become much more prolific. One thing though. you could stop anytime after 10 minutes in and you would still have a beautiful painting. I never Know when to stop.
truly beautiful! And this is coming from someone who has never cared for abstract art. I am really beginning to appreciated it. Thank you for sharing!!
Not just this painting "Lilys song" but so many others show a unique and beautiful style of painting, the likes I have never seen. You are blessed with a gift - your gift brings joy and imagination to those who see your paintings, especially watching it emerge from the canvas. You should be in the Smithsonian or MOMY, somewhere the world could see your work forever.
Michael, just watched this video. Great job. Several decads ago I use to paint a little. I enjoy watching others paint. When someone has fun, it shows. I know you have a lot of fun painting. I have used both hands when painting a wall in a house, but not when working on a painting. it is great to have all the tools at hand and use both equally as well. You do a great job. I will enjoy watching other videos you produce. Thanks again for sharing this with all of us.
Mr. Lang, I love your style. It's wonderful, as an artist, to be inspired by work like yours. You love color, you have technique, finesse, attention to detail AND you apply it to abstract work while so many others fling paint and call it a day. You really understand how to bring your talent and skills into an abstract to make it very special! Thank you so much for sharing your videos. I might only hope someday you'll share a conversational vocal track instead of music.I'm sure you'd fascinate all
When I first saw the picture I thought it was magical. Now that I have watched you painting it, it is still magical. Your use of shadow and light is so inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing the video, I love it!
the loveliest piece of art-making i've seen for many a long day, particularly when much abstract art consists of muddy colours and no technique whatsoever.
You are so talented! It was such an amazing evolution of a painting! I love how every section of the painting has multiple colors in it. The lines are so artistic and purposeful! Thanks for sharing.
no problem, I hope it brings you as much joy as it does me! I use a medium to blend with(Liquitex matte) water is not a good vehicle to paint with, all it really does is break down the paint and take away its luster.Water is good for cleaning brushes.Enjoy...MIX
I am so in love with your paintings. These curves, tribal designs, whatever you call them, are in all my artwork. I paint water color, digital art in Adobe Photoshop, I draw with charcoal and pastels and I love marker's and water color pencils, but guess what I'm getting for Christmas? Canvases and Acrylics with a medium polymer wash! I can't WAIT! Thank you so much for the inspiration!
Michael I have so enjoyed watching you create your awesome abstracts, and have to tell you it's made me want to go deeper in my attempts to do abstracts...you've taught me not to be afraid of branching out...ehehe!!! I love watching you so much!!! Thanks so much for sharing your talent with all of us!! Bevie
I create alot of my own, I mix and add till I get the colors I want. I do thicken and thin them with an acrylic medium as to get the thickness and transparency. I dont use water, to me it only seems to break down the paint.
Wow, that was fun to watch. Been a watercolorist for years. Acrylic is something I used to use, more to fill in color but knew nothing about the mediums. This has inspired me to take classes in acrylic, thank you.
desde Santiago de Chile, estoy maravillada después de haber visto esta verdadera clase magistral de Michael Lang, un regalo para el espíritu, muchas gracias por compartir tu arte ....
I am always afraid of messing up!! I am a beginner and I cannot draw a thing but I am experimenting with acrylic paint, you are an inspiration and you are teaching me that you cannot fail, I have thrown alot of canvas paintings away cause I got annoyed with it.....but looking at you, I realize you can always add another touch untill you'' re satisfied! Thankx!
Simply beautiful! It's so interesting to see the development, the actual process of doing art! Was a pleasure to watch this video! You're a fantastic artist : )
I really enjoy watching you paint Michael! You are such an inspiration to me! By watching these videos of yours it is really making me want to keep on with my painting! If I can some day paint even a little bit like you I would be so happy! Thanks again for sharing your magnifcent work with us!!! :)
I love just sitting back with a glass of wine and just watching you paint. I am just amazed. Did you ever have a painting that you just did not like? I mean enough to gesso over it and call it gone. I know I have made several of my paintings disappear.
I adore this painting. I just didn't see how it was going to turn into the end result until about half way through when it began to take shape. Talk about ambidextrous ! I could sense your excitement as you bopped from place to place - knowing exactly how to shape and shade .... then zipping to another area inspired frenzy. Your Lily is so rich, colourful, and fun. Bravo et merci !
big respect for this beautifl piece I love the colors and also your style! it looks so smooth thanks for this video, it makes me happy greetings from austria
I love this and get the "just trust your insticts" I'll keep experimenting and hope to one day to create something half as good. You have inspired me to keep having a go. Thanks awesome video.
As I sit here watching your videos and I have watched them all. I have come to the conclusion that you are the most talented painter ever! Your detail to light and color is unbelievably spot on. Every little nuance is there. I really appreciate the videos. :)
Wow. Stunning. You make that ambidextrous thing you've got going look so darn easy too and the shading. As a dabbling painter its not as easy as you make it look.
Such an amazing artist! I am new in your channel. So thankful to have seen your video. I hope to see you latest videos! You inspired me to go back to painting!!!!!
All these comments and likings and not one like, REALLY SHAME ON YOU!!! HE DID A HUGE EFFORT TO SHOW US HOW TO GET THIS LOVELY ALIVE PAINTING!!! Strange time we are living, pitty.
Don't really know! Just have to trust your instincts. Its like a ouiji board, you really don't know the outcome you just start and let it go were it wants to. You really cant make a mistake. If it doesn't look right you simply have not finished yet. Good luck!
In my opinion the difficult part of that kind of art is to know where to stop. i prefer the painting in the time 6,17.. But i also believe that for the painter it is the journey that counts! :)
I go into it with great anticipation and excitement but no real plan, I just let nature take its course. At times I actually feel like a spectator when I paint, as if someone else is doing it.So much fun!

I agree. I slowed the video speed down so I could enjoy his work a little longer.
