Its for small scratches guys it isn't going to take out a 1/16 crater that you dug into it with a needle to see if this would work

Worked a charm on my Casio 3240 - Just a note though: watch out for toothpastes with "microbeads", the beads scratched my watch further. Fortunately normal toothpaste with moderate force for a about 2-3 minutes removed most of the scratches.

This happened with me also. I bought a fitness band as a Christmas gift but it got scratched in just one day but the trick is working and it is very useful and don't ever try to put a tape on the screen or else, when the tape comes out, your screen will be full of marks. Thank you!

Well, i tried this method on 3 different watches with 3 different scratches kind, one has only surface scratches and the other has very tiny scratches and the third has deep scratches and i did the method really carefully and it did not removed anything at all! And it looks like that people thinks it works because they might be not able to spot scratches. I did it in the sun light.

It really depends on the quality of the watch crystal. This works on cheaper watches like Casio where the crystal is a softer material. More durable watch crystals won’t see any effects from this

Your watch face has to be plastic/acrylic.

I'm guessing that a watch of that age would def not have an acrylic crystal ? So I'm also guessing that this works on a glass watch crystal ?

  • @johnwang9914
    @johnwang9914 Рік тому +2

That only works with acrylic crystal. Mineral glass such as Hardlex and sapphire crystal requires more serious grit such as cerium oxide paste. Those so called scratchless blue Scotch Brite pads are 1000 grit so they might work though the white Scotch Brite pads at 1200 grit would be better. Those green Scotch Brite pads are 600 grit and the brown ones are 240 grit, both of which are better for a brushed or matte stainless steel finish on your bracelet and clasp if you have stainless steel bracelet and clasp.

I had 2 watches i thought i would have to throw away because the faces had lots of white scratches that made it hard to read the time clearly. Just tried this toothpaste trick and the faces are clear again! I had to do one a few times but i'm super happy with the results...i feel like I have 2 new watches! So glad i didnt toss them.

OK non-believers, here is a true story. This very afternoon not 4 hours ago, my wife presented me with a beautiful new diver's watch. While helping carry shelving into my son's room, I caught a corner and put a very noticeable scratch on the face. I won't go into details on how upset I was. With a little blob of Colgate, and a plain white T-shirt, and 30 seconds of circular buffing... as God is my witness, the scratch is *COMPLETELY GONE*. If I didn't say anything you would never know there was a scratch at all.
    It works!!!!! TRY IT!!!!

well it's worth a try, I don't know how but I've got a small scratch but seems to be deep, I'll try and hope for a miracle ...I'm so upset as I watch this watch VERY much, I remove it when it's about to do any physical work, remove it when going to take a shower, remove it in the night just in case etc. We'll see soon enough!

did it work for you? you can also use this on very minor surface scratches for sunglasses. But deep gouges, you might just want to hit the mall for some new ones.

*This actually works really well*...if you have patience. I have a Casio AE-1000W that I have worn everyday since August 2014 (bought it after my other Casio was stolen). It was so scuffed up that the watch face was hazy. 5 minutes of tough polishing rewards me with a like-new shine. Obviously the deep and *really deep* scratches were still there, but there is a true shine on the Acrylic Crystal face now. Dunno why I haven't done this before. *9/10 Works Well.*

Guys stop arguing about it works or not it does work but only for GLASS watches (often cheap replicas or even just cheap watches) for mineral glass (crystals) you'll have to wet sand the fucker, and put a real polish on it and rub it.
If you use toothpaste, don't take the ones with tiny marbles or i dunno how you call them. A cheap and simple toothpaste will do the work just fine. And remember it'll only remove little scratches you can only see looking at sideways pointing at a light source, not deep scratches.

With all due respect, the scratches just look sharper lol. It does not work, but thanks for sharing.

This didn't work for me but it was a shot to nothing. The two scratches on my watch are pretty deep so I was doubtful but it was worth a shot anyway.

the tooth paste sands down the surface and polishes it at the same time, although this does work you could get a lot better results using actual sand paper in a crosshatching sanding pattern along with actual polish. Idk why but this just seems pointless to me, if you actually give a shit about your watch, why not do it the right way for a few extra dollars.

Should I look for this kind of toothpaste in particular, or just a type of toothpaste? What type is this? I don't read chinese hieroglyphs.
    Or any toothpaste will do?

It's colgate. Chinese isn't a language. And hieroglyphs are from Egypt.

I see that it's colgate. There are several types of Colgate and other brands though. My question was whether I need to use this brand/product or any/all others will do?
"Hieroglyps" was a snide remark, but it's actually quite true:
      en.wiktionary.org/wiki/hieroglyph
      en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ideogram
I know they're more accurately called logograms, but they're ARE Chinese.
Not that I claimed Chinese is a language, but it's a group of languages.

My friend I'm a beader and recently bought allot of vintage jewellery. Mostly glass. They look gently used with a few scratches and a little milky color. This method seems like it takes time. That's ok for a watch but I have thousands of beads. Do you have any recommendations I can use for a large quantity such as mine?? Thank you for reply. I'm really at a loss. ❇️💜✌️☯️✳️
