Unless your kid has created multiple accounts, the views won't go up if you rewatch the video. UA-cam sees that if your account has watched the video, then it will only be counted as 1 view. It remembers you watched and hence subsequent rewatches won't be counted as views. Go to any video that has very less views and count how many views you added to the video after rewatching multiple times.
