  • When the music starts, makes me think, I'll have a P please, Bob......
Used to go to Yarmouth from 1978 - 1986.... Great times....
Does anyone know where i can see pics of Great Yarmouth from the early 80s, when there was The Crows Nest, Stagecoach, Temple Of The Sun, Frontier, The Steam Packet and im sure there was an arcade between Circus Circus and The Golden Nugget, think it was called Space City.. My favourite holiday place.
Hope the copyright w*nkers leave this alone..

Thanks for posting. A fascinating window into a Britain that has disappeared in just thirty years. The program itself is not a polished or sophisticated as today’s offerings but it has a wonderful feel good factor to it that we could still do with.

Wow, look at the lack of cars there. It was overwhelmed with cars when I was there last week! The Winter Gardens looks mess too which is sad.

I've got the year down to 1984...(the director Ron Downing only directed one episode of 'Highway'...and it states that as the year o the IMDB)

I wondered on the year myself, but I would say that's about right, given the look of things and vehicles etc!

That episode was listed as coming from Colchester, with the Jazzman himself Kenny Ball, Karen "Jamiroquai's Mum" Kay and Mary "Nearly a Treat But Really a Cry" Whitehouse as guests.

@@MrDannyDetail Thank you for your research Mr Detail (fitting name! Haha!)
I wonder how long before that is was recorded!? ..... Who knows!
The thing that gives it away definitively is the oil rig that is "stacked" close to shore, as this was only done one period of one summer season, as a tourist attraction!
But be buggered if I can find any details about that!
      Interesting none the less.
