I really love Santorini, it's probably my favorite board game of all times!!! This new version seems very nice and it probably plays well with any player count - the original game was amazing with two players but quite bad with three - but... feels like Santorini New York lost some of the 'elegance' of the first game. No power asymmetry, some randomness, slightly more complex victory conditions, player elimination, these kind of things. It's surely a different game, targeted towards gaming groups rather than gaming couples, and it was probably inevitable to add those aspects to make it more fun to play with five people. I'll very probably give it a good try anyway, considering how much I love the original! Afterall I always wanted to play Santorini with more people, and now it's possible :)
What if the iron worker card is used and he can't build from two places? Meaning he can only build in one place after moving because the other squares are blocked or has a player in them etc.
The instructions say “Each type is complete set, do not mix-and-match each set” but I shuffle them all together into one big pile? What would an example of mixing them up be if its not shuffling them together?
Not convinced this game is a must for the fans. Original game seems to offer better gameplay, even more so with the Golden Fleece expansion. SNY seems great for new players though and I hope many players learn to know Santorini.
When you cap a building, that building is lost for ever. In other words, neither you or any other player can stand on top of it, and therefore win the game.

I'd preferred another extansion kit than this bad remake.
