Doubledeckeranton shows three different Alexander Dennis Enviros! 🚍
The first bus is a 'brand spanking new' Hybrid that entered service with less than 500 miles on the clock! 👌
The second Enviro is a similar 'newish' Hybrid bus from 2016, but has already amassed 75,000 miles on the mileometer and is 'showing it's age' with the amount of 'dust and dirt' accumulated over the past 24 months! 💩 🤢
The third Enviro is a diesel only variant and is one of the first versions built back in 2007 (mileage unknown).
Even though the two types of Enviro are only a generation apart, bus technology has advanced to the point where fully electric double deckers will become the norm in the 'near' future!

Hey, great news! Today I passed my PCV driving test 1st time with 3 minors. Chuffed to bits. Next week I'm doing bus plus which will be customer service scenarios and ticket machine learning. This evening is honey JD time to unwind. That's another and possibly the highest hurdle or tightest hoop I have to jump through. My uniform hasn't arrived yet though 😑

It's great that that you are getting new buses all the time. When I was a driver, the newest buses we had were S Reg Darts, and they were on loan! We had stuff ranging from 1965 RM's to 1984 M's. Another great video from the new bus Guru.

E400 mmcs are taking over London most routes have them
Buses made before 2010 are the best in London very quick acceleration like the old e400 trident president and the dart but the newer buses euro 6 have slower acceleration and struggle with hills

That smell is the smell of brand new seat covers and possibly new flooring too. I still remember when the Volvo B10M in Singapore just have their seat covers refurbished 6-10 years ago, they gave a similar smell to a brand new bus too.

I saw an 18 plate MMC on the 436 and then right after it there was an 08 plate Enviro on the same route. AMAZING VIDEO!
Great video Anton , nice new buses look like miniature Toys ..i see not much scratches and graffiti in the old ones. Melbourne buses are quiet new but graffiti is more evident and often i see cut seats . Cheers from Melbourne (Dave)

yeah exactl y, because pretty much the same culture inst it .but it really depends on the driver how he looks after the bus and is more vigilant and observative cheers

Yesterday I done my first day with paying passengers with a mentor. I was driving a citaro. Very manouverable they are, nice to drive. It was a 10hr shift and I swapped with my mentor a couple of times so we shared the driving. It's bloody exhausting which no one realises until they do the job. It was still an enjoyable day though.

In Great Yarmouth we have Enviro 400 63 plates on the X1 route to Norwich, very comfortable to ride. We still also have a couple of W reg ALX400s which are too old now.

Yeah, the new smell is strong.
I like the new YX18 buses but I'm gonna be sad to see them well "replace" the old buses which I have known coming around my area for years! The echo of the Computered voice by that Elizabeth women (who announces bus route, destinations, bus stop etc) on the bus sounds cool and the air con is very noisy but it's very nice and spacious on the lower deck which is good for when all seats are full and the bus is compact! I sound very nerdy but anyway nice vid Anton I subbed!!!

I remember when the first 2011 ADL Enviro 400 came to Glasgow and oh that new bus smell was unforgettable until about the first month when the foul air of the city changed that.
You should do a video on breakdowns, what happens etc and how often a breakdown happens

That used to be my job, delivering new buses on trade plates, with a YX plate it was probably made at plaxtons in Scarborough.

Thanks for another fantastic Video! Do bus-companies in London clean buses during the day? In Rotterdam I see that they use teams with cleaners at the end-stops. I think a bus in a city like London can collect a lot of garbage in one day!

Here in Leeds, First have eighteen 14 plate E400s at one depot and eighteen 16 plate MMCs. Arriva have a fair amount of Enviro 400s. They have 58 plates, 15 plates and 17 plate MMCs aswell as a lot of E200s which are 09 plate and 14 plate

Your bus company should keep a Lobby Dustpan and Broom on each bus so the drivers can help keep the bus's clean.
You should recognise that number plate, the bus was built in Scarborough and registered in Beverley.

Down my local area we got 17 Reg Stagecoach buses rest are 7 to 8 yr old buses
The low mileage is probably the distance from Falkirk to London. So a very low mileage bus. Unless the Enviro 400s are built at Plaxtons now. Another excellent video Anton top man 👍

First rode that model on the 498 Romford to Brentwood, Stagecoach also have them on the 277 from Crossharbour to Highbury Corner. They’re a nice ride, great seating and no jerking, much nicer than those new Routemasters.
Jack Sugden the routemaster is the best citybus ever built in the world hands down.

The London buses are great apart from 1 or 2 buses where I live which is the p13 and maybe the 345
Liam NUFC ...yes the 345 buses have become quite old now! They are around 2009-2012 on that route!
