Honestly I'd say people care a little bit more about the characters and stories than the gameplay just cuz of how much bl3 was hated solely cuz if the terrible writing

@@XenonArcheru need more than good gameplay to have a good game. The writing and story in bl3 were atrocious and the vault hunters were forgettable. Plus there was that Tiny Tina game that also wasn't great, and then the pre sequel being fairly mediocre
@@Justalilcyn ok so, first playthrough, the story matters a lot. but the second? not so much cus you just skip cutscenes lol. at that point, the gameplay is absolutely the more important aspect.
and the game did a lot right. being able to join my friend with a lvl 15 character while theyre using one thats lvl 30 was great. split loot was great. imo it had lots to like ffs.
the vault hunters were also fine? like, i dont really know what you want if you think theyre forgettable.
wonderlands was an experiment and also a spin off lol.
and the pre sequel was good. had some issues but had its own unique spin. it was also developed by an australian studio i believe. not the main studio that has developed these games.
point is. there really hasnt been many mistakes. they released a great first game. went crazy with the second and whats come since hasnt quite hit the same mark but it really hasnt been too far off ffs. so for them to be on their "last chance" is quite ridiculous imo.
@@XenonArcher tbh I feel like a lot of people are feeling like this is the last chance they’ll give the franchise not because it’s bad but because everyone is so used to seeing the downward trend of a franchise now that they may just want to jump off early instead of crashing and burning with another one of their beloved stories being stripped of all its love just for cash

For the love of god let me skip the dialogue and not have to wait 5 minutes for the exposition to end before I can actually play the game over and over again.
This is their chance to give Borderlands a serious tone from the characters while having some wacky enemies. Also, have another great anti-hero like Jack or a threatening enemy like the Lance from Borderlands 1 (those guys were so difficult to fight in that game).
Just don’t have another story like 3 with half cooked jokes about underwear.
If this game has the same gameplay as 3, but better and less annoying villains then it could be great.

Aw man, are they toning-down the comic book inspired artstyle? Did they forget the reason they changed to this style in the first place?
Let's hope that they don't pull a Rise of Skywalker, Modern Warfare 3 (2023), or Halo Infinite and start retconning a bunch of stuff just to "please the fans" that derails the entire story of Borderlands.
Good they released this now to capitalize on the movie hype.
I knew this was coming because i saw Randy's latest tweet wording it perfectly to indicate a upcoming sequel lets just hope this dosen't flop as badly as the movie did

b3 hurts me too much when b3 devs dismissively disband b2 hunters off screen from the main story with weak or non existent reasoning.
so b3 main story canon forever has branded gaige, krieg, axton & salvador as neglectful apathetic 'ex-vault hunters' that doesn't care about crimson raiders' desperate conflict against COV, and also the crimson raiders+maya & zer0 doesn't spare minimal amount of brain cells and energy to attempt reuniting b2 vault hunters in b3 main story.
it betrays and destroys the bonds that b2 vault hunters and sanctuary people+crimson raiders has formed in b2 when they all struggle to survive against jack+hyperion's oppression on pandora.
so please b4 devs... in b4 main story... at least make sure the surviving b2 vault hunters reunite again and be important part of the main story...
maybe also have some side quest event where gaige, krieg, axton, salvador & zer0 visit maya's grave to pay respect to her.
i wish we could create custom characters in b4, with various flexible options for skills+cosmetics. and also some selection of preset voicelines for our custom vault hunters.
that way, i can pretend i'm playing with gaige again in b4.
meanwhile i'll just stick to my headcanon that b3 never existed, where after the ending of b2+b1.5+tftb the crimson raiders and their 'good heroic vault hunters' banded together and easily built turbomansion sanctuary mothership with the aid of many sponsors and loots they've gathered over the years, and go on jolly coop vault hunting adventures across the 6 galaxies and maybe also isekai-ing into other franchises' universes.
