Glad to see some other metalheads making content on Amperos. I bought, like, second batch of the original Ampero and found *nobody* talking about using it for metal. I just recently bought a POD Go Wireless instead for the community support (plus, you know, wireless), but yeah, cool to see.
Resident metal head here. And yeah, I like it! They are really cool!
Just in case anyone is unsure, there is absolutely no difference between the red and white one apart from the colour (and the price!)
Shirt cap and vinyl and red hardware limited edition 1200 pieces
@@slinhciriew8266 but still exactly the same device though.
We are aware
Your intro songs always make me wanna crowdkill my room.
YES! Glad you like it 😈
😂😂😂 move the amps out first
@@NinecoreNeil good point 🤣
I got the Ampero II for dirt cheap second hand, immediately fell in love with it. Bought it just to try based on your demo, but ultimately it replaced my Pod Go, which I got rid of (to make a room, of course).
I don't know what exactly it is, but I have a soft spot for it as well
Whoa, so this is like the old school line 6 stuff where you could use two signal chains? I love that! I've always wanted that but with IR's.
I got titanium gold screws for my white Ampero 2 stomp. Now I wish I had the red one cause those screws would go even better with that.
Where?
What size are they?
I am digging your band bro!
It is quite trebly, but really chunky at the same time! Noice!
Dude, this sounds massive!!! 🪓🪓🪓
That weird "Orchestral" IR is for an acoustic guitar. I've just discovered it two hours ago, when I was playing around with my acoustic plugged into the old ampero. Those IRs (orchestral, jumbo...) completely change the sound character of an acoustic, which gives you a lot of options. Anyway, thanks for the video (and all those other ampero videos, they really helped when deciding what to buy).
Cool video 🤘🔥🤘 been looking at the Headrush MX5 , Line 6 Pod Go and this Ampero II for dialing in Metal tones.
Any suggestions? I seem to be leaning towards the Ampero which just sounds and stands apart from the reviews I’ve seen. Had a quadcortex and wasn’t too happy with it especially the price point
Alright, so.. I have the headrush gigboard, the Ampero 2 stomp, and an AxeFX Fm9 Turbo... I have played plenty of Line 6 stuff, which is good, but of all of them, I would highly recommend the Ampero 2.. It is just extremely easy to quickly shape tones and it really does sound awesome.. It is also extremely versatile.. The Headrush is ok, but less geared toward high gain tones.. The Ampero is reeeeally good with high gain, and only really terrible with it's pitch shifting abilities.
@@daveklein6585 Cool thanks for taking the time to reply 👍 yeah I’ve been listening to tone videos on UA-cam and it really came down to the HeadRush MX5 and Ampero 2 stomp for me.
Thanks for the input and it makes sense cause of the few Ampero videos I’ve seen the Metal tones sounded really good 👍 I’m gonna buy both and play around with them.
Had a Neural QuadCortex and just wasn’t digging the amp models… downloaded the Soldano SLO100 capture from Fluff and Kikos amps from Megadeth and I found they just sounded nothing like they did on videos 🤷♂️ was running it to Seymour Duncan powerstage then to 2x12 cab. Couldn’t really figure out why the tones didn’t sound that good so just brought it back… was overkill for what I use it for anyhow. Anyways thanks for the reply 👍
I want this pedal now.
I still waiting ampero III , black and 4 button version. I think it will be incredible
Did you ever try those small hotone amps? I think they were 5 or 10 watts.
Where can I get that sick stand you have the Ampero on???
3:38 - Celestion IRs are great with guitars
Highly recommend updating the firmware to the new 1.1, alot of optimisation and alot more dsp on tap
OHHHHH SNAP. I'll do that!
What is DSP?

Nice "make Aempero great again" hat!
😜
it's the same as the flamma fx200 LuL. not talking about the red one.
whereto get the red one?
Will you make a video about Boss GX100? I know you didn't like the experience with the GT1000, but GX100 looks like a very user friendly device, and no fixed blocks!
It's been on my list for a minute. I probably will check it out soon.
2:50 POO - 1😅
Between 1:01 and 1:02 did you see it ! Rocking his way into the U-NNNNNN-DE-RRRRRR-W-OOOOOO-RLD !
That Red is ok ? But maybe a darker blood red ! Personally i like idea of more colors ! They could have made one a Deep Purple with Gold push buttons ? That would be my preference.
The settings don’t seem to be making any change on my side of things
I found it a bit too harsh and fizzy for my ears but could be the IR. Try good old catharsis and see if it helps
Hi Taylor, I hope you're well and Happy Xmas man. Maybe it's just myself being dumb but when I connect the ampero 2 to my Focusrite Scarlett no sound comes out of the speakers...i can clearly see the signal output on the ampero and also the signal input on the Scarlett but no sound at all from the speakers....it works great if i connect the speaker to the ampero 2 and also if i connect to the return on my amp BUT nothing when I connect it to the Scarlett...is there any trick or audio setting that I am missing? Btw on my laptop I have set up the ampero 2 as input device and the scarlett as the output device (I tried all the other combinations to be fair) Any idea or suggestion? Thank a lot and hopefully you can record a video on the 4 cable methods with this unit ;)
Did you ever figure this out?
@@MetalDetailer I did and it was indeed myself being dumb...I've always kept the direct monitoring knob fully on playback which works great with plugins, however, this way it would prevent the audio from the Ampero II to come off the speakers. Just keeping the knob half way allowed me to get both music and the sound of the Ampero coming off the speakers :)
Can anyone help me out? I've been trying to figure out how to utilize the 4 cable method with my ampero II but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm running it through a Peavey 6505+. Please, any info helps out. Thanks!
could you connect that direct to a cab?
god damn that intro track was thicc
Yepp, why not!
Cool!!! Sounds very nice!!!! Brutal! 🤟🤟🤟🤟
💪
Any difference with the original?
Do you think Ampero stomp II is more powerful now that hx stomp has update 3.5?
always enthusiastic about your videos!!!!
Oof, that’s a good question. I haven’t tested it but apparently there’s an update for the Ampero that makes it more efficient and increases how much you can put in a chain before the memory limitation. If that’s true, I’d say the Ampero is more powerful, but the thing with the hx stomp is it just has SO many cool effects and features, so it’s more powerful in that way.
I honestly don’t know, very tough call
@@TaylorDanley thank Taylor!!!
Love the content man. I was wondering if you wanted to sell that Ampeg that's sitting on top of your Crate.. I had one of those in the early 2000s and sadly due to an evil woman and a pretty wicked pill habit I lost it.. Was my favorite amp and I haven't seen one since till I saw your video.. If you wanna get rid of it let my know.. Again love the channel man.
I might sell it one day.. I wasn't going to, but I saw one sell recently for over 2k and was like WHY AM I KEEPING THIS
@@TaylorDanley Ok,if you do hit me up..
A little extreme on the treble for the Sacrificer bit but damn, that does sound quite impressive 🤘 I'll buy it off you 😛
I don't think I'm selling this one, but probably my white one..
@@TaylorDanley Is that the II Stomp version? Sounds a lot hotter than the Ampero v1 I've got
@@KPGuitarStudios It is! I think I made a video with it when I first got it, but as far as I can tell they are the same aside from cosmetics.
@@TaylorDanley Chat in Discord? Hrmm, I'm curious
I am fullblown analog guy but these vid makes me seriously wanna ditch my boss me-50 and all pedals i have and get one of these modellers and stuff like toneX, ampero, or amperium live from st rock... I even think helix stomp would do the job for all my other stuff but i am not so fancy and good with computers or home recording stuff so is this good in live played you tell me?
Line 6 Helix 3.50 update review? :) It has the PEAVEY INVECTIVE model in it!
I actually only kept my pod go, and nothing for that yet 😔
@@TaylorDanley I hope they will update Pod Go
@@ConstantineM I’m sure they will, they usually do it a few months later. Incentive for the helix premium
Why the drums sounds over the guitar?
@TaylorDanley Hey man I know you hate this question. But I'm currently new into amp modelers and am trying to find something in the 200/250ish price range. I pretty much mainly play metal and am seeking metal/djenty tones. Only really looking for something to stay connected to my computer, I don't plan to use one with an FX loop or have it on a board. I've seen some of your videos where some brands are very snapshot like when it comes to the amp its attempting to model and doesn't have much headroom with EQ. I've been in a hole here researching this shit for hours, your recommendation/s would be great!
If you're only planning on connecting to your computer, why not just use a plugin? You'll get more for your money that way IMO since you aren't paying for physical hardware.
@@TaylorDanley True, do you have a recommendation on a plugin & also a physical modeler if I were to use one away from my computer? I'm new to the whole DAW world, Ive been a 6505 and V30 cab guy for years just playing on amps. Im really impressed with the digital tone you've gotten on alot of your videos.
@moshimma1982 thank you! I'm checking out Neural DSP now
You literally sold me the Ampero. Hotone is wise to send you some stuff to review ;)
This thing sounds fuckin insane
First preset is POO-1? Didn’t sound like POO. You know why Hotone celebrates red for 10th anniversary, right? Cuz they’re products are Fire! Maybe it’s the Compact Combing Processing though. Not sure. Just guessing. Cool they sent you goodies!
Yeah, their stuff is really good! It was very sweet of them to send me the goodies also
Holy fuck red paint must be expensive!
It's those gold footswitches, they must be real 😂
Would you recommend the Ampero II or a FM3?
I have both. The Ampero Stomp 2 is fantastic, what I would label an "A-" modeler, a very high complement for the price. That said, it's not an equal to the FM3, but if size matters, the Ampero is smaller. The modeling and effects in the FM3 are superior, but the Ampero certainly rocks. To be labeled a"A-" tier modeler is a very high compliment for the Ampero, killer value, just not quite on the level of the FM3.
@@LivinginLosAngeles-re5yx Differenet leagues my man. I had a FM9. I did like the Ampero II for cleans though. I loved the small form factor and touchscreen.
Idc how it sounds because even the cheapest modelers sound good, i just gotta know the features
New member to your channel 🤟😜💕 .....but what is it about the company name? Hotone........ When you say it, it's Hot-Tone , but when I read it for me it's Ho-Tone or Hot-One 😂 so are they going tochang it to Hot-Tone?
Welcome!! I have no idea. They've never corrected me so I just keep saying it that way lol
@@TaylorDanley 😄
My brain can't recognize the brand name as "Hot Tone". To me, it will forever be "Ho Tone" ;)
😂
So this is good old Ampero Stomp II, but RED...?
I own a white one so I guess I don't really need it... :|
BTW If some of you guys find his tone too trebly/harsh, you can easily dial it to your liking, amp sims in Ampero have very responsive knobs with wide range + you can always change mic placement in the cab block :)
There is a riff you always play when you're testing gear make a lesson how to play that riff please
Time stamp? There's a lot of them lol
if you're are a "collector" of ampero lmao

Man, that built in IR cabs sounds ugly! Why can't you hear it?
Not sure if it's just you that's making it sound bad, or if it's really that fizzy? Yikes
