Nice action! The Aussie Bass love the smaller 2.75 Finesse FrogZ in skinny water, so I had no doubt the Murray Cod would like the bigger version too. One tip I would give is that when you are fishing the lure and it is moving slowly or paused, allow the fish a second or two to get the lure in before setting the hook. You don't usually need to worry about that is much when they hit the lure when it is moving fast and the line is tight, as they usually set the hook themselves on the strike.
Thanks mate, that pause is definitely something I need to get used to. Watching the footage back I think most of the fish I missed didn't eat the plastic properly anyway but its definitely the best way to hook them
I was impressed at how well it drew fish out. I was worried it wasn't going to have enough presence to get many to come up for it, might still be an issue for larger fish
Love the scenery and fish mate! But ask yourself if you’ve ever seen frogs do breast stroke like Liesel Jones. If you slow down the retrieve to mimic a frog, I’ll bet you a kayak full of frogs you’ll get more hookups and stay hooked too.
Thanks mate, its a bit deceptive with what's shown in the vid but there was plenty of times the frog was moved slowly on this day, its just they weren't eating it so over time I adjusted my technique to what was getting the bites. These frogs don't actually do a very good job of imitating frogs anyway but they are a great reaction bait
Probably the best display of bait caster use I have seen.
Thanks mate, heaps of time on the water using it and a bit of practice at home to get there
That newly fallen tree is a nice addition to the river Alex. A deterrent for those not willing to put in the hard yards.
Definitely agree there, I'm happy to drag the yak over a tree or two but will limit the amount of traffic through there
what a scenic place to fish, so much structure too.
Yeah its a great piece of water, no shortage of snags to cast at

The frog seems to be very popular in fresh and saltwater fishing (great vid👍🏽)
Thanks mate! Yeah they work well even in places that don't have frogs
Lucky you only got small ones this trip mate! Some of those spots you hooked up we're pretty hairy! Nice video mate 💪🎣
Thanks mate, getting them out is half the fun of fishing weedless deep in the snags
Awesome video again mate!! Class video.
Those frogz in the smaller version are great for Aussie bass up here in SEQ!
Thanks mate, I bought a couple of the finesse frogs when they first came out and still haven't fished them. Will have to give them a run at some stage
Surprised how that simple frog works so well, especially in the thick stuff.

They also work well on Barra
Yeah thats most of what I've seen them used on. Looks super cool the way barra mow them down

Have you tried the Damiki Frog
No I haven't tried them, they look a bit on the bulky side for positive hookups
@Hawkesy Fishing yea never used them either
