I started with Colin and Penelope's book, now I'm reading Benedict's. I can definitely say I prefer show Colin more than book Colin. In the book, there are quite a few overly rude words and actions from his side. Also I liked that they gave Penelope a suitor in the show. In the book, their dynamic was way too one-sided, and many times, his care didn't come across in his words. The only part where I like the book better is where they showed more of their friendship. I also agreed that I would've wanted them to show Colin help Penelope more.
@@MJ31579 it’s 100% a common theme across the books that the men are overly rude - def watch out for that - With the Polin book I adored their friendship and really that played out across the book going from not as close to being able to form a sort of friendship bc they were both older and proprietary “allowed it” to then falling ! Also Godspeed getting through Benedict’s book
I liked Romancing Mr Bridgerton but didnt like the others that much. When He Was Wicked started out great but then Michael got weird and coercive. I didnt mind Benedict and Sophie's book either but all in all the Netflix show is way better than the books.
@@tanyaevans9585 I see that for sure! I forgot when reading the books the author had to make the characters act in a gender role defining way true to the regency era which make some interactions very uncomfortable to modern readers
