The concert was fantastic! I stayed there in the Wiener Stadthalle...I was 18 years old...nice to here it in this quality!

This is in fact one of the best recordings of this tour, in quality it has one of the best audio (especially now), good versions, some arrangements would still be modified, in the case of Twisting by the Pool, on the second night in Paris they omitted the introduction of Terry in the drums; the sequence of the Portobello Belle solos, later on they would change, starting with Allan Clark in Hammond, then Hal Lindes and ending with Mel Collins; the introduction of Tunnel Of Love here is still without the bridge that would happen later with Portobello Belle. Anyway, lots of nuances, Dire Straits is a band full of nuances, and I'm passionate about it.

A show with Tunnel Of Love followed by Telegraph Road, I don't know anything that tops that, other than these shows opened epic with an Once Upon a time in The West, in the middle, an SOS of energetic and one more piece of art like Portobello Belle... It's unbelievable what they did and how they did it.
And every time I hear a bootleg from the LOG tour 82/83 again, I'm sure that for me, that was the band's most incredible and creative period, which impresses me the most (I love the original lineup, but that era another band) the atmospheres created for the songs on this tour are worthy of a movie band, the soundtrack of the movie Local Hero has a direct influence on this, it's no wonder that part of it composes the shows of this memorable tour, from the opening to the final show . Lots of amazing textures everywhere, best Sultans of Swing format, a shame they didn't go with it like that, I prefer the synths over the sax, I can hear any version of SOS from the LOG tour in its entirety, it's always exciting.

É uma grande felicidade poder ouvir este concerto. Sempre gostei da Tour do Love Over Gold. No inicio, há muitos anos atras quando comecei a ouvir o Alchemy não tinha a percepção da globalidade do concerto, mas depois, apercebi-me que havia muito mais do que o disco apresentou. Aqui existem pormenores fantásticos que são reveladores das transformações das canções. Por exemplo o inicio de Two Young Lovers. O inicio do concerto é fantastico e altamente dinamico com 3 canções de cortar a respiração. Os Dire Straits eram uma banda feliz. Era fácil perceber que se divertiam a tocar. Obrigado por esta partilha, porque estes documentos apesar de nos dias de hoje serem mais frequentes, não costumam ser tão audiveis.

Awesome work as usual on this already great recording. Love when Tunnel of Love and Telegraph Road followed on from each other on this tour. It's around 30 minutes of sheer bliss. Portobello Belle live is another gem, shame this was not played more often over the years. I also love this intro to Romeo and Juliet over the one used in later tours, just a lovely start to an absolute classic. Thank you once again for sharing :)
