I think it comes down to time, because I think they are the only heavy-metalish "IDOL" group out there, it takes time for people to digest something new....

We've had concepts 100% unrelated with cutesy for just as long as cutesy's been out there, esp with the badass/hip hop concept being the current trend. If you were to say we haven't had a girl group with go so far with a creepy and dark concept since f(x)'s red light, then I'd agree (although that as well is up to debate, as Red Velvet always pops to my mind when creepy is mentioned, although they do it in a total different way from DC)
