Great to see some footage of javelin/grenade HLG’s, before the short lived SAL’s, and the current DLG’s. Sad to see IHLGF gone. Hoping it gets revived some day as IDLGF.
Thank for posting Paul, a friend bought this DVD on your site, I lost count of how many times I watched this documentary. I learned a lot by observing the pilots and gliders. Cheers.
Imagine you would appear at these times with a today Snipe, Stream, CX5 or whatever and they saw a good pilto and a great launcher how they work. These faces would be priceless
I still have this dvd and love it.
Back to the good old days. Good to see John Erickson and Mark Navarre. They have been missed through these years.
Thanks for sharing this, it's pretty special for those of us who could not be there

Such an awesome video paul! I must have watched the dvd a dozen times. Seeing this makes me wish I was around to witness the gliders of that time.
Thanks for posting this Paul, I still enjoy watching the old school.
So much essential and not so common knowledge, thanks for the video!
Thank you!
Thamk u so much I felt like I was there brother.
Discus launch is the only way far a guy my age. Back in 1996 I had a good arm.
Thanks for the great video. Been flying since '78, I just started DLG. Neck straps and antennas! How did I guess Joe won?

Include George Joy to that list of past pilots. He made the Sirius Charge nimh line of battery chargers, I still have one in service.
Hi Paul. Have you done any filming of more modern DLG contests. That you could possibly post.??
Many thanks John 😃😃👍👍👍
Why not bring in an Olympic Javelin thrower to launch one of your gliders, or would that rip the wings off?
Flying a Vortex 3 F5K, it needs a throwing peg!
can you add captions?
