  • Welcome to Mazatlán, Sinaloa! In today's travel Mexico vlog we walk the beautiful colonial streets of Mazatlán and eat comida Sinaloense. Mazatlán seems to be on many people's radar in terms of a vacation destination and as a place to retire- we hope this video, and the videos to come, will give you an insight into what this beautiful coastal, colonial city is like.
Your ultimate guide to things to do in Mazatlán, Sinaloa:
    www.kineticken...
Where did we eat? Muchacho Alegre
Where did we stay? We suggest staying in the Centro Historico part of Mazatán. In our next Mazatlán video we explore the Golden Zone (Zona Dorada), which is another area with plenty of hotels, but I believe you'll have a better time in Mazatlán if you stay in the downtown area near Playa Olas Altas.

Welcome to Mazatlán! The people here are awesome. I’m glad that you are enjoying the city so much. Great introduction to the southern part of the city and its many attractions.. they have a mammoth exhibit at the museum just south of Rico’s Cafe (close to where you started your day). I’ve only lived here less than a year and love this city. Renting right now at Puerto Viejo Skies Condominiums on Ice Box Hill (where all the television towers are and close to the huge flagpole that you walked passed today. The restaurant you ate at does have one of the loudest bandas among the palapa restaurants along the Malecon. The night time bonus clip is typical Saturday and Sunday crowds and fun to walk during that time. Where you recorded was close to Sunset View Luxury Condominiums where I’m having my own condo built. Sounds like the Golden Zone is next on your list and there are plenty of good restaurants throughout that whole area but prices tend to increase due to the tourist trade in that area. Moving north from there up to El CID and the Marina and heading further north gets you into the resorts area. A lot of the newer construction is along northern Mazatlán and Cerritos.
Travel here is cheap with Uber and fun but more expensive with a Pulmonia. Catch a green Sábalo-Centro bus all along the Malecon for just 11 pesos each direction. I hope you enjoy your visit to my newly adopted home city!
Also of interest ... close to the Aquarium there is the baseball stadium of the local pro team and the city is also building a huge new soccer stadium on the other side of the city

Mazatlan is a huge, diverse and incredible city. So many things to do, so many things to eat. Centro is great - galleries, museums, mercado, plazuela machado (esp. at night), performing arts, restaurants, etc. Zona dorada has better beaches, but a more touristy feel - but beach time there and mornings/evenings in centro is great. Further up past the marina, there's Playa Bruja, which is great for surfing, as well as the iconic Mr. Lionso's - awesome place for brunch. For a nice (but a bit pricier dinner) Pancho's is hard to beat. For an amazing ceviche, there are a ton of great places (I really like Los Mejores Mariscos up across from Las Palmas in zona dorada). Hundreds of great taco places (but a shout out to Taqueria Martin as well as a new place across the highway from them who's name I don't recall right now).
Also, don't miss out on Isla de los Piedras across the harbor (foot passenger 'ferries' take you there). It's a chill vibe and great beaches. Good horseback riding. More good food.
Try "asada de la plaza" for some quintessential comida Sinaloense (although the Mazatlan style ceviche is hard to beat - best in the world imho).

A few years ago, they told us to not come and visit because the violence was too dangerous. It will be my first time going in August, and they said it seems like everything is fine now. What are your opinions on this, and do you have any suggestions of things we should check while we are there, because my boyfriend hasn’t been in over 15 years. Thanks!

Its a city with a lot of industry, therefore it has few tourist sites, nowadays its a safe city, you have to take certain precautions only in the periphery, but public places you can be safe. Another great video shows the first nices places you enjoy at Mazatlan and I don’t care about the music but I think you did not enjoy the noise. Moreover o think Hillary didn’t enjoy her food, but all the things happening around you were attractive. I was there many years ago and I love it. Take care 👍🏼🙏🏼🇺🇸🇲🇽

Makre sure you climb the lighthouse, it smells awful because there is a water treatment plan next o it, but once you get ot the top, the view is the best in mazatlan, specially at sunset.

You should try Cenaduría Chayito restaurant, there's one in Golden Zone, other in down town ans one more by Walmart. It's very authentic sinaloense food. Asado es very typical, and about seafood try pescado zarandeado in stone island, also aguachile is good. El fish market it's another good choice for seafood.

I really enjoy Greg's narration to the videos but I need to be honest. I love Hillary as well but her interupting Greg, correcting his pronunciation, and quickly interjecting her own thoughts while Greg is in the middle of saying something has become increasingly disconcerting. I lose my train of thought and wonder if Greg occassionally gets thrown off guard too?
I'd love to include Hillary and her thoughts; just not while Greg is trying to talk. Could you preplan what is going to be discussed prior to recording a video and deciding whom will discuss which parts? I think an orderly transition of dialog will improve your content and be more interesting.
Consider giving this a try and see if it is worthwhile? Keep up the good work. I enjoy your channel.

Fun fact: Unless things have changed since I retired, you can't get a Cuahtemoc and Modelo product in the same place. The breweries are hard core about that. An employee caught drinking a competing product are automatically out the door.

Try the seafood in Mazatlán, it’s probably the best in Mexico. Mazatlán has the largest fleet of shrimp fishing boats in Mexico. Thank you so much for showing the world what the country is really like. You are both awesome!
