    wow, I have now watched all your tutorials and I love your style and the way you explain things. Awesome. A continuous problem I have with C4D is that the tools in many cases don't work the way I expect them to. i.e. I want to extrude a circle on a path. Whenever you do it it works, whenever I do it it is not working coz I don't end up with a tube but with a flat surface, then I try to rotate the circle but it is not changing anything. Or I want to build a turbine so I model one blade and want to repeat it around an axis but it is repeating it in some strange way. I am facing these kinds of problems all the time and it is driving me nuts. Maybe you can address it some day. Another thing I would like to learn is how to bring photorealism into the rendering. That's a wide field of course and I am not talking about Jurassic Park but simple things. A loaf of bread, a plant, a chair, a lamp something like this. thx I really enjoy your work. please continue.

    • @twistereli
      @twistereli  6 років тому +1

      Hi! Thank you for the kind comment!
      Photorealism is something I'm also still learning. For some things it is easy, other things need tons of work to get it somewhat convincing.
      I recognize the kind of problems you're seeing with tools in C4D. Yesterday I was recording something and had to start over 5 times because I forgot to uncheck "create caps" in the extrude tool. It messed up everything.
      The extrusion on your circle is going in the wrong direction, nearly always happens btw. With the extrude object you have 3 values/directions it extrudes on. The 3rd one is set to 20cm by default. Get rid of that and try one of the first 2.
      The turbine blades their axis can be adjusted under the transform tab of your Cloner object. Play around with some values and you'll see what works.
      I know it's kind of vague when I just type it out, but I hope it helps.

    May I know why sometime you use Gamma as 1 (linear?) and sometime as 2.2?

    • @eliprenten7066
      @eliprenten7066 6 років тому +1

      It depends on how much light there already is in your scene and how bright your colors are. So sometimes everything feels a bit too dark and you should bump it up to 2 or something close to that to compensate.
      It's mainly about personal preference, how bright or dark you like it.

    • @giridharzinta
      @giridharzinta 6 років тому

      Thanks, so it doesn't depend on realism. Like for physically accurate renders or while using PBR?

    • @eliprenten7066
      @eliprenten7066 6 років тому

      It's kind of like an advanced brightness&contrast setting. Decreasing gamma makes dark areas lighter and light areas darker. Increasing gamma makes dark areas darker and light areas lighter.

    Do you maybe know about a book or something like that which teach C4D? I want to get started use this software but I don’t know how to use it. I know you have some tutorials about specific models to build on C4D but I’m looking for a comprehensive guide. Thanks in advance for your help :)

    • @twistereli
      @twistereli  6 років тому

      I haven't read a book on it myself. Videos are probably the clearest way to learn C4D. But I understand your desire to learn about the why and how of certain things.
      For that I suggest using the C4D help function like shown at 7:08 in the video. That's basically the interactive manual made by Maxon. At the left of the window you can see the whole contents.

    • @itayherzberg9913
      @itayherzberg9913 6 років тому

      Twistereli OK. Thanks for advance on your time. Do you going to do in the future some guides about using the software herself? I mean, to do a more guide about C4D.

    • @twistereli
      @twistereli  6 років тому

      I'm not sure. It may happen some day when I know more about C4D myself.

    • @itayherzberg9913

      Twistereli WOW. According to your models on the videos it’s look like you are a professional on C4D. Where did you learn to use this software?

    • @twistereli
      @twistereli  6 років тому

      Oh no I'm absolutely not, but thanks for the compliment!
      I learned it by being forced to make a big project in it. I followed some basic tutorials (mostly from Mt.Mograph & Greyscalegorilla) and then just googled every problem I came across in my own projects.

      Definitely trying! The problem with these large tutorials is they take so much time to make. Unfortunately it is not just the 40 minutes of recording for me, 1 video usually has about 6-8 hours of work in them.
