I find very interesting many individuals fail to realize, no fault of their own. The dressing of a decadent has challenges and isn’t like dressing a living individual. Weight and lack of flexibility, being two challenges. Dressing Mort was a good representation of dressing a decedent, however you and I know it’s not that easy. Best regards
I always cut up to the last tiny bit of the neck and place the shirt over the top of them, place their arms in, and then go up to the head and the shirt over the top of their head. If that can't be done, just cut all the way through and then put a pin in the back.
If you wait to dress him after rigor is gone there is not a need to cut the shirt. I really dislike when funeral staff do this. I understand it maybe a timing factor, however I also know that it can be done. I feel it is disrespectful. Just my personal opinion
Did you know by this time rigor is gone and embalming has been performed... if I have someone who I can't get a shirt on how would you expect us to get it on and the arms do not bend very well after embalming...
Are bodies flexible enough to bend the elbow or wrist to get the arms in? What if Mort wanted to wear a dress? 🤷🏻♀️ would it take 2 people to sit him up and pull a dress over??
Don't know if dressing a client is covered in embalming/mortuary school or something one learns during apprenticeship, but maybe for demo/practice, you should consider using life-sized drawing practice figures for more plausible limb manipulation. Like plushy Mort, they're not perfect, but they do add a restricted range of motion that's closer to an actual corpse. Also, maybe one doesn't always use them, but another level of "realism" would be putting plastic undergarments (don't know the proper word for the pants & shirts) on the deceased.
@@candicel7683 who picked out that outfit,? very outdated,no disrespect intended of.course! What if you have someone that the family hasn't brought clothes? Do you have some kind of catalog you get clothing from? When my brother was stillborn in 1961, I saw a picture of him in his casket. I know we didn't bring clothes for him. I am trying to find a picture of what he may have had on for my mom. She wasn't allowed to go to the funeral. Thanks
My Dad passed away and he did not have a pair of suitable shoes available and wore a larger and wide size so we were unable to provide shoes. I felt bad about it but watching this video helps to understand that it's ok. 🥲

That’s great are you also going to do a female version to? I always find this stuff fascinating
Yes, I will be doing a skirt and a dress in the next few days

They are not as flexible as him. And I'll do a dress and a skirt tomorrow. And try and get it up
👍👍👍👍
Do you have to cut the clothes in the back?
I try not to but sometimes
Interesting in why put underwear on the deceased …?
Great video! 😀I have interest in knowing more of how organ donors. I’m an organ donor and I’d like to know more about it.
I'm working on a video for that
Death Becomesher thank you so much! 💕 love your videos!!!
How was it dealing with a COVID death? Like was ya scared to touch them?
No I make sure the face stays covered
Can anyone get a job dressing bodies for their service or do you have to be a mortician?
Well normally the funeral director/embalmer dresses but we do have people that help
What if the lights go out n you are stuck with a dead body? Is it scary or nah?
I don’t think it is for me but curios to know what others think?
Not scary, mostly scared of the living
I love your videos

Do you dress everyone on your own or do you have someone else with you? Is their a rule/law that requires 2 people in the room?
Yes, I normally dress the person myself, and no there does not have to be 2 people in the room.
Does it usually take more then one person and would family be able to dress them
Normally one person dresses the person and of course the family can dress their loved ones. A funeral director will be there to help.
Very interesting. I’m sure this is much more challenging with an actual corpse.
Can u make Mort a women and dress it to
Yes, I have a skirt and a dress as well
shouldn't a mask be worn
why?
Where did you get the demo person from?
Sloppy please fine tune that outfit
Well the clothes don't really fit him either. He is about 2 feet to short

The funeral home may have had clothes for a child at that time. Some funeral homes still do have extra clothes for people who do not bring them.
@@candicel7683 thanks
Why was your mom not allowed to go to the funeral? Sounds a bit unethical if you ask me.
@@lynn-marieflechner5406 At that time it was rare that a mom was allowed to see, hold or attend the funeral of a newborn.
