Probably some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen! Wow! Thank you! ....I think we'd skip that last night hike. Glad you're both OK. Guatemala now on list to see!
The cinematography in this video is excellent. Felt more like a short film rather than a vlog! The views are breathtaking. Well worth the journey, I'm sure. You guys are living life!
That bright red eruption was fantastic! I love the place where you are staying with the beautiful lake and view of the volcanic action. Awesomeness. Enjoy! 😊
When I was 13 years old (1993) I lived in Guatemala. Haven't been back since Thanksgiving 1994. Never got a chance to hike the volcanos, but I remember watching activity on Fuego from the roof of our apartment building in Guatemala City.
Gautamala is so beautiful.Have Gautamalan acquaintances living in Australia.I am wondering what made them leave such a beautiful country.May be politics like in many other beautiful countries that make people leave them .Gautamala_you are BEAUTIFUL.
Well done Chris and Carol. The brutality of the hike, your endurance, the views, the flowers, the dogs in a line, the eruption of the volcano, the scenery, as amazing and exceptional as this video is I am sure it only conveyed a small sense of your fulfilment and oneness with all that is. Thank you for doing what you do, educating us and bringing a snapshot of the magic you experience to our screens.
That line of begging dogs was cute!😊Beautiful flora in fertile volcanic soil!😊The shots of the smoldering volcano were simply amazing!Your faces say it all, brutal ascent and descent, but you managed the hike in good health, congratulations!Safe travels!👍🍀
Great video, quite a change from the walks on the beaches. The mountains and cloud scenery was great. And the best part, I got to see all that you saw without the hike!
The night shots of the volcano erupting were so spectacular. That was one of the best things I have seen after following your vlog for 2 years.😍Also the photography in the morning while you were eating breakfast was breathtaking.
Fabulous, what a challenge and victory guys…well done! Superb filming as always, the night time shots were very atmospheric. Take time to recover and thanks as always 🤗
In my opinion some of the best coffee in the world comes from this region. For those mountain views and a cup of hot coffee, I would do that hike. Amazing…..
The toilet brought back bad memories of our state by Lake Atitlan! Great experience but wouldn't repeat it lol. I'm happy to see this hike from your POV because we simply arent brave or fit enough lol . PS Carol is so beautiful 🙂
Those captures of the volcano erupting were absolutely spectacular! Awesome hike and it's shocking to hear how difficult this was compared to your Himalayan trek. I'm so happy to catch up on your videos, work has been hectic and it's refreshing to see your continued travels. As always stay safe!!
The hiking section of this vlog was amazing, the way you put it together was very atmospheric , watching the shuttle segment afterwards gav the feeling of being exhausted. Awesome vlog and spectacular footage of the eruptions. !
Wow! That is a hard hike! I’ve never been to Guatemala, but have experienced altitude sickness on Mauna kea Hawaii. Glad you guy’s came through it okay! I’m glad the fog didn’t come in on you at night🫤
@ Nowhere near as adventurous as your wonderful, in-depth videos, but I have a new video coming in a couple days. Maybe you might want to check out northern Vietnam soon: ua-cam.com/video/NN1Mcq68M8s/v-deo.htmlsi=Jz0c447GbZNqMyRi
great footage, we have actually been to all those places in your video in 2019. We have videos on our channel from them but they were older ones so not as good as what we make now. We loved the north so much though
Epic, best vlogs on UA-cam. Tip for your next hike - get yourself some dehydrated meals. They’re super light to carry and you only need water and a small stove. Better than carrying a heavy cooler to the top of a mountain! It’s especially important to pack light for treks like this and makes the experience much more enjoyable.
Wow!! 👏 congratulations to the both of you on that difficult but gratifying hike. The views were breathtaking and every bit of the effort was worthwhile. And I think that you are ready for Mt. Kilimanjaro!
Thank you for this video, Chris and Carol. I love it! I can’t believe you guys saw a volcano erupting. I know I can never do this hike so it can’t be in my bucket list.
Congratulations on an epic video! Your journey to Acatenango and Fuego is incredibly thrilling and courageous. You've beautifully captured the raw power and majesty of these volcanoes. Keep up the amazing work and continue inspiring us with your adventures! 🌋🎥🌟 Greetings from Portugal 🇵🇹
In my opinion that's one of your nicest Videos! 35 years ago I hike to the highest point of Afrika Mount Kilimanjaro. That was the same pain, but I would not miss it, because it was a nice adventure.
I did this hike in 2021, re visiting guatemala in january ❤ I didn't find the hike too difficult, I've hurt my back since, so this time for me might be difficult, thx for sharing
@@JumpingPlacesI never did the fuego hike. Doing it this time ,il let you know. :)Lolz . Overall the acatenango hike wasn't so hard, i did it twice in a week. Coming down the second time was quite rough, my legs get the shakes & I was so tired after hiking her again.
I was there in March and was quite lucky with the weather, sunny to start with but cloudy on top to start with, cleared once dark and clear in the morning. I found the hike tough but ok physically but the altitude killed me! Didn't get sick but breathing became harder even though I spent 3 days in Antigua before to try an acclimatise a bit! Because of this didn't go to Fuego which right call i think as could still see the eruptions from camp. Did do the sunrise hike which was extra special as were lucky enough to have clear sky's.
I just want to say this was no doubt one of the toughest videos? the State of Puebla, Mexico just a couple hours south of Mexico City has a wonderful Volcano that erupts quite often. During a few months stay I witnessed nearly daily puffs and several very beautiful eruptions with fire and brimstones Sparkling down the mountainside. Hopefully I will be there next month. I love Mexico!
Wow!!!! This is an amazing video. What beauty! Your both awesome to do the hard work. I'm impressed with you both. The volcano éruption was great. Unbeatable scenery. Thank for sharing.
Great video. Keep posting more of Guatemala. I love unpopular destinations. ❤ By the way… Are you guys recording with a new camera? I am loving the great quality. Safe travels!
yes we have been using the dji action 5 now instead of the gopro. It is much better on cloudy days and in dark situations. The gopro would have been bad during this trek
AWESOME! I think this is your best video yet. What an adventure and what an accomplishment for you both! Super proud of you guys for doing this. Carol wanting to go back and do it again!? She's a warrioress! Go Carol! I wish I had done this while I was young, I think my body just wouldn't hold up now. Heidi from CC did this one also and it too was a great video.
Brilliant video Chris and Carol but sorry you didn't enjoy the trek especially at night time, The eruption was great to see and I'm glad that you caught it. Safe travels guys!!
yeah if we had just stayed at the base camp and chilled there it would have been better haha, still all worth it though. Might not see anything like that ever again
Seems like a real good deal for the money. Pretty cool to see an active volcano. One of my bucket list items. Was at Mt. Etna two weeks ago but no eruption. Darn.
Wow! But you guys did see the eruptions with a clear sky, you can even see the stars in the back, I got it once with the milkyway on top of Fuego, by the way the other Volcano that you spotted on your left was Agua 🌋

It's the real deal! cheers :D

Guatemala beautiful
Wow! That eruption at night was totally worth the hike-truly spectacular!
yeah lucky it wasn't overcast the whole time!

the dogs do the entire trek every time, up and down :D Luckily they get lots of food on the trek, healthy doggos :D

Great video! Definitely different than your other trips/adventures!
Wow for the view of the eruptions. I did feel the exhaustion of Carol. 😮

Absolutely agree oneshould have cardio fitness and acclimate slowly.. Well done you too
Amazing…🙏

Top of the world! What a beautiful video, and now for Atitlan! Kudos to both of you for pushing through such a challenge.
Thank you very much!

Great episode this week guys! I really think it should be an award winner for something fantastic shots of a live volcano. That’s so great.
Most probably my favourite of your experiences.
One of our favorites for sure :)

!
Yes the majority of the people ended up taking a nap real quick on that shuttle back haha
Guatemala 🇬🇹 is fantastic
Great job on the footage here ❤
Wow, this is amazing!
it was something else!
I would just have booked the lake with the view and seen the volcano from there...no way to that hike..😂😂
The lake is in an entirely different area. You can't see Fuego from there.
You can see fuego from the lake, we showed it around 21:25. that shot of the volcano was from the lake, it is very far though
Exactly! Hehe!
Wow! That is a hard hike! I’ve never been to Guatemala, but have experienced altitude sickness on Mauna kea Hawaii. Glad you guy’s came through it okay! I’m glad the fog didn’t come in on you at night🫤
wow didnt even realize hawaii had a volcano that high

Amazing video guys! I find myself wanting to go hiking! 🎉
That shot of the eruption was perfection Chris, great job man!
Excellent video! A real reality check on the nature of the hike. Reminded me a bit of the four-day Inca road hike to Machu Picchu.
Anything warm it really be soothing

Looks like it would be a nightmare if you get heavy rain while up there. But the eruption was fantastic!!
yeah that trail with rain would not be fun lol
Well done guys for completing the hike. I was there last year but got too scared to hike as many people I spoke to were not able to finish it.
Finally, another hiking video❤ been waiting for it

annapurna didn't have any single day of trekking that was this hard. we also didn't do such a big increase in elevation in a single day
