In todays video we talk about if you should be farming familiars or exp in maplestory reboot to prepare for newage! I go over all of the averages to hit certain boss familiars and show you how much EXP you need to level up in maplestory reboot!

Awesome data! For me personally its also very clear what I should be doing. I can only grind a few hours per week. And getting boss fams would be a nice boost in damage. I'm still doing mostly midgame bosses (before BM) so that Boss Damage boost would be huge. And I can't grind enough to make any meaningful levels for my sac progression, plus i dont care about endgame bosses all that much.
I know the chances of getting boss damage familiars are low, but if I do get them it would save me time later. So I can then grind those 6th job materials in Grandis. So far the current trend is that leveling and getting the 6th job resources is going to be easier over time anyway. So might as well try to get lucky before I focus on 6th job.
yeah 100% understand that position aswell! it's easier for me to say not to farm fams when I currently have them, BUT I do wish you the best of luck and PRAYING you hit that 40/40/40 XD. Good luck man keep up the amazing content!

Ty for showing the reality of familiars. I never got a boss familiars while training to 275 at Limina. Once Cernium came, I never looked back. I liberated w.o. boss familiars and oz rings as a Phantom! Boss familiars are a privilege not a necessity. You can always get familiars with other characters ~

Hey, do you have data on any potential changes as it relates to dailies/quest exp now and in New Age? I don't farm much and that's my method or lvling, will there be changes in the future and how much slower/faster will it be?
if you don't farm that much the EXP "nerf" will actually be a buff for you since dailies are giving so much more EXP!
Spitting at 3:15 - 3:37. A good way to think about it I feel is that you NEED levels to do later/end-game content, you don't NEED boss fams for anything in the game besides like Extreme mode shit. I do think someone can make the argument that they can always level later, and that fams might get removed and become legacy or something though. With Nexon who truly knows lol. But like you said near the middle-end of the video, I'd personally highly encourage players to farm whichever they want (exp vs fams), as long as they have the proper information before making their decision. And not that anyone asked, but here's my perspective on why I specifically have been farming fams still in Limina (I'm a DS main, keep that in mind):
**1. My (lack of) Ability to Grind:** I don't have it in me to grind super heavy all the time, so I choose to farm fams in Limina since it's super easy farming. I'm doing this until Night Troupe comes where I'll then use my actual ability to grind for the most gains at Cern. This decision is also made to prevent me from burning out, especially since I plan to farm hardest when New Age hits for 6th job mats.
**2. Meso:** The current state of my character can and will benefit tremendously from the next SSF event, so the 1b/wap tp farming at Limina will go a very long way for me; since I can only train at Cern in full damage gear atm.
**3. Decent EXP:** Since I'm only level 263, farming at Limina still gives me passable exp, especially for the work it takes. This plus the meso plus the "chance" at getting good fams makes it very worth it for me, especially since I wouldn't be doing nearly as many waps if I were to be grinding with a real and involved rotation at Cern.
So yea, I definitely agree levels are way more important right now because of reasons mentioned in this video; but make your best choice based on your own account and ability/time to play the game folks! Except for during night troupe. You're griefing if you aren't doing at least SOME exp grinding during night troupe. Lmaoo, and ofc they should add fams to Grandis come on now.

I would still go for a large drop fam since it's super important for 6th job farming and it also works on pitched and oz boxes. I was grinding on my second main for my third boss fam since I had two 20% boss fams and by some miracle I hit 40% boss and 20% ied on one fam so I'm gonna call it a day on that one. But I agree that the system is poorly implemented and the hours you have to put in is ridiculous.

Noob at the game here... sorry but I got some burning questions about Familiars D:
1) Is there any difference between farming familiars of strong/high level monsters vs. low level ones? Aren't the effects random regardless?
2) Do I really have to collect thousands of familiar cards to get a single familiar to Unique/Legendary? And if the effect sucks do I have to collect another set of thousands of familiar cards to take a different Rare familiar to Legendary?
3) Since you re-roll effects after ranking up a familiar, doesn't that mean that a Familiar's effect does not really matter until you get it to Legendary?

1.) no difference, but the reason people always have "high level area" fams is because the mob count is high which means MORE FAMS xd
2.) yes it's a 40% tier up rate from epic > unique, and every fail it goes DOWN 50 fam points. usually costs around 250 per unique
3.) you can only get legendary in reg server. reboot you can only get to unique

I've heard this so many times but LET US REROLL FAMS FOR MESO. Fashionstory players will be happy and mid/late game players can now focus on the new content without FOMO...

How many hours average is it for large drop fam?
I used all my fams from 245-260 and didn't even get a large drop. Definitely not grinding fams for boss because that's not happening.

I would honestly just farm in liminia until you have 40 or 50 SAC!
With tactical and sixth you might be able to get some symbols quicker than dailies

At least grind for large drop. Along the way, you might land a good boss fam. No large drop is very bad for any later content.
I feel for my Reboot friends. This is precisely the kind of thing that keeps me playing in Bera. I hope you all get thrown a bone and Grandis fams come out.
I've been getting around 3-4% per 30 minutes, and thats at lvl 255. Which is 12-16% per WAP. But you are saying 22% from 260-270. What am I doing wrong? 😕
260-270 gets you higher rates bc although the amount of xp require to level up is pretty much doubled compared to like 250-260 the monsters in grandis (260+) give you like 3x the xp of lim and below mobs

Leveling is faster after 260 cause Grandis EXP is that much better

The thing with fams is they have now became legacy content that you should not think of. The only thing that matters is 6th job because it is guaranteed 150% fd after grinding out 1000 hours to max of the current few skills we get in new age. If grinding out fams gave the same 150% fd it still wouldn't be worth it because you could hit in the same 1000 hours or go double or triple. It would be like not taking a really good job off that pays well instead continuing to work your low paying job and putting your savings on lottery tickets because you could get lucky and become a millionaire. Fam farming is only going to become worse when they add more skills to 6th ensuring we will never get the same fd% from fams.
Or people like me that has the jr boogies that i had from when it was first introduced xD

I have 2 30% Boss Fams I got from sheer luck. My friend grinded from 255 - 275 in Limina and has never seen a boss fam. The system is super garbage.

farm exp on main, farm fams on hexa burn.
Make your hexa burn to 202, get full meso/drop gears and by the time youre 260, youl have a nice amount of fams to open.

Been an on-and-off player for years now, and this is the first time I'm even trying to use familiars. I have failed 4 times now trying to go just from epic to unique on a single familiar, and let me say this shit SUCKS.

Just as a counterargument, I would only skip limina if you never plan on ever going back to farm for fams, otherwise you're actually doubling the amount of time you're spending. The 600 hours you need to get 3x 30% remains 600 hours regardless of whether you do it grinding from 260-280 or hitting 280 first and going back to farm fams after.
Where you get that precise numbers from? Like 194 epics for 20 boss - its its pure RNG?
