I mean, think about what people will do to get what they desire. It fits.
Destruction is called The Prodigal since he is the Prodigal Son in the family.
He recklessly abandoned his own Domain and Sphere of Influence, destruction.
With Destruction gone, doesn't mean that destruction does not happen.
It just means that it now happens randomly since he left his hands out of his own domain.
Since he felt guilt at the fact that Humans are going to take their destructive impulses in the direction of science, which results in the Atomic Bomb and he didn't want any of that.
So he left.

The concept of the Endless to someone that have suffered a traumatic brain injury, or two... It hits different that some parts of you are stored off-site.

SO hopeful for a second season! This much buildup into a literal universe of stories can't just be dropped right as it's getting its momentum!
Readers of The Sandman: Overture will know that Desire turning up in a literal catsuit in the meetup scene is them very much taking the piss out of their brother due to the things that happened directly before his imprisonment. Desire really is the epitome of the jealous sibling - love and hate and intimacy and competition, all rolled into one endless relationship that neither can avoid entirely, even when they try.
No……..no,no,no,no….the reason why Sandman season 1 has done so well and why general viewers are getting into it is because of how closely they’re fallowing the source material. Neil Gaiman is a producer and writer on the series and seeing as how he wrote the comics he’s making sure Netflix is staying true to what he wrote.
That means there are only the 7 endless and there offspring, such as Orpheus, dreams son, who is responsible for his father’s death.
William Shakespeare does pop up again in “A midsummer nights dream” where dream takes him to the lands of the fay inspiring him to write the play of the same name. So there’s that.
As far as Lucifer getting even with dream, Lucifer does that by setting every condemned soul free from hell, gives dream the keys to hell, and has dream cut off his wings, making dream the new ruler of hell and causing dream a tone of problems because every god wants the keys to that realm.
So yeah, they definitely don’t need to make stuff up on the fly like trop because sandman is so well written and so well developed and so well layered fan’s don’t want a garbage story, they want Neil Gaimans Sandman and he knows it so he won’t let Netflix deviate far
I hope there's a new season, but it must be a high cost to produce such a masterpiece at that level.
About 30 Million per episode in average. A second season might not happen. Unfortunately.

Desire isn't evil. None of the Endless are. Their Nature is beyond the concept of good and evil. Look at destruction.

If you know what the premise of the Lucifer TV show was, then you can easily guess what Lucifer Morningstar is planning to do in Season 2.

@Velvet Boy That's true. But the initiating incident that causes Lucifer to own a nightclub on Earth is the same from the comic, and I doubt that Gaiman is going to veer that drastically from the storyline he created in Season of Mists. That plot point is pretty crucial to the whole story and I can't imagine what he'd write in place of that.
Tom Ellis created his own Lucifer independent of The Sandman just like the whole series was its own thing and definitely became a completely non-Gaiman story right from the jump.
However, as I said, Lucifer's whole reason for being on Earth is lifted right from the Season of Mists storyline (removing all the parts having to do with The Sandman, of course, and replacing it with their own lore). The fact that Netflix's The Sandman introduced Nada into the show seems pretty indicative to me they're going to do that specific storyline as written.

@@KevinSigman I think it's one of my favorite scenes in the Lucifer TV show 😅 And I'm also struggling a LOT to see this version of Lucifer going down the road of emotional piano ballads. We'll need some serious character development to get there. But boy oh boy do I hope they'll deliver.

Desire and Dream AKA Lord Morpheus are natural antagonists, ultimately though despite differences of perspective ironically they work for exactly the same ends. When Dream is locked up and does not attend their familly reunion Desire is quite upset, understandably so, she/he cannot exist without dream and vise a versa. You might actually see them as twins, which is exactly what they are albeit endless or of The Endless.
I love how Lucifer isn't played by a man, Angels of course are sexless, neither male or female, they don't have genitals, and simply cannot reproduce in any way, except in apocrypha (Nephelim) references which are frankly absurd and illogical to the point of nonsense.
They basically did dream country with the bounds eps, they gonna do season of the mists and game of you

Sandman is highly underrated. I have heard of sandman, since he became a popular comic book character. However since he wasn’t the conventional type of comic book character I never really took notice. But after the Netflix series, I have become totally intrigued. Watching the series over and over. It never gets old.
So I am looking forward to season 2.
I just hope the don’t cut corners.

Nada went to hell not because she defied Dream. She had a love affair with that brother Dream has the most issues with. That’s why she said she will wait as long as it takes for Dream to forgive her.
No? Nada was the queen of an ancient African city of glass, and when Morpheus appeared, she basically instantly fell in love with him. However, since the Endless aren't allowed to be with mortals, her city was destroyed almost immediately after they got together. Nada then killed herself and Morpheus went to her soul in Death's realm and asked her to become his Queen. After she refused, he essentially got pissy and condemned her to Hell for all of eternity.
So, yeah. In his mind, she did defy him.
Lucifer cannot lose to dream in a physical fight so dream has no real chance against her

A shame that The Dream was destroyed
Kinda dumb for Lucifer to kill him considering they're endless, if dream dies a new one comes back...as long as there's people he'll be there, only death will be at the end like she says she'll be the one who turns out the light. Idk I guess if they followed all of the rules the show wouldn't be as interesting.
(Spoiler alert) Lucifer gives up his title of king of hell, gives the keys to dream as punishment for beating him in the game of wits(Lucifer had said one day he will destory dream giving dream the keys to hell is how he did),others came demanding that dream turn over the keys to hell so they can open it back up and be the rulers of hell, Nada is taken by a demon to be held as ransom so dream gives the keys to hell ot him, Lucifer goes and lays out on a beach taking in the rays, leaving his troubles at the door, dream admits he was wrong for putting Nada in hell for that long, Two angels are given the keys to hell to rule over it,The creator burdens them with that task, Nada forgives dream but still refuses to be his queen they part as whatever you decide it is.

because there is no contract between them for season 2 and he plans to change platform for season 2 base on the success of season 1
which means its either Disney+ , Amazon or HBO
His best bet would be HBO, they already have the DC characters.

I don’t want to sound smug, but I purchased a copy before the world discovered Tom Sturridge: I had never heard of him, I was interested in seeing Rupert Graves as William Shakespeare, & the many Sonnets he wrote - inspired by his ‘lovely boy’, & his‘dark lady’
When I saw the lovely boy - played by Tom Sturridge - my reaction was that of the Bard’s...open-mouthed, wide-eyed astonishment! And when the vision of androgynous loveliness spoke...well, you can imagine...
There are a few (expensive) copies on Amazon - but I have a feeling that the BBC ❤️ might figure out a reissue, given the popularity of ‘The Sandman’ or possibly, if someone puts it out on UA-cam...with ad breaks, it could be profitable...
‘A Waste of Shame’ is not a pretty story - it’s basically a tale of love unrequited 😢with prostitution, bawdiness,syphylis, & plague for good measure...oh, & if you don’t blink, you won’t miss Tom Hiddleston - very earnest, & with a mop of golden curls!
I don’t know how I started this...just that the DVD offers great comfort, & quite a bit of joy...

@Velvet Boy I don't think you're being fair. Lucifer will eventually end up in L.A., and he'll run a piano bar called LUX. I know LUX is supposed to be a piano bar. To be fair, I do not completely know what a piano bar is in distinction to a nightclub. I'd assumed it's sort of like a club; or at least some kind of high-end drinking establishment. I am aware that the TV version of Lucifer is very unlike the comics. I still can't picture this version of Lucifer playing piano though. No matter if it's in a club or a bar. I couldn't imagine this Lucifer going to earth and mingling with humans, is what I'm trying to say.
Head Cannon is "I Lucifer" happened. (It is a pretty good book, with accompanying album)
Dream could put desire into hell like his lover, but I don't think that Lucifer wouldn't take advantage of this situation. Also at least one of the original D's is in the null space the void between realities it's so cold that your skin will burn away in a micro second. I have been looking forward to see where this goes, have read seem many many variation's of this story.

Tom should have been Lucifer not the same one from his show but a different version. Gwen just didn’t fit that role for me she is a great actress just didn’t feel her in this role!
