Thanks for the tour of 152! Even though it has a love tap, missing flap, etc and you are not thrilled about changing buses, the Blue Bird Vision is one sweet ride.
I am a bus driver in Montana - I have a 08 BB all american cab forward FE - 68000 miles on it and they are all mine. C7 cat engine - 91 passenger. Blue Bird is the cadilac of all school buses. Mine rides like a travel coach. I currently have 74 passengers - we love our bus!!!!! sadly, we are in our last year with our bus, as the school only keeps busses for 5 years - seams like a waste, as this bus still runs drives and looks like brand new.
Our school uses Illinois central school bus company and we have IC CE buses Thomas and some bluebirds but they are a little older a couple look like yours and some mini school buses!!!! Nice bus I like it
Michael Cousens Same here But I'm 12!! I ride a 2012 Vison, I live it expect it rattles all the time even on a simple bump! The amber light button/Warning lights is on the right side of the driver by the gear shifter & parking brake. We almost crashed a few times because the driver has to reach down on the right side by the parking brake while driving with one hand to turn the Warning/Amber lights on!
I like your videos but the first one I didn't really see but this one 152 out I like when they say morning stuff away from the bus my name is Gary craine Jr
Great looking bus, never seen rear turn signals, or brake lights quite like those ones. Also odd to see one strobing stop sign, and one non strobing. I wonder if that would catch attention better than two strobing signs.
Man, that thing has a loud air compressor!- 7:12 High ceiling and LED lights. Also noted that the rub rails go all the way to the rear emergency door. We lose mudflaps all the time too.
I wish my school district had busses like this. All they have are Thomas and International buses. The only BlueBirds we have are the All-Americans and they are older models.
Around 6:00 a.m., I check in with dispatch to make sure I don't have any new info for my route. I pre-trip my bus. When it's cold, I let the bus warm-up. Around 6:25 a.m., I roll out to start my run. To be a bus driver, you have to be able to work split shifts. From 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Also, be able to work well with kids. When I had Bus 77, I worked as a sub Mid-Day driver. I filled in from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Also had an after school route from 5:30p.m. to 7:30p.m.
@water892 Roanoke City sold the school buses and terminal to a private company based out of Westchester, PA back in 2009. At that time, over 45 % of the fleet either retired, quit, or was force to leave due to their background. I was 18 at the time and saw an ad for school bus drivers. I said "what the hell, I'll try it. two weeks later, I started training and after two more weeks for training, I got a route and started driving. Still am to this day. I still have 152
@thesoulsekr The noise suppressor switch is to shut everything down (fans, heater, radio etc) so you can use it at train crossings. We use them a lot in Roanoke. Lots of railroad crossings
Update from Wikipedia about Blue Bird. Volvo owns 42.5 percent of Blue Bird. You can find out at the Wikipedia website, this one is not letting me post the link.
Interested to see somthing from another country. Tempted to video the Hino, Millstui combo I have. 240,000 kmsand every term gets the body mounts welded back on. Motor pullys flogged to the point they screem, 3 water pumps. ABS lights staying onrock and roll heavan cos the suspension is shot to bits with anti sway bars snapped and shocks (5 sets) failed. A gearbox that lockes out (usualy in a roundabout or intersection so we come to a stop.) This pig was made on a friday and even the manufacturer wont sign a safty cert for it. You guy, s got it good over there regards safety.
@crazyjdkid Kind of.The manufacturer that makes the steering sells to volvo and blue bird but the dash is volvo made. So i guess blue bird had a contract with volvo for the production year that they had those dashes in the visions. My bus is a 09
I'm no longer a school bus driver. I resign back in May. Now, I'm a truck driver. When I was a driver, We could take our bus home from the morning run, but we had to return them to the lot at the end of the day.
@ColonelSterlingJones I appreciate all of the videos and input. Keeping in line with my dad, uncles, cousins, etc that have and had CDLs, I am looking into finally getting a CDL for bus or straight truck. This economy is very rough and having a CDL could definitely pay some bills...and do something I would like too.
No, a few years ago, Ford Acquired Volvo and they were then partners with Ford being the managing partner. Ford divested Volvo with the down turn in our economy, which means they sold Volvo to another group. Does that help?
just your opinon do you like the Visions or Internationals better? i like international better i really dont like the visions too well the ones in our county are 6.7 cummins and the have 6 in the county all ranging from 2010-2012 ive rode in the twelves' none of the others ive rode in but ce 300 i love them to death we have two 09's i like the one havent rode in the other then we got 03 ce's they run good too what does your district manily have on there fleet?
So how often do you all switch routes and how do they assign routes? I know my school system I attended drivers in regular education never switch routes and keep the same route. But after every 3-4 years sometimes longer they get assigned a new bus and keep the same route. My high school route was 5359 when I graduated high school and now he has 5790 which is either a 2008 or 2009 Thomas Saf T Liner C2. And 5359 is a 1999 Amtran with the International 3800 Chassis.
@Dogzforgodzz Will your in the minority, All the busses in my area are conventional and they are way more popular overall then transit-style models, I agree this bus (Blue Bird Visions) have poor view but the other conventional models have a one piece windsheild with better views and they're mirrors in the front so the driver can see the front of the vehicle.
I heard you say that you got 152 because you switched routes, why don't they let you take the bus you already have when you switch? Just outta' curiosity
@ColonelSterlingJones thats pretty cool where my mom drives the school dis owns the buses she just drives them its not a private company a few years ago she was driveing a 1981 inter/wayin gard shity ass bus lol
Personally I never really like the 2009 BBV drivers area! The steering wheel was weird and reminded me a car and the dashboard was so tiny! And yes I'm a fellow school bus driver
@@urielhernandezT150 yes took me a while to realize they partnered with other companies to make this bus. Volvo made the dashboard and airbag steering wheel.
i really like this 152 light if i see 2015 vision of school bus i really gonna love. it

I'm 13 and love the Vision. I ride a 2015 Vision. Propane powered, with Roush engine
No one cares about your age.

I ride a new 2018 vision it drives great I didn’t know it looked like this in 2009
They haven't changed the look much other than the dash.
Yea The steering wheel and the top speed is 140mph they make a propane and gasoline it is really nice
Man, that thing has a loud air compressor!- 7:12 High ceiling and LED lights. Also noted that the rub rails go all the way to the rear emergency door. We lose mudflaps all the time too.
The brown above the door is a head guard, so someone tall won't hurt themselves when exiting.
I wish my school district had busses like this. All they have are Thomas and International buses. The only BlueBirds we have are the All-Americans and they are older models.
From the way the gauges look, I assume Visions either 04 to 07 or 08 to 10, were made with Volvo gauges.

@NJStormSpotter Yeah, I miss 152. Loved that bus. I personally put 10,000 miles on it. 77 is a nice bus but it doesn't beat a Vision
Thats a nice looking bus!!
I wonder if turbo blowout is common in these. That put one of ours down for several weeks.
Nice Bird!

@kody912 All of our buses that have cummins are 6.7
Pretty nice Vision
Our head start schools here use those buses.. they're not really long tho
like how it turns on

+Deborah Segers hi
1501 and 152 for my district are Thomas C2's. 153 is a Thomas HDX.

Does Blue Bird have a thing with Volvo trucks? Because the steering wheel and dash computer are very similar to Volvo Trucks
What exactly does a 'noise suppressor' switch do? Never heard of it.
Richmond City will be getting these real soon
I ride a 2002 ic ce 300 at PMSD i love ICCEs

the cummins in this bus is it a 6.7?
Did BlueBird get rid of the exterior light monitor?
I quit driving school bus in May 2009. I drive semi
how do u have this video then?
I meant I quit driving in 2012. Sorry typo
+Spartan077 ohh lol

nice bus
Nice vid
Nice bus
@ColonelSterlingJones thats pretty neat
Air ride on a bus, yeah I would get creative if I bought one second hand. it's lay frame after I was done lol.
pay depends where you live and, if you work for district, public or work for private transport.... that said, i make 19.30 on my 2nd year
Bring my Thomas next week
From my guess, Its a air vent for the air filter.
i see no bluebird logo on steering wheel and are those signal lights at startup yellow?
The bluebird logo tends to fall off on these older visions
I think bluebird is a division or something under volvo.
It's the safety crossing gate
R.I.P. Earbuds at 4:40 lol
Next video you should show how to open all emergency exits
@yourjelousofmytwinki starting pay is 12.05 hourly
How come it has a Volvo Cluster? Do Volvo have shares with Bluebird?
And how many hours would a full time driver make?
I heard you say that you got 152 because you switched routes, why don't they let you take the bus you already have when you switch? Just outta' curiosity

My bus happens to be newer and it doesn't have LED lights and has a manual door. Goddamn my bus company is cheap.
SkyDefender the strobe LED lights are really good. I prefer them over the regular lights
+Spartan077 Yeah. There's only one bus in my area that I know of that's full LED.
03-269 you have a cdl do u drive a bluebird?
No.
Cory Harmon
looks like a volvo
爺澧 Bluebird and volvo have some kind of relation I believe.
ProcrastiNate because I see the dash looks same, the blinkers and the speed meter Is similar to Volvo's
爺澧 It really does. Im not an expert on it but it looks a lot like the volvo dash on Euro truck sim 2.
Personally I never really like the 2009 BBV drivers area! The steering wheel was weird and reminded me a car and the dashboard was so tiny! And yes I'm a fellow school bus driver
The volvo gauge cluster
that bus is by volvo
No
@@urielhernandezT150 yes took me a while to realize they partnered with other companies to make this bus. Volvo made the dashboard and airbag steering wheel.
Bluebird does that in 2008, 2009 and 2010
My bus is the same
@mazda3guy00
