A fan of psp go here... I modded the battery with a higher miliamp and attached to back, and also added a tp4056 charger circuit and micro usb port because i hate that propeitary charger port. This gives the ability to charge the battery and get tv out without having the elusive dock. And battery in the back added a good layer of thickness so it is more comfortable to grip but not so much that it impairs portability. Good luck on the memory card project, i may try that it is in my to do list for a decent time... Edit : i wrote to say if you remove original battery you will have room for sd card project. Original battery has no thermistor or spesific charge ic any 3.7 v battery can work with psp go (which is not the case with other psp models)
Be careful with the tp4056, some of them are not well made and result in overheating. Some people in the gameboy community have had bad experiences with these. I own a few and they're all fine but I still check them regularly
I put cfw on mine (it took ten minutes), picked up a 16 gb Sony card for it - combined with the 16 gb on board it's golden for space, considering I'm just transferring the roms from my pc. 32 gigs holds a number of games but one can also just load them as one plays them, and switch them out as they're finished.
32 GB is a lot of space. I only have the 16 GB internal storage and I've got 16 games on it which includes both God of Wars and all the GTA games. Keeps me entertained for hours.
Good luck you mad lad. There isn't a lot of room on there, so I hope you're ready to make it fit! Alternatively might consider 3D printing a custom backing for the PSP Go, but that could be a lot more work. My serious suggestion: find a Go that's in worse condition and test on that.
I want to make my own adapter, pretty much the same as the one shipped to you by aaamods. Could you point me in the right direction of where I can see the materials on how to make these that you mentioned in the video? Thanks! and great video
Its a PCB with a ribbon cable that solders to the PSP microsd adapter - www.amazon.com/Funturbo-MagicGate-Playstation-Portable-Handycam/dp/B07F68FCHD there are also guides on the internet to make it yourself

Hi Scott - Did you end up doing this? I'm pursuing a slightly different path than yours. I'm thinking to still use the ribbon cable and connector, but I want to take apart the adapter to make it as slim as possible because currently it only appears to fit if you cut off part of the back plates plastic. It's tiny pieces that you're cutting off but I'm big on soft mods being soft mods. Specially when I forked out quite a bit of cash to get a new PSP Go in 2023.
i messed up a little. so its a learning experience. I still have the original battery. I keep hearing that the aftermarket batteries are not the greatest. I my just buy a new battery cell and an aftermarket battery and see if i can get hte best of both worlds. or use the OEM battery circuitry
YES, I have tested upto 265GB. Some people may like the larger storage. But I find that the bigger the storage the longer it takes to load every time you go back to the menu. I would recommend 64GB for speed and 128GB for size. 265GB takes like 10 to 12 seconds every time you go back to the main menu of games.
@@ScottBruder I couldn't get 256 GB to work on my PSP-1000, 2000, nor the 3000 models I have. Kept getting format failed with an error code 80220087 using a genuine SanDisk that worked great in my 3DS. Formatted to FAT32 (obviously) with cluster size of 64K. How did you get 256 GB to work?
you can get some off brand reproductions online. you can also get real PSP and PSPGo displays that have been pulled from broken systems. I believe that there is someone who makes modern displays to go in PSP's

You should do some videos on your psp it sounds amazing

Subscribed looking forward for the result, someone else had such a project but then changed his mind affair.
can you tell me who the other person that wanted to do this was?

Your adapter is amazing. I like your quality. If you could build and design a PCB to make the internal mod easier I would buy it.
