Wow! At 45:46 a tiger moth passes in front of the camera with the registration T-6953 clearly visible. This number also appears in my late father’s flying log book. Could this possibly be the same DH82A that he flew on 9 August 1944 at 4EFTS, Pendleton, Ontario during his RAF pilot’s training? PS Great video, really enjoyed it.
A nostalgic look back to a simpler, more carefree time. I can only imagine what the UK Flying Clubs were like in the early 30's, when grass fields were everywhere and the skies echoed with the sound of Cirrus and Gypsy engines. 🙂
My Grandad earned his RAF Fighter pilot wings in the States after crossing the Atlantic during the blockade on the Queen Mary. He always talked about the Tiger Moth and the Harvard.
1:14:48 that was close enough!!!!! feels like DH Puss is heavy as a brick or pops wasn't aware of those trees in the background. Flying beauties in general. Great video except for that music band.
This is going straight into my 'favourites folder' :-)
I love the de Havilland Moths.

As good as being there - which I was. Great coverage. Thank you.

I say, Well done old chap!
Outstanding…👨✈️
wonderful
very magic!
strange how the tigers engine rotates clockwise.
Does anybody know the name of the first piece the band plays here?
Whiter shade of pale
what are those german aircraft?
Fiesler Storch, FW 44J Steiglitz, it mentioned in the commentary but hard to hear over the other engines.
Film schön, aber Musik auch - Procol Harum.
