Thanks so much. Glen
Good exposed concrete Glen! The lil addition gives your step character!! Its good to see the electrician on site! Get your frame inspection, insulation and sheetrock!! Almost there!!
Well done Glen. I'm impressed with your eclectic construction skills.
This will be a nice humble abode. Good job.
It's not a mistake. It's a feature.
It's looking good, Glenn!
Looking like a nice place to live!
I love your videos. It doesn't matter if you're blacksmithing, building a home, or scooting around Taiwan, they're all interesting. Being a detail oriented guy myself you left me wondering about that whole septic aeration pump problem. You said that the whole situation could have been avoided, I'm just wondering......how.
I am wondering about your future plans. You mentioned installing the septic system three years ago and this summer building the house. Does that mean that you'll be moving to Washington state soon?
For those that don't know, your tongs are absolutely top notch tongs! They are hefty, smooth, precisely made, and very clean. I bought eight pairs from you a few years back and although I have tongs from other makers, yours are the best. I am in a small amateur blacksmithing club of 12-15 guys and they are in agreement that you make some mighty fine tongs.
I was around exposed aggregate sidewalks for many years. They are pretty but almost universally slippery.
Seems like it never ends when building a house yourself. It will.
Buen trabajo.
I like the "inset" on the cement pad, Glen! Looks perfect, like a cement welcome mat! 😂👍😁
Ugh oh you made a big mistake ! Rebar needs minimum of 3 cm concrete thickness from all sides ,othervise it rusts and as it rusts its gonna crack the concrete. Not a big deal in your case since you can just sledge hammer it and make a new one ,but thats the most common mistake people make.
Its also good idea to use a brush and put rust remover on rebar and then coat it with a hydro insulating cement( Ceresite cr90 for example.) on it with a brush .That way +concrete thickness = no future problems.
Moving right along Glen. Going to be a very nice comfortable home. Nowbthat im old i wish i had my first house that was only 1042 sqft. Less to clean than the 3500sqft.
Spider's a momma black widow 🕷
The house seems to be moving along quite quickly thats good. do you have an idea f how much longer it will be before you can both move in
Mate, coming along fine. Nice job.
Gs goldpanning…? Hammer on Glen
Really coming along!
