The part about having no friends and sitting endlessly painting dozens upon dozens of tiny toy soldiers only for them to sit on a shelf unused in battle and you desperately try to fight the existential dread so you keep painting anyway because that makes the dark thoughts go away- Well, needless to say, I feel called-out.
The ironic thing is that Miniature Wargames that are aimed at or that are good for beginning players are usually pretty niche and hard for a beginner to stumble over. The three games I recommend for a beginner Wargamer is BRAWL ARCANE28, NECROPOLIS28 and MINI GANGS. All three games are FREE and are easy to find online. BRAWL ARCANE28 uses 4 models per player, is designed to be played on a chessboard and is a fantasy wizard combat-arena game. NECROPOLIS28 uses between 1 and 6 models per player, plays on a small 16" x16" boards and is an undead themed fantasy skirmish game. MINI GANGS uses 4 models per player. Each model has only ONE STAT to remember and is a scif-fi themed skirmish game. The game has three modes of complexity for players to explore.
Awesome video! I’m a big fan of The Silver Bayonet and I’ve just bought a copy of the Burrows and Badgers rulebook. I really like the sound of the dice mechanics on that one!
Great series but Lol, again for me, finding people to play against was really easy when I got into Tabletop games because they played AoS everywhere. I've tried to get into other games like Warmachine and Saga and those groups died out, even before the pandemic. Most of these games you are suggesting I've played at home, alone, or I've just made warbands for and never played yet. I'm still enjoying the videos and considering the games I haven't tried yet. Joe McCullough is one of my favorite wargame authors Frostgrave is my second favorite Wargame, and Ranger of Shadows Deep is the best Solo Wargame I've played yet.

Silver Bayonet (and Stargrave / Frostgrave) are an absolute winner
Thanks there are lots of great suggestions here! I actually just got zona alpha but haven’t tried it out yet.

What’s your favourite wargame, if Frostgrave is your second-favourite?
@@MisterWebb Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.
Did Micheal send you any free miniatures?
Unfortunately not yet my friend, but I would be extremely happy if he would send them to me to review in the future
