People enjoy a good show. When the musicians have talent to back it up it's a lot of fun. I had Alice Cooper back in the early 70's as a kid. Someone has to carry that torch.
Marilyn Manson's real name is Brian Warner... He started as Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids in Florida. His original bassist was Gidget Gein (real name Brad Stewart) and guitarist Daisy Berkowitz (real name Scott Putesky) have both passed away (R.I.P.) after recording Marilyn Manson's debut album 'Portrait of an American Family' in 1994... Bassist Twiggy Ramirez (real name Jeordie White) joined w/ keyboardist/ sampler Madonna Wayne Gacy (real name Stephen Bier) and drummer Ginger Fish (real name Kenneth Wilson) and guitarist Daisy Berkowitz on their first tour... This was the band that appeared on the controversial 1995 music video for "Sweet dreams" by Marilyn Manson in 1995. During the recording of Marilyn Manson's 1996 concept album 'Antichrist Superstar'... guitarist Daisy Berkowitz was fired... and guitarist Zim Zum (real name Timothy Linton) did the tour. Zim Zum contributed to the next album 'Mechanical Animals' in 1998 (which went to #1 on the US charts) before he was fired. He was replaced by guitarist John 5 (John Lowery) who made a huge mark on Marilyn Manson's music from 1998 to 2004... After John 5 was fired, he kept the stage name (John 5) and played w/ Rob Zombie (in addition to playing w/ David Lee Roth and Rob Halford of Judas Priest) and recently joined Motley Crue as their guitarist... He also established a solo career as John 5 and the Creatures.
I saw this tour in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and I had to cross church and religious organizations picket lines to get in the Coliseum, they were handing out tickets to a FREE CHRISTIAN concert across town, BUT HIS stage Show was "2ND TO NONE"
Coincidentally found this 42 minutes after release. Subscribed so I can go back and see what else you have. I grew up with MM, NIN, Korn, Rob Zombie, Slipknot, Tool, Rammstein, etc. Would love to see some reactions to any of those that are new to you.
I was 15 when I first encountered Marilyn Manson as the opening act for NIИ on the Downward Spiral tour in 1995 - the whole performance was both creepy and captivating. Their set began with Manson on stage alone in front of a red curtain where he proceeded to recite that creepy poem from the boat ride in the original Willy Wonka movie. As he finished, the rest of the band began to play and the curtain dropped to reveal them and the rest of the stage. By the end of their set, Manson had stripped off all of his clothes except for some boots and black latex underwear that had a large black dildo attached, which he would occasionally stroke and fondle during his performance. Needless to say, it made quite the impression.
Marilyn Manson goes out of his way to make you uncomfortable i saw him at OZZFEST 2001 and that part in the video where he's wearing that black robe growing to like 20 feet tall he really did that on stage scarred me for life😳
Marilyn Manson is an interesting human being. He definitely went for shock value but when you watch some of his interviews as Brian Warner instead of the stage role, he could be a modern philosopher. Definitely a smart guy but quite troubled, too.
Trent Reznor founded Marilyn Manson. His band, Nine Inch Nails, is so much better. Some of NIN most popular songs - Closer, Head like a hole, We're in this together now, The perfect drug. Check out the music video for The perfect drug for more of a dark, gothic, visual theme for halloween.
LOL. Nothing funnier than some "holier than though", Capitalist hating performer enriching himself and others by hating on capitalism. Great tune, and even funnier if you get the irony.
Yes, definitely NIN! The video for Closer is perfect for this month. Heads up though there is an explicit and non explicit.

NINE INCH NAIL is definitely worth looking into
I've been to a MM concert in 2012 on the day of the Mayan end of the world. That was great!
Don't know much about MM tbh but always liked this song. The mv was Rocktober ready! Check out Johnny Cash's incredible mv cover of NIN's Hurt.
"THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE" was his protest against ORGANIZED RELIGION, especially THE CATHOLIC CORPORATION
glad he moved away from the anti religion cringe tbh

Nine Inch Nails video for "Closer" was pretty messed up. Might be good for October. :)
Oh yeah Manson had some freaky videos. Thanks for the reaction Eddie Nikki Vedder 😂!
Weird Al has a song called Eddie Vedder. Maybe you can give that a watch as Eddie.
Hopefully, she does one of my suggestions for rocktober
Hey Nikki, I think you'll really like Blackbriar's track My souls demise.
