Taking a look at some merch designs I drew a lil’ while ago for the release of HHLR!
Hope y’all enjoy hearing me ramble a bit about the design process XD - lemme know your faves in the comments!
(PS: I took a bit of a break from video work after last month’s uploads so I could recharge my batteries a bit, which is why it’s been a lil’ bit since I last posted. agreed, most dwarve's be they male or femal have stubble or even full on beard's, that they often keep well groomed, though some people out there may not know that after all it isn't eactly common knowlage outside of D&D or people who know their lore and fanticy novle's

I mean like not everybody plays DnD, and not everybody look into lore about DnD. So I don't really find it Amusing.

It's very upsetting to me that so many of these characters weren't in his previous speedpaint, which was only characters still alive... meaning that they are most likely dead...

If Rook did die the closest tattoo would've been the dragon I think, because of his lil companion.
In the d&d campaign I’m in everyone has an instrument but the bard
3 out of my 5 party members have instruments 1/2 out that extra 2 out of 5 is my campaigns bard

My friend has a dwarf with stubble, she was really confused when she asked me to draw them, and i asked if she wanted a beard. I had to give her the dwarf talk too.
I don't know what it is about dwarves, but they are so fun to draw.

Nagar: Cinnamon roll
I loved chapter 1, paddy’s back story is really cool and well written and these drawings are adorable 💚
Honestly I love warm and friendly Dragonborn characters. It’s really nice to see a happy lil cinnamon roll who could also beat you up if they had too
Also, I have a Dragonborn bard who I love. His name is Valentino, and he’s a bit of a flirt, but is more so just a giant adorable doofus. He’s already got a cute little pit bull he rescued from an alley (this world is ruled over by a tyrant king and most of the people don’t live very good lives), and my DM spoiled that she’s gonna give him a kitten and eventually a Dragonborn egg. I don’t know why I just went on a rant I just really love my Valentino
It's okay, dnd characters should excite you and it's a good sign you can't shut up about them. I love this description, I have a soft spot for both Dragonborn and bards, so this speaks to me. Have fun playing Valentino!

I have a white dragonborn named bucket, who was stuck in a magic well because her dad sucks. Thus the magic well turning **her** magic too

I have a Dragonborn barbarian named Anju (nickname Angie) who was basically kept in isolation all her life until she ran away. She is a total sweetheart, but not that wise. She is confused about common sense and normal life in general because of her parents keeping her away from society. She is serious most of the time so she doesn't get embarrassed when she gets something wrong and loves chicken wings lmao
I love how the color palettes are drawn in the shape of the characters! Adds even more charm (the charm level is OVER 9000!)

I'm drawing my d&d characters while I listen!! My first is a rogue wood-elf named Sebastian but he just goes by Bastian, he's loud and very chaotic and sometimes lets his emotions take control of his choices, leading him to scenarios where there isn't a clear way out but he finds his way.
The second is Lyra and she's a tiefling bard, she's also chaotic baby and is a total sweet heart although she cusses like it's her first language. I'm going slightly into her story because it made me cry while writing and I tear up when talking about her story. She was taken in by a dragonborn couple when she was young started adventuring at 14. When she was young she was always seen wearing a yellow ribbon in her hair and whenever her dragonborn dad would go away for weeks she'd wrap the ribbon around his wrist so that he'd have to return home safely to return it. Before leaving on her most daring quest her father wrapped the ribbon around her wrist so she'd come home safely, sadly when she did her home was wrecked and her parents were missing. In her design she still has that ribbon on her no matter what.
Lastly we have Gabriel and he's a Faun, he is awkward and clumsy baby!! He is 5'6" and fits women armor, after a few jokes with my sister he now clothes that look rather feminine. He also has a viking lady love because I rushed to stop her for killing my sister for stealing drinks and rolled a nat 20 to seduce her. He's 5'6" with a strong 5'3" viking lady who insists on carrying him around and dotes on him. It's cute.

I just got finished preparing for my DnD session tomorrow (I'm DMing for some friends). It was nice to be able to sit down and watch this right afterwards, especially since High Hopes really got me back into DnD :D
I’m so sad I couldn’t get Gimgar, Ava, or Torlin, but I have the rest of them as stickers! I love them so much!
These are all so adorable! I can't wait to learn more about the team. Now I've gotta go draw my new character, Lark, in this style cause it would definitely suit him well I think.
As a fellow artist, I can't help but be in awe at how clever your colour swatch blobs are!! I'd never considered shaping them to be kind of person shaped so it was easy to see where each colour would go and I think I'm going to start implementing that into my work!

You have no idea how much this makes me want to draw my current campaign but since it’s prohibition era instead of normal dnd everyone’s human and I can’t draw people for crap. I’ve only ever drawn anthro characters so it’s a bit of a learning curve for me, but honestly you’re one of the people that makes me want to learn how! Keep up the awesome work!

I think he said in that speedpaint that that was the crew he was traveling with at that moment in the campaign where this seems to be more of the original High Hopes crew were starting out with in the series.

Ahhhhhh! I finally got a DND group!!!! I'm so stoked! We meet every Friday after school and build an area in the woods were we play, it's like our home base! I can't wait to join the world of DND this upcoming Friday when we first start. Btw I'm loving your parties characters! The more I see them drawn, the more I love the story behind them! I find it hilarious that in the current campaign I'm playing, I'm playing as an Irish Wood Elf Blood Hunter Werewolf (Too many words...) who never knew his family and was introduced to the party by giving them a message from a doctor I was working for, thinking I was all creative, then my friend showed me this.
And then I was like: "... Welp. There goes my creative dignity..."
Worst part is I'd never seen this beforehand.
I often don’t comment for a few reasons but I did really enjoy this video and your chibi rendering of characters. Their personality definitely shows.
Not recognizing some of these characters from past speedpaints and stuff is making me so scared they're going to die.
(also I think it's cool how you put your color pallets in the rough shape of the character so you can make sure it has good contrast)
