- Compression testing my RB25DET with how to install ARP head studs without removing head off the block. A good mod to have when wanting to make over 300kw/400hp in your car to keep the head from lifting when you out racing or drifting hitting limiter with those cheeky skids!

With bolts, I always go backwards (as if you're undoing it) first while applying alight pressure until it clicks, that way you know the thread is always aligned and it never cross threads. I apply torque in increments, going to 35lb then 60lb then 80lb and never had an issue.
For future use without taking cams out. Get to tdc, 10mm Allen key cut to take stock head bolts out. For studs use 12point 1/2 3/8 socket. No need to take cams out
Hold the throttle wide open, should get better, more accurate results. I just unpluged the injector harness at the front of the intake manifold to stop the fuel.

Need engine at operating temperature and wide open throttle, you will normally see around 10 psi more each cylinder
That's why I did it cold start mate to get a correct reading and once it warms up you know she be good again

You don't need to take out the cams to get to the headstuds bro. If you get a 3/8 10mm Hex that'll get the stock ones out, then a 3/8 13mm 12pt socket will get the ARP ones in. The trick is to get 3/8 size tools man. You can put in ARP studs by replacing one at a time without taking cams out or anything off the front :)
Cheers for the input dude. Didn't have them tools and explained if you grind down that socket it could fit but no grinder and plus never need to do that ever again unless I get another rb25 with stock head studs 😅
jeeze, that cam bolt issue sucks. i would have given up at that point.. at least its a broken off bolt not a broken off drill piece or thread tap, those are impossible to drill out.

Last thing I needed to happen. Balancer and camshaft bolts destroyed just for head studs haha

Exactly right mate too true it shouldn't be at the skate park. I'm out using what energy I have left and my back pain to skate this section of the skate park cause I don't ever get to skate there much anymore and get told that that boys can't skate this side of the skate park only for girls for couple hours.. 20 years of being around a skateboard not once have I heard that happen anywhere and skating is about having fun shredding together get to enjoy the same passion so why the hell are we being split up like damn sheep at a farm. It's a public skate park everyone is welcome to skate with everyone as it has always been. Sick and tired of this shit happening
