Pang literally changed my life. The album is phenomenal, a masterpiece. I have it on vinyl and listen to it daily. It has a permanent spot on my wall where I can look at it everyday.
Caroline polachek is such an incredible siren-esque vocalist. Her lyrics are so wonderful and her portrayal of this relationship are so relatable
This album is absolutely amazing! Caroline, in my opinion, is one of the best artists of our times because she is a full artist! She knows how to sing in a lot of different keys, she is a brilliant songwriter, she produces amazing songs AND she has the coolest ideas for concepts and music videos ideas! (Plus she is stunning beautiful!)

fun fact: there are some theories (and I don't know if Caroline ever addressed this) about how the narrative portrayed on the album is distributed in the tracklist backwards. so the story starts with the last song, with her landing and meeting this someone but then problems arise and then the breakup, and the narrative ends with the first song and her possibly getting involved with someone else but with traumas and insecurities left by the old partner.
Caroline's career is very extensive. You should absolutelly check her former duo's hits like Amanaemonesia and their last album together: Moth. She also have put our singles for a new album and all of them are absolutely amazing, I recommend Billions A LOT.

This album is all about long distance relationship, thus the lyrics “feeling like a butterfly trapped inside a plane”, “ocean of tears”, “you sent me photos, you’re making it worse”, etc.
also, the album will make more sense if you’d start the story line from the last song first going up to the first song. hence, the album cover in which she both may seem going up the ladder or down.

Fun fact: during the bridge on Caroline Shut up, Caroline does a riff that might sound dissonant towards the end, but its actually a sort of reference to Parachute and Door, she even adds the lyric "and ive got to trust it now" which comes directly from Parachute.
I love how parachute calls back to the other songs, also the “what is this” again coming from new normal
begging and pleading for you to listen to magdelena bay - they opened for some of charli's shows - it is pop perfection 1000%

I don’t know if you’ve reacted or listened to her already, but I think if you liked this project, you’d absolutely love Imogen Heap. I really feel Caroline pulled an insaaane amount of musical inspiration from Imogen. Like the parallels are soooo palpable.
If you do ever decide to jump into her, start with Speak for Yourself, or Details by Frou Frou (a duo group with her and Guy Sigsworth)

I would recommend checking out Imogen Heap, after listening to Caroline Polachek I found them to have similar sounds.

It's truly a lyrical voyage into a distressed psyche, that mixes pop with mental illness and distress.
dont know if someone said it already but the whole album is basically about long distance relationships and her divorce and once u know that the lyrics all work in that theme, but i love how many other interpretations can coexist
