I've lived in northern Illinois my whole life... They never get any less scary. That's the point though. The tone is designed to strike fear into all who hear, as tornadoes are not a natural phenomenon you mess around when dealing with. One of the strongest Tornadoes on record (in the world) touched down in Plainfield, just a town over. If you want to see more information regarding this historic storm may I suggest looking up "1990 Plainfield EF5 Tornado" and selecting the ABC7 documentary about the event with narration by Tom Skilling, a veteran Chicago Metro Area meteorologist. I missed that storm as I was too young to know better, however! You can go visit thr memorial for those who perished in the storm (30-40 lives lost from what I recall) as there is a historical monument dedicated to the event. I can't remember which Park it is off the top of my head but visiting is a chilling experience.
I live in bolingbrook, which is right next to Romeoville, anyways...its kinda fascinating to me that you have never heard one before. There are all kinds of tornado sirens, and I've heard alot, but I think this kind that we have are the creepiest. And if not creepy then eerie. I still get chills when I here it.
You mean that one that hit late at night on June 30th? That thing scared the crap out of me.. I was a few miles from where it went through.. First tornado I ever experienced.. Now I don't know if I would ever go back to the U.S after that.
Nintengirl oh yes thtat one i have the vid of me nearly getting eaten by it on my channel lol and where are you from ??? u.s. isn tall that bad ignoring our government
Yeah, I saw the video a little while ago. looks pretty scary. I'm from Canada, Ottawa Ontario. It's a valley, so we don't get tornados or severe storms.
Nice ambience of Federal Signal 2001s, I can slightly hear a ACA P-50 and a P-10
