This video seems to have gone out months ago. But for those who have a similar problem. Drain the petrol out of the petrol tank put new petrol in it change the engine oil with the proper grade oil. Change the plugs and if you have an air filter on the bike change it. Finally if the bike starts take it out for a run for 30 mins until the engine is properly warmed up. Bring the bike back to the garage and leave it there do not be tempted to go out and start it as you will only put it through another heat cycle. Only start the bike when you intend to ride it. Ex Racer and mechanic,💯
Beautiful bike !!! My rc51/sp2 was doing exactly that I thought it was just stale fuel but turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator leaking fuel and fowling the spark plugs over time whilst it sat !! Changed that & cleaned the plugs and was fine .
It's not true that the bike has not been driven, it has been ridden some hundred kilometers every year since 2007 when I bought the bike. Except from one year, when the bike was only started.
if the bike has only been started and not rode the plug will turn black in no time....needs to be rode.....the fireblade was the same....black plugs in no time from just starting......

Yes, beautiful bike😊
Do you have to gap the new plugs or are they pre set ? Great video.
They should be pre gapped, but I always check just in case.

Jup. Absolutely necessary to get some real heat in it once it’s started😊
