I agree with Gilbert Burns placement. A lot of top tier grapplers want nothing to do with him. Even Chimaev said when he felt Gilbert immediately go for the arm bar his mind went “f*ck this” and he stuck to the stand up. To put fear in wrestlers that quickly deserves respect. What Burns lacks in wrestling, he makes up with great BJJ skill.
That’s why I think khamzat isn’t A tier Gilberts grappling put the fear of god in him

Islam should call out Beneil. It’s the toughest fight for Islam and Benny has earned it. If Islam beats Volk, Charles, and Benny he basically cleans out the division. Then look to an up and comer like Fiziev
It was literally gamrot constantly advancing position 4 no reason instead of controlling Dariush did nothing but let gamrot throw away that fight one of the most overrated performances I've seen

You're underrating Burns a bit. Top 3 most successful BJJ guys in MMA, helped develop the no-gi metagame. Aljo is swell, but he's a one trick pony. Gilbert has it all and he beats Aljo in 95% of grappling positions, badly in many of them. Gamrot is trickier to compare him with, but in my mind Burns is basically interchangeable with Dariush and you acknowledge how completely Dariush shut down Gamrot. Ortega peeking into A while Burns isn't even top of B is very interesting, would love to shrink Burns 15% and watch them roll around. I'd probably bet on Gilbert winning.
Gilbert dominates Ortega bad in jiu jitsu or MMA
Burns was always very good in jiu-jitsu but judging from his last performances and especially the fight against Magny i'd say his wrestling and top control have developed to an elite level also and in overall MMA-grappling i'd rate only Makhachev, Khamzat, Oliveira and maybe Dariush above him in the UFC anymore
Finally someone who understands. Absolutely corect boys Burns should have been A tier. He has developed decent wrestling and outstanding jits. I would rate is grappling ability similar to Dariush. Really good grappler.

How tf is rob in b tier when he never uses his wrestling. Izzy stuffed almost every attempt of a takedown in their fights. Rob showed great anti wrestling skills against a non wrestling Yoel Romero. Idk how you put rob over guys who’s styles are literally their grappling like Mosar and cejdo. Love the mma guru but homies definitely bias af when it’s comes to rob.

Gotta disagree about Bo. I get we haven't seen much of it but he's got good BJJ and you can tell by his confidence in it. Giving up full mount to go for a triangle is some shit you can only do if you're extremely confident in your BJJ. I know he’s not relevant to the video, but my god what the fuck was Darren Till doing with Khamzat all that time. I’m so confused how Dricus could basically just push him over with no technique and shooting from so far away. He doesn’t even get a tier just no skill at all.
Dricus' grappling is highly underrated. He could easily be on this list.
Ilia at D is an L. Bryce Mitchell who essentially only beat dudes by grappling had zero against ilia. Come on with the offense grappling. He clearly has offensive grappling when he chokes out Bryce and dominated Ryan ball

Whittaker has more takedowns in his last few fights than Jon does and Whittaker fought better grapplers, Jones fought Middleweight rejects and Reyes.

I’ll admit we should all approach Bo with a sense of skepticism but to deny his potential is ridiculous. Say what you will about the competition, his transitions are crisp and I think he presents a real threat to the mostly one dimensional #10-#15 at MW, how he does in the top 10, impossible to say

You got a point with Umar. But Nate only landed 1 or 2 significant strike in 15 minutes based on the stats. Nate was just on absolute defensive mode. Nate I reckon will atleast land more significant strikes to Aljo even if Nate gets finished.

The biggest advantage to wrestling in mma is not the ability to take your opponent down. It’s the ability to dominate the clinch at all times and decide where the fight goes. Just because Cejudo doesn’t use his wrestling offensively does not mean he isn’t a good mma grappler. His wrestling allows him to go into every fight with 0 fear of being taken down which is huge for the psychological aspect.
Aljo might have more success against other opponents, but put him against cejudo and he has no success because he won’t get him down. Hard to put aljo above him with that being said

Go look at the amount of NoGI Medals Beniel has. (9) 3 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze. Charles has Jiu Jistu medals, but only in smaller tournaments. Now as far as MMA grappling, it's a lot closer. I would have liked to have seen Said Nurmagomedov on this as well. Also, no RDA and Moicano?

When was the last time jones did anything productive in a fight with his grappling? I can't even remember the last submission he got so that barely counts toward his grappling in the last few years. His takedowns had 0 effect on Reyes, and he only managed to get the first one in like the 4th round anyway. The effectiveness of Jones grappling is just theoretical the last few years. We know that it WAS a major part of his game years ago, but his recent fights aside from maybe Anthony Smith it has basically been a non factor outside of point scoring, which isn't what these rankings are about.
Whittaker has extremely good TD defense against people who really want to take him down (something jones rarely encounters) but he also conceals his grappling ability well enough that it turns into a psychological weapon when opponents like vettori and gastelum know they're being outclassed on the feet and believe their grappling is the only path to victory, only to (quickly and out of nowhere) get blast doubled to the ground effortlessly and feel their confidence melt away as whittaker just keeps them down until the round ends or stands up right after as a way of saying "I can do this whenever I want". Both gastelum and vettori both admitted after fighting whittaker that they had never felt so thoroughly outclassed, because even their attempts at grappling were just brushed aside. Remember, vettori is a decent grappler who is delusional enough to believe he beat adesanya BOTH TIMES and whittaker was the one who made him feel outclassed everywhere. Even when Jones does good work with his grappling, he doesn't make delusionally confident people question their fighting abilities with his grappling, at least not for the last 5 years at least.
Well after tonight volk’s placement has gotta be updated, I’d say b tier at least, maybe in the same realm as Ortega

If you do your most powerful fighters list over I think you need to do it relative to the size and weight class. Like Josh Emmett obviously isn't going to hit as hard as a heavyweight but relative to other featherweights he's an A tier, Curtis Blaydes hits harder than everyone not a heavyweight but compared to other heavyweights he's probably a B or C tier.
