After all those days imaging what the next part will look like and all those theories everyone has made about the game, we’re finally one week away from continuing the unknown journey. It’s been one hell of a wait, enjoyable for sure. I’m sure the theories for part 3 will be even crazier 🙏
Compelling theory. The idea of Sephiroth "reaching back and changing the past" immediately makes me think of Final Fantasy VIII. That's exactly what Ultimecia is doing, attempting to influence events in the past to change the future, since she knows she is destined to be defeated. Of course, as is normally the case with stories involving predestination and time travel, it's her meddling with time that causes her to lose in the end. I mention this because there are "anchor points" in FFVIII's story as well. The first is Edea's orphanage, which is where the heroes grew up together and where they arrive after time compression. However, the sequence that plays out just before this sees them fighting a succession of battles at locations visited throughout the story, culminating in a boss battle at Winhill Village, which is another anchor point (it is, after all, the hometown of Ellone and Squall's mother, so one of the most important places in the narrative). Like FFVIII, FFXIII-2 involves time travel and a villain who is trying to alter the future, in this case to protect a girl he loves (since in every timeline, a different incarnation of Yeul is born and destined to die young, no matter what anyone does to save her). I wonder how much FFVII: Remake's story was influenced by these two titles. Could be an interesting topic for a future video.
Really solid theories re: church. Being a portal/center point of sorts due to lifestream etc. They could do something quite horrifying (them wise) in part 3 and have the church corrupted - due to Sephiroth
Sometimes watching these trailers I wonder if some of this is some weird figment of Cloud’s mako poisoned imagination. And Zack is more or less alive taking care of cloud.
Then after Rebirth it will be theory crafting for part 3 for the next 3-4 years lol. Very interesting theory as people have been saying the church is a special place. The diety or God or "Goddess" that was worshipped is not specified. I'm wondering if it could be Minerva? If so, I have a feeling with that scene of Zack and Sephiroth that Zack's return was an unintended consequence to Sephiroth's meddling perhaps by Minerva and the whisperers of fate as a last ditch effort to balance the scales of fate knowing now how much more powerful Sephiroth has become.

It's been a crazy few years; see you on the other side! Here's to an epic journey of Rebirth.

will there be a battle between Cloud, Sephiroth, & Elfe at the Forgotten City in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?
