    When you become a family man and have a lot of responsibility, you lose confidence, if i fall now i wont be able to work and its always on my mind😂

      Yep that is always in my mind, I had 2 big injuries in the last 2 years and it definitely plays a part in not wanting to risk certain features.

      It's just the rear shock I'm getting, happy with the 38s at the minute , no where near as hard to set up as the shock.

    I also run a basic coil shock with slow speed compression and rebound damping. After running it for three months I decided to get another two for my other bikes. It's the kick I got from air shocks in certain situations which put me off. No such issues with coil. They're predictable and stable. I couldn't really jump before, now I'm sending them and doing drops without much concern. Continued medium to large hits in rapid succession do not destabilise the rear as before, where an air shock packed up and up until it kicked. That has now disappeared completely. I'm now considering the Rockshox Ultimate coil because it's got high and low speed compression damping, plus bottom out damping. You have a great, simple and reliable rear shock, so you'll soon appreciate what I mean.

      That's good to know thanks for the feedback 👍 stability and predictability is exactly what I'm after. I'll give an update once I've used it for a while 😀

      I crashed on my first run down lovey dyfi got in to the forest and the left turn with the slab took me out. Kinda ruined my day as it knocked my confidence massively.

      Yea that's horrible that section isn't it? Proper ruins your confidence too, hard to get it back after that 😔

    Good call on the bomber. I went with that option and it's night and day vs the stock air shock I had on mine before the upgrade. Sometimes less adjustments is actually better and this thing only has rebound adjustment which I found perfectly good enough for the riding I'm doing.

    • @OfftheTopMTB
      @OfftheTopMTB  6 місяців тому

      Yea I often think the same regarding adjustments, I just wanna set and forget and the couple of fox air shocks I've had over the years have always been a ball ache to set up. I've got this bomber from J Tech too so there custom tuning it too me as well which should help it perform even better.

      @@OfftheTopMTB I’m looking at using the cycle to work scheme to get an eMTB for trail riding but the best I can get with the money they offer is something like a cube stereo 140, is there any bikes you’d recommend that sit around 3k to comfortably do this kind of trail riding?

    • @OfftheTopMTB
      @OfftheTopMTB  6 місяців тому

      @@chrisdobbo8938 to be honest anything with 150mm travel or above will be fine for most places. The trails in this video, you could get away with even lower than that.
      Not sure what bike you can get for 3k to be honest, maybe a haibike or just a lower specced Giant/spesh/canyon
