you really underestimate what these guys go through everyday for every game. Thank you referees of the NBA, for allowing the game to go smoothly and making everything here possible!
Looks like good officiating is underrated. No one thanks refs for good calls, but everyone is always complaining. No one even knows their names, except of those who made sound mistakes. Refs have to warm up, stretch, and at the end they are sitting with an ice packs. Never thought it is so intense.
HawksAndFalcons Fan That's what I'm talking about. Not having your name everywhere is not so bad, but I mean, if they do their job good it's just ok, no one notices that. But if they make a mistake everyone hate.
UA-cam Commentator oh absolutely officials of all sports have to be mentally and physically prepared for everything and anything....I’m a sports official for youth sports and it’s not as easy as it looks
NBA TV That was a really cool short vid that educates us about the officiating crew. Thanks for this vid it was very interesting and I'm glad I watched it.
Great initiative of the NBA to release such a video. I always wanted to know how their workdays would look like. Didn't expect all that iceing on the knees. Guess it's gotta be pretty intense. Well i'd expect it to be.
They've got the worst job in sports, always scrutinized and the bud of most sports jokes. Truth be told most people couldn't handle the constant pressure they face to get each call correct, not every foul will be called because they're human and are based on flaws to become better. Great video I love to see the game within the game.
Refs have such a difficult job. They have to make calls in a split-second based on their judgment and what they saw. If they do a bad job, they get booed by the whole arena. If they do a good job but the fans don't like it, they get booed by the whole arena. It's a tough job, and this is a great inside look at all of the work and research that goes into being a solid NBA ref. I applaud them.
This was awesome! I think nba fans like myself really need more behind the scenes on referees. They have a tough job and are miraculous at it, yet it's like they aren't there. The only time they get recognition is when a stadium is booing them!
well, since he stepped down as commissioner last year February I think, and Adam silver came, I don't feel that the 2014 playoffs or any games were rigged, eg the finals wasn't a close call at all unlike what the usually are.
David stern never intentionally rigged games... The referees did. We knew about it and just didn't do anything about it. He wasn't the one telling the referees to rig games. The referees try and be fair but some referees have a little bit of biased in them and alter games for which ever team they want to win. Even though David stern didn't start this, it's still his fault cuz he knew about it and just let it happen
Every player should have to watch that bit at 1:04. If I had a dollar for every time I had heard someone say "but it was right in front of you" or "but you were the furthest away" while I was refereeing, I would be a very rich man
I was at this game! During a time out, the ref was sitting on a chair reading a news paper. Bango came over and shined his shoes and put some deodorant on him. They should have shown that. It was hilarious.
I officiated football and basketball for 20 years, these guys kill me they are so worried about the minor details and all the bullshit and then miss the major calls that matter, way too much analyzing just go out let the game come to you and don't grab it by the throat. its simple. old officials like Strom and Mendelson knew this.
Wow, quite interesting. It's funny to hear him talk about the game as if their playing in it, but I guess they basically are. They can have as much of an effect as the players sometimes. Respect to good refs; they have hard jobs where someone is always angry at them haha
All rigging jokes aside, this was pretty damn cool to see. Hoping for more of these.
👆Go watch nfl
cool vid. more please
Word, tell me not.
***** the fuck is your problem why do you hate on everything?
Wasn't expecting much but it was pretty entertaining.

They should do this with the bad officials like joey crawford, tony brothers and marc davis.
Add Ed Milloy and Violet Palmer
and ken mauer
Also Salvatore
You just named the three best officials lol
Troy Horton If you think Joey Crawford is one of the three best officials you're tripping
Please more of this, this is fantastic!
The NBA officials are the best officials in sports.

Now can we get a look into the 2002 Kings-Lakers game?
Lol that is true! That was a pretty fixed game though
hahaha the shadiest game in nba history
Nope that nba myth has been debunked that game was fairly reffed
www.82games.com/lakerskingsgame6.htm
How about 2012-13 and 2013-14 finals
mark Year don't act like you forgot the 06 finals

This was dope. Refs really do go through a lot aswell as the players do.
Damn, honestly this is pretty cool
Where's the part when they bet on games?
Ypvx
Probably comming in a part 2 at a nearby casino
these guys dont get enough credit
This was a lot of fun to watch. Hope there's more to follow!
damn thought the refs just drunkenly stumbled out of their hotel rooms and into the arena
Same
I don't know why I laughed so hard at this, but I did.

My favorite player is Joey Crawford....MVP this year!
Better MVP canidate than James Har_en
I thought this was a pretty cool look into the other side of the ball. I would look forward to more videos like this!
These Guys Do A Really Good Job At Calling The Right Plays For Fouls Tipped Balls And Violations
Can we please have this segment for the 2002 WCF Lakers vs Kings game 6? I want to see Tim Donaghy's view for the calls he made.
They drove straight through the stop sign at the end...

I liked this. I hope there will be more videos like this.
If every game has this kind of full recording, no one will complain at all
I want more of these
More of this please!
so we get to see behind the scenes on what they do to get Harden shoot at least 20 free throws?
Wow! The science behind the whistle 👏
Awesome job with this NBA.
Next up on The Association: Referees. Joey crawford and Ken Mauer explains their calls
Respect.
Super interesting, thanks for the vid!
This was really cool!!!
RESPECT
Should do more like this!
why didnt they show crawford lmao
Noah Woodrum stop talking bad about Jamal Crawford. Have you seen his ball handles. I'd like to see you try and play him one on one.
@@thefunnysportsman774 he ment Joey Crawford
More videos like this please :)
This was pretty nice
Love this
Pretty cool not going to lie.
This is nice. Everything super proffesional like nowhere
Fun too watch
Cool video thanks
I want to see them have a meeting when Demarcus Cousins is playing in the game
What? NBA referees are people too? I thought they were just blind mannequins to yell at?
on so much better behavior when theres cameras and mics on
The main ref looks like Tony Parker with hair!!! LMAO!
“This is our meeting, this is where we plan on how to fuck games up”
Since David stern is gone maybe rigging will also.. Well hopefully
well, since he stepped down as commissioner last year February I think, and Adam silver came, I don't feel that the 2014 playoffs or any games were rigged, eg the finals wasn't a close call at all unlike what the usually are.
^ OKC vs San Antonio? Reggie Jackson?

HawksAndFalcons Fan Source?
Do a MyOfficial Career mode in NBA2K16 lol!
Been waiting for this forever
just a few seconds ago Mario Chalmers hit a halfcourt bomb
Every player should have to watch that bit at 1:04. If I had a dollar for every time I had heard someone say "but it was right in front of you" or "but you were the furthest away" while I was refereeing, I would be a very rich man
anybody know what's on them knees after the game?
Cool guys
Refs for that senator drip💧😁
4:14 young giannis 😂
Lol
Fan 1 yo why tf did i comment this
If you look closely, you can see that Lebron traveled.
What is Phil Dunfy doing here?
Ref party. I didn't know these existed.
Isn't Richardson the one who tried to block Kris Humphries free throw?! Haha 😄
Lowkey entertaining though
so where do the 3 men go together suspiciously at night all in a car and what do they do after the end of the video?
shucklesors airport
かっこいい
This was sick
I was at this game! During a time out, the ref was sitting on a chair reading a news paper. Bango came over and shined his shoes and put some deodorant on him. They should have shown that. It was hilarious.
wasn't aware that sergeant Doakes became an NBA referee
LOL they ice up after the game! ahhaha
bryanhabana123 Refs run during the game too.
I don't think refs get enough credit for their work, but refs like Crawford make them have a bad image.
Giving a refs name is like giving someone your credit card number, only because everyone hates refs.
Why are we watching a video about James Hardens BFFs
Half of these Refs are bigger than anyone I know...
that's the guy who ejected lebron lol
Who is here after rich got injured
Sigh. Here come all the ref band wagoners
where is joey crawford when u need him
ihateBlackOps2 lol
I officiated football and basketball for 20 years, these guys kill me they are so worried about the minor details and all the bullshit and then miss the major calls that matter, way too much analyzing just go out let the game come to you and don't grab it by the throat. its simple. old officials like Strom and Mendelson knew this.

They don't like the Rockets.
***** Ironic that you're a blake griffin fan
They made a backwards oreo when they were sitting down.
Nice to see good refs instead of Joey Crawford
Y r they naked together
In the locker room
All this and they cant call travels
Isn't that the black guy who got nailed in the face.
Mic refs up again !!!
Like if the refs were all better than Lebron
come finals, they don't review anything. only checks on their pockets
yet they still make bad calls..
Are they seriously icing their knees? Please tell me that is a joke.
So they’re basically professional snitches
Being an NBA referee would be cool, but I'm asian.
Where's the part lebron pays them
Never gonna forget about the Game 6 02 Kings-Lakers game. Wish they showed the refs who officiated that game. Dont care if they retired
So the refs are ok if they help another team win
Remove the burden of remembering alternating possession. Discbands.com for Basketball Officials. Be professional. Be right.
This is so cool,it shows how the job of a referee is not that easy.Keep it up refs!
1:46 Proves the NBA is rigged.
They icing and foam rolling and shit they think they ball players looool.
U guys got to stop blaming the refs when you lose just admit u have a shitty team, I'm looking to you clipper fans
