I like how you guys account for the TIME this takes, a lot of people that do side hustles don't account for that and just glorify the profits but I think it's really important to consider the time you put in.
They approximate 18hours seem fair. You can always do a furniture at a time at your pace. That’s what I do when I sell something online because I have a full time job.
I payed $350 for a couch that costs about $699 i don't know how much the sellers bought it for or what was there profit but they literally didn't do anything to it but clean it, just yesterday i tightened all the screws that were loose and already seems better, I'm going to paint it to see how it turns out.
We get it. Location definitely matters. Other comments have said that we are too cheap, so it definitely depends on where you are. What part of the country are you in? We are in the midwest, which is known for being "cheap"

You guys!!! I am stoked to say that thanks to being inspired by your videos I have successfully taken $65 and turned it into $1,520 in the matter of 3 weeks by flipping furniture! And it’s so fun and exciting!!! Thanks majorly for the inspo to give this a go in the first place. It’s something I’ll be doing for years to come!!
I have watched other furniture flipping videos from other couples, and wondered at the time invested, while children sort of drifted in and out of frame. My children are grown now and, as happens for us all, I often think what I would give to have those early years back. It made me so happy to hear that you took time with them into account and that you know that time is so much more valuable than money. You seem to have a lovely connection and I wish you all the success and happiness the world can offer.
I felt the same way about the hutch. It had such a beautiful wood grain ,and for how cheap they got it, it would have been awesome to see them maybe strip and re-stain it in an updated color instead. Still turned out beautiful but that wood grain pattern was just stunning
With the exception of the doors, the entire piece was just a deteriorating veneer. It looked ok on video but in person I don't think it could have been salvaged. If it was real wood it would have cost us much more.
@@sendmedics I can't believe they call THIS flipping. 😂 Actual flipping typically requires much more work, not slathering 'deteriorating veneer' with chalk paint instead of actually fixing the furniture so that when it starts deteriorating more under all that paint (and with the paint) that's not THEIR problem, it's the new owners problem. They couldn't even be arsed to sand the damn thing regardless of what the chalk paint said. That's like believing one coat of light paint is good enough because the can says it is. This isn't flipping, it's faking it until they make their money and can run. You're not getting a whole ass cabinet for $6 in auction no less if there isn't anything wrong with it other than needing a paint job. I've seen legitimately terrible run down furniture sell on auction for so much more because the people who actually put effort into flipping products want these things.
I'm a woodworker. I have a booth at a local Antique mall. I started buying furniture to flip to fill my space when one of my pieces would sell. It's been great. Have you considered making a portable backdrop and lighting to stage the larger items? That way you can give them a great stage without having to move them.
It was nice idea. The profit cannot be buying price subtract from selling price. You also have to include a new legs, paint, fabric.......... probably not a lot of $$ but still should be counted on. Overall it was a really nice idea.
We do find that the velvet is sometimes discolored. Sometimes we take our 50/50 solution of vinegar water and wipe the velvet in a circular motion to "feather" the harsh line. It usually wont look completely perfect, but it's better than the original. Hope this helps!

Pretty Good Profit. Not a bad little part time gig. 18 hours of work for over $1000 profit. Not Bad at all. Entertaining spin on being a side hustle mortgage challenge & informative perspective on furniture flipping. Thx for sharing your adventure with us. You have a good👁eye for a deal, awareness for what is hot🔥, how to best repackage items, & are aggressive @ pricing. Truly amazing to see how you did such minimal work on several pieces, but got a maximum return💰. Good for you!👏 Not quite a 🛠DIY tutorial flip bcos you glossed over some actual cleaning & finishing details, but fascinating nonetheless to see how your 📷stylish staging & merchandising positively impacted your sales. Also to learn how much it helped you to use key design words & trends in your own postings🗞. Clearly, you captured the imagination of buyers on top of greatly improving your own sales, profits & bottomline. Thrilled to hear about your ☀️Summer selling success on FBM. How appalling to discover your more recent negative experiences in this very same forum. (How your 🍁Fall postings got bogged down in some purgatory.) Filling FBM w/hated spam ads seems completely counterintuitive as does slowing down the entire search engine, but perhaps the giant is more interested in chasing revenue 💸 over actually improving service. 😆Frustrating that these changes have clearly stalled a dynamic & effective 🛒Marketplace for both buyers & sellers alike. 🤔Hope someone else in the tech💻world is paying attention! ✌😊🤙
Thanks for the encouraging words and thoughtful response! We really appreciate it! We just wanted to show people the true possibilities of reselling and how much you could make by putting in a lot of effort. The whole Facebook Marketplace thing is a real bummer. Someone else just posted and said they are throttling post exposure to 1-2% unless it’s paid. 😢 seems like they took it way to far and will destroy the good thing they had going. Thanks again for the comment! It means a lot to us!
Just stumbled on your channel today. Loved the video and I am surprised why more people haven'r subscribed yet. Also, you both have great taste and style.
Me watching this as a Canadian living in Toronto and thinking "They could list that for $350 and people would fight over it" Them: "So we're going to list this for $100" Me "Okay that one has to be a $250 piece" Them: We decided to list this one for $125" 👁👄👁
yeah, same. you wouldn't be able to find those pieces at the prices they originally paid here. Maaybe you could find it for what they sold it for, and then sell it for a bit more. I'd love to find a green velvet chair like that though.
Omg, I was having the exact opposite reaction. “Hold on, they’re listing it for HOW MUCH?! And they SOLD it for that?! Where the hell do they live???” In rural Idaho, the original cost for the items would be lower (free or $10 at most) but the resell would be a shit ton lower too ($25 or maaayybbbeee $50). I’m a thinkin’ I buy a bunch of stuff locally, drive it six hours to the closest metropolis, and sell it. If I had a super gas efficient vehicle, I think it would totally work.
Seems like it's more efficient,to just clean stuff and let ppl do what they want, then paint something and wait, for that certain person,to buy, like I was going to! So glad I came across this channel!!

Yeah, I was making 6-7 hundred a month of FBM this spring & summer. Suddenly, in the last 2 months, nothing. :(
Those green and blue chairs were 👍WE Love it
What I learned from this videos is that my mortgage is way too expensive
Hi injoy my channel i I'm Indian
I would totally buy any of those pieces. Great job
Thanks so much 😊
That cane TV stand came out amazing
Thanks! It turned out better than we thought it would!
I appreciate your taking into account the entirety of the time you put in. I noticed the same about the FB marketplace….
I love the green chairs!! They’re so pretty
We almost kept one! They were super cool
You've inspired me to flip wicker furniture and make a vlog. Thanks so much.
Awesome! So cool! 😎
You guys are so cute!!! I loved this video so much! Very inspiring and well thought out.
Aww thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!! 😀
Have you ever thought of selling through consignment or in a booth at a higher end flea market or antique mall? We have tons of them down here in the south and your furniture is at the right price point for it.
We've thought about it but we aren't THAT busy with flipping. Definitely would if we were trying to do it full time!
Where do you list your furniture?
Where do you find your furniture?
Great questions! We have other videos on this, but we list exclusively on Facebook Marketplace(for now). We find stuff on Facebook Marketplace, Thrift stores, and online auctions. Hope this helps! 👍🏻
Great video!! Really liked it. We do little things like that too.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Love the green chairs!
I would clean them for bugs.
Some states,require microban.
You all have a great Wall for pics!!
Thanks! A good picture spot makes a big difference 👍
you both are so awesome and I want the best for your family continue this fun and great way to make profits to contribute to bills ,,, AMAZING xoxoxoxoxoxo
Thanks so much! This made us smile 😀
I love your furniture flipping videos! What do you do to clean the furniture, like chairs (if needed)?
We try not to buy soiled chairs, but if they need a light cleaning we use a 50-50 solution of vinegar water in a spray bottle. Blot up 👍
Great job on those pieces. I especially love the credenza. You guys do a great job!
Thanks a ton! We have a lot of doing it! 😊😊
Painting over the beautiful wood grain of the hutch made my heart sad. But it does look very nice afterwards!
Most of it was actually a veneer so we didn't feel too bad about it 😁
I loved the original too!
Thank you ☺️. Agreed regarding FB Marketplace 😏
Love the chairs! Is there anything you do about the "grandma smell" on furniture??
We try to avoid smelly furniture, but whenever we have a piece that smells we try using oxi-clean pet stain and odor remover. It usually works great! 👍🏻
Pretty Good Profit.
Not a bad little part time gig.
18 hours of work for over $1000 profit.
Not Bad at all.
Some people work hard at a job 40 hours a week making only $10 an hour, after taxes bringing home around $300. Very hard to make ends meet. Hopefully people will watch your Video and get inspired.
You two did an amazing job.👍
Thanks so much! It's our goal to help people see all the possibilities for making money outside a traditional job 👍🏻
Great video!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Good for you!👏
Not quite a 🛠DIY tutorial flip bcos you glossed over some actual cleaning & finishing details, but fascinating nonetheless to see how your 📷stylish staging & merchandising positively impacted your sales. Also to learn how much it helped you to use key design words & trends in your own postings🗞. Clearly, you captured the imagination of buyers on top of greatly improving your own sales, profits & bottomline.
Thrilled to hear about your
☀️Summer selling success on FBM. How appalling to discover your more recent negative experiences in this very same forum. (How your 🍁Fall postings got bogged down in some purgatory.)
Filling FBM w/hated spam ads seems completely counterintuitive as does slowing down the entire search engine, but perhaps the giant is more interested in chasing revenue 💸 over actually improving service.
It means a lot to us!
where do you think it'll move to if Facebook marketplace is being used less?
Hard to say...right now we've been posting in local "garage sale" facebook groups. There are no ads there(yet).
Just stumbled on your channel today. Loved the video and I am surprised why more people haven'r subscribed yet. Also, you both have great taste and style.
Thanks so much!
I paid my mortgage by picking things up and putting them down.
wow! a simple thing like ripping off the fabric on the bottom completely transformed those chairs. I love it! and oh my... how cute is Jamie! :-)
Right?! 😁😁
Me watching this as a Canadian living in Toronto and thinking "They could list that for $350 and people would fight over it"
Them: "So we're going to list this for $100"
Me "Okay that one has to be a $250 piece"
Them: We decided to list this one for $125"
👁👄👁
😂😂 Yes the Midwest is super cheap, especially compared to Toronto!
yeah, same. you wouldn't be able to find those pieces at the prices they originally paid here. Maaybe you could find it for what they sold it for, and then sell it for a bit more. I'd love to find a green velvet chair like that though.
Omg, I was having the exact opposite reaction. “Hold on, they’re listing it for HOW MUCH?! And they SOLD it for that?! Where the hell do they live???”
In rural Idaho, the original cost for the items would be lower (free or $10 at most) but the resell would be a shit ton lower too ($25 or maaayybbbeee $50).
Yea if you are doing it just for the money, reselling is much more efficient than refurbishing and then reselling!
Where do you get your artwork from, I love your taste!
Thanks! They are actually pictures we’ve taken from our travels 😊😊
You're right J, fb marketplace is yet another failure! Btw, love the furniture flips. They look fabulous . Thanks for sharing.
