"Sew and hope"...? That cracked me up!! Donna, that's what us amateurs do!! Your method is "Sew and know"!! Thank you for sharing this pattern and your humor!!
I always enjoy going back and review your making of a specific pattern. You are the best instructor of anyone, thank you.
I would have loved to see this made where the pickets matched the fabric used in the adjoining block to create crosses extending into the border. Very pretty pattern!
Love the colors you chose. I'll never be able to make all the quilts I have on my list if I keep adding to it, lol Thanks for the video Donna, and also Thanks to your Son for his excellent camera work. 🎥
Your videos make me believe I can do anything! I love this one also! ❤️
I agree! I wish Donna could explain how to sew all the quilts we all want to make lol!! I've NEVER seen anyone who explains the making of a quilt like her. We appreciate you Donna!! And your son as well. Never seen any quilting videos with the expertise that he has! One talented family!
Matt is an absolute artist in the way that he puts colours together in combinations that would never have occurred to me. And you are the perfect tutor, Donna. Shout out, too, to your son behind the camera!
Thank you!
I was just thinking the same thing.
I don’t know why I am always surprised how beautiful her color choices are. Sometimes I think what is she thinking and bam her quilts are stupendous! A true genius at colors and patterns. Thanks again Donna and Matt
Oh Donna, I almost ALWAYS use "SEW AND HOPE!" it made me laugh. I use the "Pray and try not to swear," method too.
I'm a fairly new quilter, and absolutely LOVE YOUR EXPLANATION & DEMONSTRATION techniques. You are so organized and very easily understood. I wish all my quilting adventures were done by you. YOU are Amazing! And I love that you always include Matt, and his excellent cutting ✂️. If I had a better cutter, ( me) my life would be easier. I'm working on it.
Thank you again, for sharing this with us. Bless you and yours.💖🍀🙏🤗
Thank you for the great video's . I love watching them hope to get back to quilting soon as I have had some bad health issues.
Robin Pickens is a great designer of patterns as well as her color theory fabrics. I'm not a fan of 1/8th anything , however, the points match up so beautifully, it is a must to do proper cutting as any designer in any pattern has done the math for us. WTG Robin and TY Donna.
I also don't like cutting odd measurements, but that part of making the quilt only took a small amount of time. I put a piece of masking tape on my clear plastic ruler to help me find the size more quickly.
Lovely quilt 😊
Beautiful baktic quilt!!!
Thank you for the wonderful tutorials💝🦋This quilt is so pretty! But, it looks a bit difficult. Hopefully, if I follow your instructions, less difficult. And I will have sewn a gorgeous quilt! Has anyone sewn this yet?
Love your video tutorials.i take the quilt to chemotherapy that you sent 3 years ago. Thank you.
I'm doing chemotherapy right now, I take a minky cat blanket so I'm cozy, hospitals are so cold.
Beautiful quilt and so different.
Hi Donna! Ok, I had to laugh when you said you use "the sew & hope method"!!!! Don't we all at some point?? 🤣🤣
Oh, my! I love the outcome, knew that Donna would do her usual impeccable job and got the willies with the cutting of the blocks with the varying sizes. That’s just how my brain reacts to these sorts of things. For me, making the eventual triangles would be so daunting that it wouldn’t be worth it. Could I? Yep. But it just wouldn’t be any kind of fun.
But I truly enjoyed watching Donna work her way through this pattern. Her precise cutting skills and sense of organization were especially important with this pattern. And her comments at the end were on point and interesting.
Another very satisfying video from Team Jordan! Thank you.
Beaitiful quilt. I prefer your more subtle picket border.
I love your colors over the patterns,
You always make the most beautiful quilts. This got me to thinking that a picket fence (without a gate) may end the problems I have been having with a new neighbor. I have happy memories of a white washed picket fence. Thank you for this video.
Anyone else find the sound of the rotary cutter satisfying? Lol
Everytime
I wasn't sure about the waste in fabric, but when it was all put together, that quilt turned out beautifully.
I got a jolt when you did that first cut across the patchwork (measuring from the 4.5" line on the ruler) -- I never saw that coming! But the block finally made perfect sense to me, so I'm very pleased to have learned a new piecing/trimming technique! Wonderful design, and not a jelly roll in sight! 😊 Thank you so much for sharing your expertise! This is one of the most visually pleasing quilts I've watched you make! 😺💕🐾
Yes, you do have to trust that the pattern works - and it does!
love the fence, and the colors.
Beautiful With all the scraps and your creativity cant wait to see what you made with them .....maybe a pillow cover
Woooow, what a cobination of colours ,I like very much , very clean work , Great job , Love you dear .
Donna, I love the colors that you choose. I have learned so much from watching your UA-cam videos.
Ooooh I LOVE IT! I’ve watched tons of tutorials and it just occurred to me this morning that I could NEVER, EVER do a video….most of the time when I’m piecing a quilt I’m either in my pajamas or just some comfy clothes (which means BRALESS) my hair looks crazy, and no makeup! You always look nice and put together, way to go Donna Jordan!
I was initially worried about your color choices. But I really like the result! Very nice!!!
The color on the quilt is my favorite color
Hi Donna, I'm in the middle of making this quilt. I am so grateful for your tutorial as I find the instructions to be slightly confusing! This tutorial is making it so much easier for me! Thank you so much!!
Note for Matt ❤-hello young man... you're doing a great job!
Vickie’s are beautiful. Love it.
I love your "sew and hope" method. I like to do that, too! :)
I love batiks
You do such beautiful work. Thanks
I love Robin Pickens patterns. I am going to make (hopefully) the Bird Talk quilt for my mom's birthday in October. This one is also very pretty but I can't stand the waste. I'm left wondering if it wouldn't be better to make a full square to start with. The corners that are cut off would then still be usable and would probably even make an interesting scrap project...?
The diamond shaped blocks are so unique. I am want to do this pattern just to make the diamonds. Thank you!
the construction of this quilt was really a surprise. LOVE you and your videos :)
Awesome colors, so beautiful.
This is a beautiful quilt. Love the pattern and color choices. Thanks again for such a wreath tutorial. Very much appreciated.
Love the quilt Donna.
I am a beginner sewist and watching your videos have my quilts looking beyond my skillset. I cannot wait to tackle this one!
Fantastic as always, Donna!😘😍
Thank you!🙏🏼🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
You do such amazing work Donna. I would never have put all those prints together. You nailed it!
Donna, that is the first time I’ve heard someone say the “ sew and hope” method. Made my day 😂
Love watching your videos 😊
Очень красивые блоки и шикарный подбор тканей. С огромным удовольствием смотрю Ваши ролики! Успехов и процветание компании!
I love watching your videos, Donna. I have learned so much. You are a natural teacher. And I love that shop of yours. Such beautiful fabrics. 🎉
Oh Happy morning to all of us!! Beautiful colors and pattern. Love everything about this pattern. Thank you for all your tutorials and explanations to learn. I’m always Inspired by all your tutorials. When I get stuck , I come back to your tutorials.
Your videos bring me joy!
This is a most beautiful quilt. Well done all of you.
Love you Jordan Fabrics! PLEASE listen to this video and you'll find it so difficult to hear Donna's dialogue. Can you fix this problem for your many fans? It happens quite often. Thanks for all you do to help the QUILTER'S around the globe!
Trying my hand at something new I have been watching your program and desire to try my hand at quilting yours turns out so beautiful I just wanted to see if I could do it just like you thanks thanks Donna for your hard work and love you so much
Very pretty! Although it looks like a bit of cutting time, the result is a lovely quilt! Thanks for your tutorials.
Your videos,Donna, are always exceptionally filmed, presented, helpful and inspiring. You make me feel very confident in tackling the projects that I have chosen, with your help. I love your new work table! The light wood makes the quilt pattern much more the focus of camera. Thank you, as always, for your entire team''s great effort.
Love the color scheme, I don’t think I’m that advanced I quilt making to do this pattern but I love it. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe
Can you do a video on your cutting methods? I notice you folding the background fabric when cutting off the bolt. That wound be nice to know. Also when you are making 4-patches from strip sets (laying them right sides together, then cutting so you’re ready to stitch). Also using strip tube ruler.
I hope you can do this type of video. Thanks!
I'll see what we can do - thanks for the suggestion.
Thank you, Donna.
It's always a good day when the Jordan family posts a new video.
Fun to see a pattern tutorial with a bit different cutting, trimming, and construction elements. Makes for a more interesting video. And as a bonus, your beautiful blue metallic manicure matched your iron 02:52 🙂
Love these colors and LOVE the Give Away purples..my favorite color ! Great video, as usual.
Jorden oh how I luv these colours could mat make me enough if I send you my finished measurements jorden your fabulous I just luv what you and Matt do luv teresa
As always, great video and very informative. I've watched many quilters here on UA-cam, but for me, you are the best at explaining and then showing what you do. Its so much easier to do the patchwork after watching the video. I've done the Bargello, Hugs and Kisses, and I'm currently working on the free download pattern Chain Links. So easy to follow the instructions and the quilts turn out bigger than they look. Very pleased with them. Glad to have you making these videos. Thank you so much.
Sew and hope...sounds like my mantra!
Nice Donna a bit of a challenge!!!🎉
This would be pretty with pastel flower fabrics. I think I might try this one after I finish my other three projects.😃
I love the colours in that layer cake.
Thank you for all you do! So enjoy watching your videos
Very nice! It looks like a flower garden!
A work of art. Beautiful.
Thise fabrics are gorgeous!! Cool quilt pattern!
your nails are always impeccable 😊 makes me want to dig out the polish again ❤
Magic Press from Dashing Diva!
Beautiful quilt, Donna! ❤ Thanks for another great video!
Such an interesting way to make the more complex blocks. I've never seen that approach before. Thanks Donna!
You always make sewing a quilt that looks difficult to sew look easy. Love the color choices. Thank you.
Beautiful quilt. The pattern would be a good skill builder in cutting for this beginner.
Beautiful quilt!
Beautiful fabric colours, beautiful pattern, gorgeous all together. Thank you for sharing your videos. 💐
What a beauty! Love the cut and hope principle🤣
Absolutely love this adorable quilt, the colors are the best! Please use the green and brown color way more

Love this pattern! Thank you!!!!!!
Gorgeous quilt Donna! I love batik fabric! I have others on my to do list. Sadly, this one will not make that list any time soon. It's more complicated than I like, but it seems easy the way you show it. Many Blessings from Deborah in West Virginia!
I am so glad I can now name how I sew....sew and hope method!! Thank you for teaching us each week!
Beautiful and interesting pattern.
Sew and hope method 😀I love that idea Thank you Donna for a great video, you are the best xx
You do awesome work! Beautiful!
Lovely quilt! Thank you for the tip that the picket fence would stand out more with a bit more contrasting color as the accent. Lesson learned.
You are an excellent teacher. I have learned a lot about quilting from you, so I thank you again.❤
Fun quilt-Thanks for your tutorial! Always great!
I am not to the point of being confident enough to attempt something like this but just watching your videos is a learning experience. This is a pretty pattern and the colors are very nice.
Love the pattern snd the gold thread you chose. Love the yellow fabric you had picked out.
Perfect color combo. Reminds me of your jewel quilt. ❤
