It certainly hits hard to remember that it's been 7 years. Nonetheless, we should strive to remember the good, as it is what has kept us playing this game despite all. Really do wish more non-gameplay FE2 content existed nowadays tho ;-;

It started to get harder to enjoy after constantly getting updated and overhauled with hardly any breathing room. It was even worse as a mobile player where you could barely move your screen without hitting the slide button once it was added. I usually don’t like the “new bad old good” mindset but all the changes this game tries to make can often be disappointing, especially since they usually aren’t necessary in the first place.
It's great that fe2 has high detail maps and large variety of mechanics; but I miss the simple yet fun maps which weren't hard to sightread and community maps back then weren't made to make it to the main game, mostly for fun and challenges. I miss dsf , overdrive revamps and remixes which were quite copied but fun. I wish community would still keep up with the lore with the maps, guide etc. that would make the game not just crazy maps tryharding but more engaging and interesting. I really enjoyed the flood escape shorts animations! they are really well made and intense lore xd thx for vid
Honestly I think 2018 FE2 was better. I don't think I played it at all or maybe I did but 2018 FE2 just has that unexplainable charm to it. Also circling back to the drama, 2018 FE2 was just so much more tame than current FE2. I mean nowadays, the drama is just crazy. We got allegations in circulation, Crazyblox leaving the server as of recent, etc. I'm also not too involved with the FE2 discord server but I do check the announcements from time to time. Overall, 2018 FE2 was just a much better era and 2018 itself was a great year since back then, there wasn't as much drama with various celebrities and famous people getting called out for being... well you know what I'm talking about. But anyways, 2018 FE2 was a much better time than how it is currently.
Flood Escape 2 is one of the few games I actually remember playing back when it was fairly new, so none of the stuff mentioned in this video surprised me. I don't even know how I remember playing FE2 in 2018, I was literally 6 years old... I know I played back in 2018, because I remember playing Sky Sanctuary and Mysterium and seeing them as new maps, as I hadn't played them before. Sky Sanctuary I practically don't remember anything about playing it for the first time, but Mysterium I do. I remember getting stuck on the button route right before the tower that leads to the end, thinking it was where I was meant to go. Again, I was only 6 years old, maybe even 5 because Mysterium was added before my 6th birthday that year.
Been playing since like 2018 or 2019 and I remember a lot of features and youtubers I remember binge watching twistedPandora and glitching my way through maps
I joined FE2 in 2017-2018, dont know if it was me being 7 but it was much more fun and enjoyable compared to nowadays another thing is FE2 Map Test, I think ive spent more time in that than the actual game, since there were much more maps other than fe2, i could go hours playing with my friends non-stop Fe2 fannades such as FEX was huge too, didnt remember a lot of it but basically free public map test server with popular custom maps, i had a lot of fun playing these games
As an og player getting back into the game, I wish there was a solo practice area like in FE1. A lot of the crazy and crazy+ maps are so hard and some aren't on FE2CM, meaning there's a ton of downtime on attempts. Also the switch tp FE2CM 2023 killed a lot of older maps
Honestly obviously people would say they think the gameplay in new fe2 is bad. It happens with every game, but new fe2 is like a thousand times better. Although the time is gone, PEOPLE HAVE TO MOVE ON. You can just play classic fe2 if you hate this version. Obviously I miss old fe2. But even I moved on
A little constructive criticism: I feel like you skipped over Soundtrack evolution of the game, which is a big missed opportunity, like how music for the maps evolved over the years, all the new OST makers taking over the old guard of Navola and co, etc
Crazyblox did a Q&A back in 2018 and deleted it a while ago for some reason. Someone asked why he didn't just update flood escape one into two. Well, Crazyblox said that it would change the game completely due to all the mechanics being different and more improved (I haven't said everything he replied with as it is a long reply). So he just made a flood escape two instead, but with flood escape two he is just doing what this guy has mentioned (continuing to update it with big changes) instead of giving us flood escape three. So this sort of tells us that we might not get a flood escape three and have flood escape two continuously updated instead.
Hey BoonMoon, this might be a very controversial say, but maybe you can try uploading on other games. You're amazing quality videos are simply not being recognised enough because fe2 hasn't been really popular for a while. This is just a suggestion btw, if you want to stick to fe2 and do videos for fun, then that's fine too.
Something I would like to add is the music. The old music was very fun and creative and fitted the maps well but the music in maps now are just generic and many of them sound uninspired and repetitive
Nice vid! Although I somewhat disagree about the map harassment on the discord server. Normally doing see any harassment around the server but people keep telling me it is terrible. I'm going to assume it is within the map forums/post area but I feel like I see more people saying that maps suck in-game then on the discord. I also currently have my map on the discord and the only criticism I got so far was that the water looked like "poop" lol but other than that a lot of constructive criticism
Also my map is very incomplete and not popular so I can't say much about that(I replied instead of editing since the device I'm on currently didn't allow editing)

I played new games that are also good like Block Tales, Super Blox 64 etc instead. I mean if FE2 Reborn was still here I think I would be playing tbh. My game literally freezes every few seconds I literally cant play this game. If I wasn’t playing on a potato i’d still be playing FE2.

I stopped playing bc I was trying to beat active volcanic mines, but now there’s too many maps, and I can never get that map now
